In the "Cool World" of Mogan Mountain, the birthplace of China’s "foreign-style homestays" (Yangjiale), lies a newly acclaimed boutique homestay nestled in Ziling Village at the heart of the Mogan Mountain scenic area. Named "Mi Le" (meaning "Seeking Happiness"), the homestay embodies the wish for every traveler to find their own joy here. Surrounded by lush forests and perched halfway up the hillside, it offers sweeping panoramic views. The designer blended "Forest Aesthetics + Modern Residential Aesthetics" to create a soul-soothing space themed around "Wood, Stone, and Light." The simplicity of mixed-wood textures, swaying plants, and sunlight casting dancing shadows on white walls intertwine time and space, infusing the homestay with tranquility and texture. "Rise at dawn to witness the morning mist, return at dusk to await the sunset"—every guest at Mi Le is invited to embrace nature’s serenity. The homestay features 7 unique lodging units, 2 of which include private hot spring baths for a cozy indoor spa experience in winter. Shared amenities include a game room, KTV, wading pool, and a children’s sand play area, making it ideal for leisure escapes, family fun, or business retreats. All rooms are equipped with central air conditioning, underfloor heating, full water filtration systems, Kohler sanitary ware, DeRUCCI mattresses, and latex pillows. Fresh local ingredients are used to craft authentic regional dishes. The homestay is within walking distance to Mogan Mountain’s trails, while driving to the main scenic area requires a transfer at the tourist distribution center.
"Few homestays that impress me so much, let's talk about accommodation, dining, travel, and service.
Accommodation:
The interior decoration style of the homestay is simple and atmospheric. There are game consoles, large TVs and sofas in the lobby on the first floor. Many children love to play here.
I booked a private soup room with water, clean and tidy room, with floor heating, air conditioning, private soup, floor-to-ceiling windows, electric curtains, smart TV.
The first thing to wake up in the morning is to open the curtains with the remote control, enjoy the first ray of sunlight coming in from the window, and then enjoy the mountain view outside the window, which is immediately full of vitality.
The water temperature of the private soup is also very powerful. Before you soak in the private soup, you can ask the proprietress for a little petals and the atmosphere is full.
ps: The quality of the toothbrush and toothpaste provided in the room is also very good, and the details reflect the attitude and concept of the store.
Dining:
The homestay provides paid meals. You can ask the proprietress for a menu, mainly some Jiangsu-Zhejiang-style home-cooked dishes, but you have to book in advance, because they do not stock up on dishes and need to buy them on the same day.
We didn't eat at his house, and the dinner was basically settled in Yucun Square. But it must be mentioned that their breakfast is the first day, the dry noodles, white porridge, and the heart egg, and the second day is the small wonton and fried rice cakes, and the heart egg. You may not believe that their breakfast was the best two meals I had in three days in Deqing.
ps: The coffee made by the proprietress is also excellent, if you stay, you must taste it~
Travel: The homestay is about 10 minutes' drive from Yucun Square. Traveling is mainly by Didi or self-driving. It is not very good to take a taxi in the morning. If you travel in the morning (especially if you have to catch the train), it is recommended to book a car in advance the night before. It's still fast to take a taxi in the afternoon, and you can get a taxi in basically 2-3 minutes.
Service: The boss and the proprietress are locals, warm and generous, and the fruits provided are also bought by Hema, not cheaper stalls. The proprietress is particularly talkative. When we cook tea around the stove, we drink tea and eat snacks while chatting. The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. They also actively help when they encounter difficulties, and have to say that they feel full of security.
In general, this stay experience exceeded expectations, just for breakfast and coffee, I will choose their home again next time."
