I like the hotel as it is not in the Central Area where it is crowded, so very little tourist groups. Most of the guests in the hotel are local nationals. It is located next to a mall so very convenient for everything. A ton of food within walking distance. Admittedly the hotel is a little dated but it is vey well kept. The service is top notch although they mostly don’t speak English so you’ll have to use google translate to speak to them, which I did not mind. Had a few misunderstandings during the trip which was due to miscommunication. Also please note that the hotel does not provide daily housekeeping, they would change all your towels, give you new amenties and empty all you trash as you leave it outside your room. They come into your room to refresh the room only once every 4 days. Which again I did not mind. I would rate it highly but I can’t give it a 5 having stayed in other better hotels, but this checks off a lot of boxes for me if you are on holiday and want something clean, well maintained, good service and nice.

This hotel offers absolutely no service. I had booked a bus transfer in advance but was directly told there was no bus. Upon arrival, I was rudely denied entry and was told to stand at the entrance for reservation confirmation. Even after presenting my passport and confirming the reservation, they still insisted on me providing the booking number. A one-hour late checkout was also not allowed unless we paid 2000 yen per person. Other experiences were fine—the room was decent—but the front desk staff clearly lack training and have very poor service skills.

First time in Sapporo and didn’t know where to stay. Glad I found this place because it was perfect on all levels. Location is walkable from Sapporo station but cabs are constantly around.
As soon as you arrive you’re greeted with a sense of zen and it carried throughout our stay. Room size was good enough for us, very clean and it included all the basic necessities including robes for the Onsen. Overall building was very well maintained.
The main feature is the Onsen and it didn’t disappoint. Multiple warm pools, sauna and a cold plunge. You even get ice cream afterwards.
Didn’t get any breakfast or dinner so can’t comment on the food but highly recommend staying here. Would come back!

Had an amazing stay at Chalet Ivy, a new modern ryokan with traditional feels.
The room is very spacious with comfortable modern amenities, with an in-room private onsen, with unobstructed snow covered views.

The selling points are new enough, the facilities are modern, and the rooms are larger than usual Japanese rooms.
The breakfast was good and there was ice cream for the kids
The location is not convenient, it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the MTR station
Driving has its own parking lot, but the fee is more expensive

Overall, the experience at Cuishanxi was very good, but the service of several male waiters left me with a very bad experience. One was the male waiter who checked in. His overall reaction was very bland. Having stayed in so many high-end hotels, I felt that his attitude was average and indifferent. At that time, we were not told that we needed to pay 150 yen per person for the private hot spring. I was wondering why they didn't tell us that it was not necessary? But the most annoying thing was the male waiter who checked out the next day, a thin male waiter. When we checked out, we asked him if there was a bus (although there was no bus when we asked before checking in, just a tentative question to see if there were any variables), he said no, it was normal to get here. Then we asked him to book a taxi for us. He said he was very busy now. Didn't he think about making an appointment when he got up in the morning? ? Oh my God, am I here to stay in the hotel, or do I want you to teach me? I didn't say that a taxi would pick me up immediately. I just booked a car. It's my own problem to arrive early or late. Do I need to listen to you teach me how to do things? Fortunately, when we walked around and went back, we met a female receptionist with a very good attitude. She was very kind to help us consider three options and even tried to help us coordinate the bus position. In the end, we took the bus. Otherwise, I would definitely complain to this man! So I strongly recommend that other male waiters learn more from this woman!

If you stay overnight, you can use the hot springs and the pool for free, which is nice!
However, it's a 40-minute shuttle bus ride away from Sapporo. In return, you can spend your time quietly... I would be grateful if the shuttle bus could run a little more frequently.

Okujozankei Onsen Kasho Gyoen is a haven of winter enchantment. The private onsen in our room unveiled a mesmerizing snowscape, creating a serene retreat. Dining was a culinary journey in a private room, with each dish a masterpiece. The attentive staff elevated our experience, their warm attitude leaving an indelible mark. A special flower arrangement for my proposal added a touch of magic. The breathtaking views of the lake and snow-laden trees completed the idyllic setting. We only had 1 night to stay in this beautiful paradise 🥲🤍
It was the best stay of our 10 day trip in Japan and we would definitely be back to stay here again 🤍
Location: in the Jozankei Onsen town that’s about an hour + out of Sapporo. Honestly if you’re in a group, just book a cab out, it was about $80++ for 3 of us! Otherwise remember to book the Onsen bus shuttle early in advance 🥹
Area around Onsen is nothing much besides other Onsen houses, a small cafe and other smol tourist picture spots.
Back to the Ryokan: this was my first experience being in one and I’m so glad I chose this place! Mum and sister throughly enjoyed it as well, using our in room Onsen ( there’s 2!) and also the shared common Onsen with an outdoor facing the snow too ❄️☃️♨️
Service:The staff was extremely polite and efficient, seeing the reviews of them being rude was kinda uncalled for. They were nothing but kind and attentive. It is a very quiet and peaceful place , I understand the need for all guests to be maintain the atmosphere too.
Food: amazing, one of the best meals I’ve had in Japan so far ♥️ the pictures below speaks for itself 🥹 private dining room to enjoy the view too🏔️
Loved small touches too like the mikimoto soaps , Dyson hair dryers ( in the public Onsen) And the chopstick souvenirs 🥹
I can’t wait to come back here again with my partner 🤍

The stay was overall above average.
Suggestions for the hotel are
1. Usb ports or travel adapters in the room
2. Reception should ask for our dietary preferences when we check in. Couldn't eat the beef dish provided during dinner
3. Drinks counter at the audio area can be extended to 12 midnight as there aren't really anything to do after onsen
4. Feeder bus timing from Sapporo station can be earlier so we can have more time to walk around the parks and vicinity prior to check in. We had to rush to the park as it gets dark very early during autumn.
