Pingyao Hotels with Pools

Great place in Pingyao. It is reasonably priced, a bit out of the very center (meaning also out of tourists crowds that can be quite noisy in the evenings and mornings), but still close, has same old-style design as the more popular and well-established places that cater to foreigners, but priced twice as much. Pick-up and drop off service is provided - just contact the hotel in advance via phone using the reception of tour previous hotel - no one speaks English - it will solve your communication issue if you do not speak Chinese. At the place itself everyone is very eager to help - use your phone app to translate. Onwer helped me to buy tickets to Pingyao attractions and Terracota Army as I was heading to Xian next (available only through WeChat Pay that is in turn is not availablefor foreign tourists as of April 2023). If you go to Shuanglin temple, be sure to ask to buy tickets through WeChat for you as well. I was able to buy physical one by pure compassion of local guard who asked the staff to open ticket office just for me (Probably was the only foreigner in Pingyao at a time). Please also note that as of April 2023, the reconstruction works in the historical city parts are continuing, so, large chunks of the city within the walls are not looking as great as it could have been. The very center of the city is mostly untouched though and you can still come and explore. If going in spring, be prepared for the temperature swings. I got a temperature drop from 28C to 3C within 2 days by the moment I got to Pingyao. It was even snowing at night.

Really love the hotel’s a**osphere. It is cool both scenery and weather. There aren’t much noice and people around the hotel, a little walk and you will reach some of the tourist’s attraction. Some employees can speak english or if not, wechat is the best help. They also booked taxi and drop us off by the taxi, the service was wonderful. Will stay here again if there’s a chance of visiting.

Excellent location near the South Gate and easy access to Main Street in the old town. Looks a little rundown but perhaps it was the look it as trying to keep. Unsure. Classic chinese style room (nice!!) with Kang Bed meant for those who are accustomed to hard bed. Toilet and shower are not separated. Provide high speed train station pickup and drop off which are big pluses. Helpful front desk.

This is a homestay transformed from the old house of Hou Wangbin, which is more than 300 years old. Every brick and tile was built at that time. On this basis, it has been carefully designed and renovated. It is a magical thing to live in this 300-year-old house in Pingyao Ancient City and experience the flow of time! The housekeeper service of the homestay is very professional and in place. Not only did they help pick up and drop off the luggage, but they also recommended tour routes and locations according to our time in Pingyao. You must go to the restaurant for dinner. It is said that the authentic Pingyao local chef has been here for more than 20 years. Every dish is exquisite and delicious, and the ingredients are very good!

I took my kids out to play and stayed at Yunjincheng Mansion. It is a very good hotel. Before I came, the housekeeper Juaner contacted me and sent me some travel information. She was very considerate. She indicated the route on the day of check-in. In order to consider the traffic jam problem for the guests, she arranged staff to pick them up in advance. The journey was smooth. The staff took the luggage throughout the journey. I was very satisfied. The service is really the ceiling of the hotel. The room is clean and sanitary, the facilities are complete, and the dean is very unique. A vibrant hotel.

It is the place where I could dive myself into the historical atmosphere, peaceful and gorgeous. They decorate the room with classic furniture which can bring people back to the the past dynasty. I stayed here only one days but I'm sure I will be back. I'm really impressed by their hospitality and service. It's like I'm in my own home. Highly recommended!

The hotel is in a good location, close to Pingyao Theater and the ancient city, which can be reached on foot. The whole hotel has a light Republican style, which is a good choice for people who like quietness. The breakfast variety is not very large, but the quality is good and enough. It is worth mentioning that the hotel staff has a good service attitude. They actively help with luggage when checking in and out. When leaving the hotel, it was cold and rainy, and they also took the initiative to help contact a vehicle to take you to the station.

I like the room very much. It is very comfortable and feels like home. The courtyard is quaint. The owner is very considerate. He picks me up from the station to the hotel for free and gives me a map to introduce the tour route. The breakfast is also delicious and affordable. It is a very satisfying stay. I lived in the house I had always dreamed of. My parents are also very satisfied with the stay.

Good experience in this boutique Hutong hotel in Pingyao . The room is big and extremely comfortable , the breakfast is in a local style , the cleaning is fine and the architecture is amazing . Really easy to get from the central train station and inside the ancient city.

Before check-in, the staff will turn on the floor heating and air conditioning in the room in advance, and also provide pick-up service from the entrance of the ancient town to the hotel. The hotel is located in the middle of the ancient town, which is very convenient for dining and sightseeing. The boss will also provide a map with recommended places written by himself. The items displayed in the room should be the boss's own selection (these selected brands are not used by the owner himself). There are fragrance diffusion products in the house, and the bathroom will have a little smell, but the floor is also heated. I didn't dare to try to take a shower at night, and I felt that the water heater was not assured. And it was a bit cold at night, because the door was not closed tightly, and it felt like there was wind drilling into the room. The breakfast was very rich (flower rolls, steamed sweet potatoes, cold dishes, porridge, milk, eggs). Except for the water heater, the other check-in experiences were very good.
