"The room was small and the facilities were old, including the comforter, which wasn't good. The hotel's ambiance, a Southeast Asian rainforest theme, was actually quite nice, but the room itself wasn't comfortable. I booked a two-night stay but realized I misremembered my flight date and could only stay one night. I tried to talk to the hotel about a refund for the second night, but they refused, and they also wouldn't refund the extra charge for my child. The service was absolutely terrible."

"A magnificent hotel! It's new, designed in a boho style, and the staff is incredibly well-trained; you can tell they strive to cater to every guest's wish. The grounds are lush, with impressive landscaping. There's a huge, clean pool, and a separate kids' pool. The sunbeds on the beach are very comfortable, and there are cabanas by the pool, with service extended to the sunbeds. The gym is excellent, featuring new Matrix equipment. There are two restaurants: one on the beach and one near reception. They regularly host themed parties and fire shows. The food in the restaurants is delicious, with a vast menu offering European, Japanese, Thai, and Indian cuisines. For kids, there's a kids' club and workshops, some of which are extra. We took a Thai cooking class, and our child absolutely loved it. The beach is rocky in some areas, but if you walk left from the kayak rental, the entry into the sea is good. There are low tides, but they didn't bother us. The only issue with this beach is the sand flies, but that's a problem not exclusive to this beach. For people with allergies, like myself, it would be very uncomfortable. "Koh Chang Cliff Beach Resort I stayed in a room with a private pool. A little splurge on myself! It was so fun to have my own pool, to wake up in the morning and just jump into the water for a little cooling off. I could lay on the recliner and read to my heart’s content with no distractions, feet in the water. Morning breakfasts are fantastic and the beach view is amazing! Staff are friendly and helpful. What to know?: it’s the “Cliff Beach Resort”, which means your on a hill… which means climbing. It’SA steep walk from room to beach, but a great opportunity to get your blood flowing. Embrace it. Room for growth: the bedding smelled a bit sour. It’s wet here, so making sure things dry properly is a challenge. My greatest complaint about the room is that there was a ladder propped up against the backside of the pool wall, meaning someone could climb it right into my private room. A little sketch. The ladder is for maintenance, so I just pushed it off the wall. The pool could use a bit of chlorine as algae was present on the pool walls, but honestly, I’d rather have the non-chemical water. The biggest negative which the hotel has no control over is the nighttime noise. There’s a bar across the street which pumps loud music (starting at 10pm and going til like 4am). The hotel actually gives you earplugs when you check in. So lame. There’s two pools. One up on top of the cliff with excellent views. One down by the ocean. Overall, a pleasant stay."

"Excellent spot for an unpretentious beach getaway. My friends and I spent 2 days here. We really liked the hotel's location – it's nestled in a quiet cove on Lonely Beach, with only 4 hotels in the vicinity, making it quite secluded and peaceful. The atmosphere is truly perfect for a relaxed tropical vacation. Pros: The hotel is perfectly situated right on the beach. The breakfasts are a definite highlight: extensive and varied, with an omelet station (cooked fresh for you) and excellent coffee, which isn't always the case in Thai hotels. We were also pleased with the room rate – quite affordable, even cheap, for this beach, plus there was a free cancellation option. The hotel has a clean pool, beach towels are available, and there's a lovely bar right on the shore. We took many photos of the grounds, breakfasts, and the bar – very atmospheric! Things to note: Yes, the rooms are indeed old and quite worn; a renovation wouldn't hurt. However, for us, this wasn't a deal-breaker: on a beach vacation, we spend minimal time in the room – just for sleeping. The main thing was that the air conditioning worked, there was water, and the mattress was comfortable. If you're similar, this is a great option for you. As for the location outside the hotel: it's quite a long walk to the night market and the local village with shops. If you don't have a scooter, you'll have to trek a fair bit. It's about a 7-minute ride on a scooter, so transport will come in handy here. Conclusion: This hotel is ideal for those looking for an inexpensive and cozy option right on Lonely Beach with delicious breakfasts, who are willing to overlook tired but perfectly functional rooms for sleeping. My rating: 3.5 out of 5."

"Stayed in a Family Bungalow with sea view. The listing states 1 queen and 2 singles but only singles were provided. Staff rectified by joining 2 single beds together for the parents. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay. Breakfast included was good enough, with a few new Thai options daily. The pool area could so with a revamp, sun loungers are old & cushions worn down. Kayaks for rent 150 baht/hour. The food choices on offer can become stale after a few nights. Other options mean travelling into Kai Bae which costs 200 baht each way. Given the location of the resort, It would have been nice if they offered a free shuttle service into town as walking is not an option."

"The hotel is excellent, individual villas stand as if there is no one nearby and no one is passing by. The area is green, squirrel lizards run around, bats fly in the evening) the beach is beautiful, you sit in the shade of palm trees)) pebbles at the entrance to the sea, but if you move to the right, towards the coconut alley, there is a clean sandy bottom. Breakfast is good, large selection and tasty. Of the minuses; far from everything, no way without a bike or car, unless you eat at the hotel or on the shore there are restaurants not far to the left of the beach."

"For me, the location is super successful, thanks to which the incredible views, sounds of nature, its proximity is felt at arm's length. There are no noisy establishments nearby. The rest can be reached by bike! It was a wonderful 3 days, full of beauty, harmony, aesthetics of the infinity pool, beautiful sunsets and representatives of the local flora and fauna. I thank each employee for my wonderful stay"

"The staff were all smiling and very service-minded. The rooms were clean and the food was decent. There was even a fire show at night. Overall, it was great and I was very impressed with the service. In the evenings, there was food available at the hotel restaurant, and the staff were very attentive. When it rained, they constantly helped move the food. I was very impressed. There were even entertainers to welcome guests, and the cats were adorable!"

"Nice room and decent hotel. Breakfast looks better than it tastes. The warm daily dishes are disappointing and there is absence of good Thai food. The bread, deli meat, cheeses, bread and salad choices are fine. Eggs and waffles are made to order and they are fine. Restaurant is not air conditioned and has small fans which add very little ventilation. Had issues twice with air conditioning and tub. Maid kept room very clean and made towels into pretty shapes along with flowers on bed. Made mistake of coming in May and it was miserably hot and most chairs are not shielded from the sun. The beach although beautiful is very narrow and filled with large rocks and coral so not good for walking or swimming. Had to walk down beach to find a better beach area but it lacked shade. If you can get the room without the 300 baht each normal charge I would suggest it. We had one day nearby in a cheaper hotel because we arrived late. Problem we had in May is there very few breakfast choices near either hotel. Very few street food vendors and mainly overpriced western food. Took several days to find good Thai food. I would recommend Koh Kood if you are alone. Better beaches and cheaper foods"
