The ensuite onsen was really nice, open air and stone surface (see picture). They have a few non-local staff who were very attentive and helpful, ready to help you even from the moment you drive into the carpark. Food was decent.

Best in-room outdoor onsen you can find. Hotel room has a living area and bed area, it's not that big but no one cares when you have a nice outdoor onsen built by rocks. Food is decent too and service is very good.

Clean spacious room with private onsen. Dinner and breakfast was great. Public area was very pleasant, Kids enjoyed feeding ducks so much. Some miscommunication aboout extra kids, but staff was very helpful to arrange food and bed. Overall the best stay of my trip.

We have a good experience in this Onsen hotel. A lady greeted us at the entrance and she served us very well in the dinner. The private outdoor onsen gave us an enjoyable experience. Moreover, she share many information with us, and she could explain clearly how we prepare to visit Mountain Ah So on next day, so that we finally could visit the cracker no 1. I highly recommended this hotel to anyone visit Minamiaso.

We are a couple from Australia and I only speak a little Japanese. This was a truly AMAZING experience! The staff were so kind and friendly, giving us assistance was no issue for them. The location is stunning, the private onsen was glorious and the dinners and breakfasts were bigger than we could possibly eat (and we love our food). The price point for this experience was so good - fantastic value for money. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a little adventure in the heart of countryside Japan. If you get the chance to also visit Minamiaso (they will take you there at no extra charge) for the day, grab some e-bikes and have a ride around- take in the beautiful scenery and wonderful food options.

Travelled as a family, they made special arrangements for us to have earlier breakfast at 7.30am as we had to depart the hotel to Takachiho Gorge by 8am. Yukata was of the wrong size for my mum and we had a hard time getting the staff's attention to change the size. Food is average for ryokan omakase, my daughter had a change to feed the duck. We enjoyed the onsen.

Good service, first-class food, the most surprising thing is the waiter who can speak Chinese, she is very kind to help with the luggage, and patiently explained the hotel facilities and precautions

Is this spa hotel well equipped? The room facilities are very thoughtful and in place, there is a private hot spring in the room, which is very comfortable. The staff is cordial and hospitable. They took the initiative to introduce the surrounding environment, and there was a row of people relaxing and feeding the ducks for free, which was really interesting. The breakfast was delicious and rich. The staff was very considerate and knew that my grandma didn't eat fish, so they replaced her breakfast with fried chicken. I will stay in this hot spring hotel next time.

It was good. I was confused when they said they only accepted cash at checkout, but I ended up paying with a card! Overall, it was good!

It was a clean and friendly ryokan, and the open-air bath outside the room was especially nice. The dinner had a bit of meat… The breakfast was very pretty, neatly presented, and delicious.

It's so kind. It's clean and the food is delicious. I was worried because I was traveling with my parents, but they were very satisfied. There's a small open-air bath prepared in each room, but it's charming and it was great to go in in the morning and evening and warm up my body. Above all, the kindness of the staff made me feel good. Also, the bedding is great. It's the best.
