The front desk attendant (young guy in his 30s with curly hair: on Tuesday Jan 10 5pm Rome time @ ARS Best Western hotel): The front desk attendant - he was threatening me with violence and was yelling obscenities telling me to f-off and to f-myself! I work for the embassy and nobody has ever talked to me like that ever! I don’t know what his problem was?? 😔 This is inexcusable / he’s telling me to f myself, and that I’m an *****, and to go f off - nobody deserves to be talk like this, no matter what. It is so sad because I stayed almost a week at this hotel and I really enjoyed it, all the other people were super nice and the service excellent! I am really sad, and I don’t know what the heck happened with this guy - I think he has mental problems & needs anger management therapy. So sad 😞 Ricardo

The location of the hotel was perfect for me. I could take the subway for the bus straight to all tourist attractions. Fewer staffs are very warm; the breakfast is fantastic. You can enjoy Italian coffee. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

The room is not small for an Italian hotel, but the toilet is very small, and the shower is just big enough for turning around. The hotel is on a big slope, about 10 minutes walk from the subway and bus station. It is not recommended to take the subway, because the subway has to go through a very high staircase, which is very tiring to climb. The front desk is very good, and can solve any problems. There are a few options for breakfast, but the taste is good

Hotel 5 minutes from the bus stop although positioned uphill which can be a bit difficult if you are on foot and with luggage. Friendly and helpful staff. Room a bit small but well furnished and equipped. Very nice bathroom although the shower box was a bit narrow. Also the breakfast buffet was excellent.

Since our arrival, the attendant/receptionist was extremely polite and welcoming... the room was comfortable, clean and spacious!

The hotel is a good choice for business trips. Clean, safe and with parking.

There was an old man at the front desk who provided poor service. The network in the room was poor and there was basically no Internet. The room was small and the facilities were old.

A bit dated but room cleaning is good. The only drawback: you could not turn on the air conditioning

Friendly staff, good breakfast, affordable room rates

This is a great hotel in a quiet area of Rome. The subway Conca ‘d’Oro is a 12 minute walk away and in 15 minutes you are at Termini Station or 20 at the Colosseum( price 2€). BETTER than the subway, at 5 minutes from the hotel, in a nice area with shops and restaurants, is the 90 bus ( 1€50 and you just flash your payment card as you enter) . This takes you into Termini Station in 20 min 90 express) or 30 with the non express. The buffet breakfast is good, eggs and bacon, cereal, yochurt, ham, cheese, pastries and nice coffee-open from 7 to 10 a.m. Rome is not the cleanest city I have ever visited, but this hotel was and our double room was large and kept clean and well supplied. All the personnel were friendly and helpful.

Once at the hotel, we had a pleasant stay but for me it’s too far out of the centre, although commutable on the metro which is 10/15 min walk away and 15 mins to centre. Once out of the metro heading to hotel, Google Maps sent us up 98 steps, with a suitcase which was a nightmare! The hotel is in a rather random location, when you’re walking to it you think ‘is it really along here?!’ It’s in a residential area and doesn’t appear to have anything going on nearby so that is a negative I felt, no vibe. Hotel lovely and modern, great breakfast in a lovely room, fab coffee and nice atmosphere, so thumbs up to that but would be really nice if there was a hot drinks machine in the lounge area, we sat up there one night and thought it was a shame that we couldn’t help ourselves to a coffee etc. Definitely need more hooks for towels! There one tiny hook in bathroom, that’s not adequate when you have two big bath sheets. We were ‘told off’ for drying some clothes on the wardrobe doors but there was no other option. In summary, really nice hotel but for me, it’s too far out.

Just what you would expect from a city hotel, all of the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble them, we had an enjoyable stay, it was also very clean and with breakfast included, it is located only a 5 minute walk to the local metro station so was very easy and quick to get to Rome city centre

This hotel is clean and tidy but a little tired. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok, quite a limited choice but could have as much, or as little, as you wanted. We stayed for two nights, and that was enough. It's about a 15-minute walk down a steep hill (you have to walk back up) to the Metro, and about a 15-minute journey to the Colluseum, so not as close to the centre as we would have liked. The hotel is situated in a residential area, and there is nothing in the way of bars and restaurants nearby, although there are some down the hill! This hotel is definitely not for you if you have mobility issues. The '3' marking is based purely on the location.
