Very good resort hotel, owned by Marriott, with a private beach and a very good tennis court. It costs less than 500rmb for 2 hours. It's just very hot, so be careful with sun protection

We were in Pine Cliffs for the second time and found the facility, the perfect access to the sea with the lift, the service on the beach to be perfect.
Helpful staff and service staff including shuttle service make the stay very pleasant. The cleanliness is particularly noteworthy.
The very well-kept complex is inspiring. Our 3 room apartment, consisting of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, large living-dining room and 3 large, furnished balconies was exclusively furnished. From our balconies we had a great view of the adjacent golf course and were able to watch the golfers play very well :).

Great location!
Despite the fact that the hotel is far from new, the entire territory, gardens, beach, pools are perfectly well maintained.
The apartment in which we spent 2 nights has everything you need. Very good quality bed linen and new towels, comfortable beds.
The hotel kindly gave us two extra hours after the official check out time.
Lunch at Corda cafe was a little disappointing: no complaints about service, but prices!!! In our opinion, they are very overpriced given the choice and quality of the dishes on offer.
Everything else is excellent!

Pine Cliff Residence We spent 6 nights in the Pine Cliff Residence in June. We had a 2 bedroom, garden access apartment close to the pool area. The website will give you full details of the pools, multiple restaurants and on on-site activities so I’m not going to repeat them here. We made good use of the amenities - padel, driving range, mini-golf, rented bikes and our son attended the on site soccer camp. Each pool had a towel hut and there were always loungers available when we visited the pool area, which was relaxed. The resort shuttle provided an excellent service for the longer trips. The beach access was one of the highlights of our stay. The onsite restaurants are of high quality but can be expensive for a family to eat in for the duration of the stay so we mixed local restaurants, cooking in the apartments with eating at the resort. The favourite restaurants we ate in were Peri-Peri Steakhouse (dinner) and Zest (healthy lunch). There is a small intermarche supermarket just outside the entrance to the resort and some more budget friendly restaurants and coffee shops within short walking distance. Overall, while the stay stretches the budget, was comfortable and enjoyable. We hope to return again.

Great location. Great facilities but totally ruined by wedding parties and events. Sat 5th July impossible to escape the wedding speeches - incredibly loud and overwhelming. The wedding party took over main facilities and created huge noise and commotion almost impossible to avoid. . Very disappointing since this is an expensive resort.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, We sincerely thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are truly sorry to learn that your stay was negatively impacted by external events taking place at the resort. Please accept our sincere apologies for the disturbance and inconvenience caused. While we do our best to ensure that all guests enjoy a relaxing and peaceful stay, we regret that in this instance we fell short of expectations. We truly value your kind words regarding our location and facilities, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future, under more tranquil circumstances, as you rightfully deserve. Please do not hesitate to contact us directly should you consider returning, as we would be delighted to personally assist in making your stay a much more enjoyable and restful experience. With kind regards, Guest Relations Team

We stayed in the Garden Residences and it was exceptional! The accommodation was massive. The staff are amazing. I’m not sure if it changes in high season (August onwards) but in July the shuttle (golf buggy’s or big card) can be called at any time to collect you to transport you to one side of the resort to the other. We often got them to collect us as we were near the kids football pitch (boys loved this ) which is right at the back of the resort. The washing machine and dryer were very fast (within an hour) so that was great. I washed every day (little things). My only gripe is that there was no rack to hang clothes. That is majorly needed as I don’t put all my clothes in the dryer (it did have a lot of settings for delicates etc though). So I ended up using the chairs on the balcony which was fine but not as ascetically pleasing. You don’t want to put damp swimwear or towels in the dryer either after a swim. The only other thing I would say is the cost of food on site is very very expensive but there are lots of places locally that do take away. We had breakfast in the apartment and at the golf club a couple of times and once at Zest as they were reasonable. We did do the buffet breakfast once but very expensive for 5 people at 35 euros . O’Grill in the evenings has a different themed food night each night (Mediterranean, seafood, bbq etc) and that was amazing. It’s approx 55-65 euros depending on the night but you have all the courses and it’s not your average buffet. Each night someone comes to your room to check if you need anything which is a nice touch. The beach has a few activities and my kids did the donut ring which was pulled by a boat. They enjoyed the zip lines which was good value at an hour for 30 or 35 euros. They also did the football camp which was 2 hours a day. They really enjoyed that. The Pools are great. The one near O’Grill was their regular haunt which was good for us as we could sit and have a coffee. Food and drinks can be served to the sun loungers too which is good. Luxury place and beautifully maintained. Would go back.

This review is based on my stay from June 2025 in a 3-bedroom residence as a family that included 3 couples. The Good - Beautiful setting - Ground meticulously maintained - Dramatic beach area Needs Significant Improvement - Maintenance - Housekeeping - Customer service & follow-up We arrived after a long trip from the US and a long drive from Lisbon to check into our villa only to realize that the villa that I booked almost a year in advance using almost 500,000 Bonvoy points also included a €1000 “upgrade fee” when I inquired about what the upgrade was nobody at the front desk could tell me because I already reserved the largest most expensive villa, but they assured me that they would check on it. Upon entering my villa, I noticed that there was a terrible smell in it, the air conditioning wasn’t cooling (which was probably causing the musty damp smell), and the Wi-Fi would not upgrade to the premium high-speed Wi-Fi that my Bonvoy gold standing provided. I immediately notified the front desk about these issues and was assured that they would be addressed. I continued to notify the front desk of these issues twice daily during my stay and they were never corrected, the temperature of my villa never went below 26 C (79 F) The multiple people that were sent to fix the air conditioning told me that it should cool down to 20 C (68 F), but they did not have the expertise to fix it and HVAC experts need to be called – that never happened. Because the air conditioning never worked, the smell never went away, even though they sent someone from housekeeping to mop the floor (not sure what that was supposed to accomplish). Additionally (except for the first night) nightly turndown service of the villa was never performed, despite me bringing the issue to their attention. All in all, this experience is not commensurate with a Bonvoy Luxury Collection Property and when I brought that to the management’s attention they agreed but did nothing to improve my experience. In summary, I communicated the above issues daily to the property, I wrote Bonvoy a letter expressing my dissatisfaction (during my stay) then followed up with the property’s contact point provided by Bonvoy, 3 times (during my stay, 1 week after check out & 2 weeks after checkout) and the responses I received were essentially: - Sorry you had these problems - Thank you for bringing it to our attention so that we can use it as a training opportunity for our staff - We agree that this level of service is not consistent with Bonvoy’s Luxury Collection properties (their highest level) - Be assured that they are looking into why I was charged an additional €1000 for an upgrade that doesn’t exist – note it is now more than a month after checkout and I’ve never gotten an answer to this - I was offered a “special confidential rate” (never quantified) to return to the property for them to provide me the experience I should’ve gotten the first time I understand that issues happen all the tim

This review is in no means a diatribe against Pine Cliffs, but after an 8 night stay with 3 kids, staying in a 2 bed residence apartment, I honestly feel the bad outweighed the good! With a good reputation for a family resort, I was pretty disappointed on a few levels with the place! The price gouging was next level. My advice is to book half board to avoid excessively expensive restaurants. We were grateful to be half board and ate in O'Grill every night which suited us with young kids. I was pretty shocked by some of the staff. They were outright rude and condescending (especially Carolina in Residence reception! Probably one of the worst check-in experiences I've had in years!) There is no concierge in Residence, just an empty desk and a phone that rings out and unanswered emails. What hotel reception closes for the day at 6pm in June?!!! Well residence does...so you need to make your way to the main hotel reception to check out. The staff are also very unknowledgeable about the resort. It's like it's everyone’s first day! Cons - Price gouging: 1. Excessively expensive restaurants with average food. ( examples - €85 for 1 kids pizza, 1 chicken dippers and chips and 1 bland caesar wrap..no drinks! this was lounger service on the Pine Cliffs lawn...€5 for a kids apple juice in Mare...crazy prices) 2. €47 euro for x2 to play tennis for an hour. I've never had to pay for tennis in a 5 star before. It's always included. The cheapest price to play paddle is €60 for an hour. 3. €27 for 2 buckets and spades for beach (we forgot to get them in the shops outside the resort at our own cost!) 4. €130 for 2 people to do the tree-top adventure circuit. we decided to give that a miss! I’m glad I’d checked out the prices before bringing my son there. 5. Football academy (3rd party) was €70 for 2 hours which I felt was over-priced. - Every invoice for the buffet had a "suggested tip" This was off putting to be honest! - There is a lot of walking in the resort, which is fine to get the steps in after a buffet but with kids it’s a lot. In the heat waiting around for shuttles and having to collapse buggies isn't ideal... - The kids club was EMPTY every day! we had thought to use the service for our toddler but there was no way I'd have left her there with no other kids to play with. Very disappointed with Porto Pirata. Also an extra charge here. Alot of hotels would include this in the price. I saw several English kids with Scott Dunn backpacks but unless you book your package with them you can’t use that kids club. - The note on the room safe ' saying it was free" was laughable! What 5 star hotel would charge for a safe? - Better upkeep of rooms needed. When we checked in out room safe was broken and so was a lock on the patio doors. In fairness these were fixed immediately when I called guest services. - The luggage stand was broken and no batteries in the weighing scales which is handy for weighing bags for airport, broken toilet roll holder, Dryer kept s

My experience with Design Holidays and Pine Cliffs residence has been awful. Design Holidays misold us a holidays (the sales representatives said there was a water sport centre with sailing, kayak, jet ski when there is no water sports at all and the location of pine cliffs residence was 7 minutes walk to the beach when in fact it was over 25 mins. We were travelling with my son who has got learning disability… The worst thing is the 2 bedroom luxury suite was dirty and needed repairs (toilet flushing every 5 minutes keeping us awake at night) extractor fan falling from ceiling because of a leak, broken door stop in the bathroom leaving a rusty screw sticking out of the floor etc Design holidays is ignoring my emails and won’t return my phone calls. The manager from Pine Cliffs residence Paolo has told us that they were going to refund us our stay but Design Holidays refused to collaborate. We have been back for 6 days now and so far we haven’t heard or received anything… I wrote this review as I don’t wish to anyone what happened to us !!!!!!

We stayed at Pine Cliffs Residences for 4 nights, booking two 2-bedroom suites for two families. The apartments were spacious, well-maintained, and included a handy kitchenette. The property itself is stunning—expansive and beautifully designed. We had a few minor issues like some lights not working, but the hotel staff responded promptly and resolved them. I had a couple of more serious concerns as well, and Manager Hui handled them exceptionally—professional, courteous, and helpful. We opted for the half-board package. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of options. The dinner buffet was also impressive, though vegetarian choices were quite limited. While we expected a more international spread, the non-veg dishes were a hit with the rest of our group. The indoor pool deserves a special mention, and the overall amenities were top-notch. A couple of restaurants were closed during our stay, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, a great experience—I’d definitely recommend this resort.
