GGuest UserIf you're looking for a completely relaxing getaway, come to Chongzuo and stay at Lux* Secret Place. Here, amidst the mountains and rivers, you'll find a pure sanctuary, and among the greenery, a peaceful haven. It's also perfect for families with kids, offering a children's playground and a farm, plus fishing – there's always something to do. For adults, there's swimming, a library, a cinema, a bar, and cycling – the only problem is you won't have enough time!
**Facilities:** The facilities are comprehensive and brand new, though the steps in the rooms are a bit high, making them less suitable for the elderly. The children's play area is excellent, and watching a movie alone was incredibly comfortable.
**Service:** Our dedicated butler, Jolly, was fantastic! A handwritten card with a surprising welcome message, she meticulously introduced us to every aspect of the hotel, explaining all the plants in detail. Her arrangements were thoughtful and meticulous – a big thumbs up to her! 👍👍👍 All the other hotel staff also made guests feel very welcome.
**Environment:** Every step reveals a new scenic view; the environment is simply amazing!

##syThe hotel has a beautiful setting, surrounded by picturesque hills and countryside. The afternoon tea, in particular, was meticulously prepared and absolutely delicious. I stayed for two nights, and there are two areas I hope they can improve upon: 1. The air conditioning temperature couldn't be adjusted. It was very hot that day, so I could only use the fan. 2. Dinner service was slow due to the crowd. While I understand and am empathetic, having hot stir-fried dishes served cold was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was still a good stay, and I would recommend it to friends.

MM58634****I originally intended to book only one night, but seeing that the environment and service were quite good, I extended my stay for another night. The hotel is not far from Detian, Tongling, and Longgong Wonderland, and there are plenty of restaurants in the town.

GGuest UserShanyao Xiaozhu Guesthouse may sound unassuming, but stepping into the rooms is a pleasant surprise. First, the cleanliness is impeccable; the beds and rooms are spotless, comparable to a five-star hotel. Second, the service is excellent. The owner is very welcoming and responsive to any questions. When we couldn't find Yushui Dam while driving there, he kindly suggested we call him – a truly kind gesture. The guesthouse is conveniently located near the scenic area entrance, easy to find, and very quiet at night. It even has an elevator, which is rare for a guesthouse. The rooms are particularly noteworthy – each one is large and spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of the scenic area. I couldn't resist taking several photos. The curtains are automatic, the toilet is a smart toilet, and the bedding is excellent. There's also a table, two chairs, and high-quality toiletries, a hairdryer, and slippers. Having traveled extensively and stayed in various hotels of all levels and star ratings, I feel that Shanyao Xiaozhu Guesthouse offers a five-star experience at an economy price. All 14 of us in our group were extremely satisfied.

TTravelwULove at first sight. The view from our rooms was beautiful. The rooms were tastefully furnished. The beds were very comfortable. Clean sheets and towels. Modern amenities. The automatic toilet bowl was amazing. I wished I had one at home in Malaysia. We enjoyed the breakfasts. I am good with the healthy options and free flow of soy milk. I suggest using the ceramic bowl for the hot soy milk instead of the plastic bowls provided. Do bring your own hot water flask. Hot water dispenser available.We had all our meals in the hotel. The food was delicious. Do try the free range chicken with mushroom soup. Very comforting. Our morning walk in the village was lovely. Plenty of vegetable farms. Mr. Wei, the manager was very attentive and friendly. He offered to ferry us to Detian waterfalls for a fee as there were no taxi or e-hailing. Overall, we had a pleasant and wonderful two day stay. Highly recommended.
PS. Do close the two small windows behind the curtains for better noise insulation.

GGuest UserThe area is beautiful. The tent and tent area are very nice. My kids loved it! The receptionist Li Lin 李霖 and the rest of the team are very nice and helpful. Beds are comfortable. The pillow was too high for me, but my husband didn’t complain. If you are light and sound sensitive when sleeping, then bring earplugs and sleeping eye mask, because is a tent, of course. The tent I booked was very comfortable in size for two adults and two kids. It had two queen beds and one single bed. There is tv and amenities (shampoo&Co, toothbrush, shaving kit, hair dryer). Breakfast was Chinese style buffet, which we are happy with. The restaurant belongs to another hotel in the same area (there are several hotels in that park). You can order bbq set. Nice quality meat and veggies. I would recommend this camping area for any family with kids. There is a playground area as well and is nice to walk through the trees.

EEatPrayTravelLocation of hotel is very convenient for travelers who take the tourist bus from either Chungzuo, Nanning or from Detian waterfalls scenic area. The room we booked had a nice view of the fields and karst mountains. What a beautiful sight to behold indeed. During the day, it can get noisy with all the comings and goings in the village and all around but at night, it was very quiet. The rooftop terrace was very nice and not busy when we were there. Breakfast was enjoyable with steamed buns, corn, soup noodles and boiled sweet potatoes- a healthy start for a very busy day. The very nice lady in charge of breakfast offered us breakfast on our check in day (we arrived at 10:30) and made sure we had enough to eat before sending us off to explore! We had never met a B&B operator who was so caring and generous. On our check out day, even though she was still busy with guests, she rushed out to bid us a fond farewell and a safe onward trip. Front desk and cleaning team were all very friendly, always smiling and helpful. All in all, a very warm and pleasant stay at Mingshi Scenic Area.

AAnonymous UserReally lovely guesthouse in the Mingshi scenic area with very warm and welcoming owners. The area is quite peaceful and rural. They make delicious home-style cooking using rice and vegetables grown in their own fields, which you can see at the back of the building.
We stayed here during our visit to Detian Waterfall, and also explored the Mingshi landscapes. The bus to Detian Waterfall passes through the village every morning at 8:30, so you can save some money on transportation to get there.
Our hosts got us free entry to the Mingshi Tian Yuan park in the evening to watch the Zhuang ethnic minority performances. Usually it costs ¥80 entry. They lent us bicycles and it was an easy 5-10 min cycle there.
Overall, highly recommend this place to other travellers!

GGuest UserIt should be a better hotel in the town. The boss also helped me buy tickets at the distribution center the next day. I stayed there for two days. The area around the hotel is quite lively and there are many places to eat.

GGuest UserThe hotel is a little far from Chongzuo but you can hire a Didi for about 380RMB from the chongzuo train station. The hotel is located in a beautiful park where you can take a walk and see the 100 doors (I think it was called) and walk all the way to the border post 3. It's was surreal. Across the river you can see Vietnamese house and people. we waved. a drone showed up we left. To go to the waterfall we walked from the hotel to the tourist center. About a 45 minute walk. Not bad once you get there.
The hotel is old and starting to show the tear. You can tell it was once great but no renovations have been made in forever. The carpet had stains on it. not tiny ones. The little mini balcony was dusty. The bed was big but on the hard side. The towels are frazzling it was unbelievable. The breakfast , if you are not full on on Chinese breakfast its a no no. AND no coffee EVEN though the COFFEE MACHINE looked like it had just been plugged off. sign sating being fixed. come on .It's a 4 diamond rating but it felt more like 2. It's also smaller than it links in the video and pics. There's an awesome restaurant at the entrance on the right. It made a whole lotta difference. Highly reccomend eating here. And we did!Twice. Food was not bad. definitely order the ribs. The staff is nice especially the restaurant lady.
