Hôtel Mercure Marseille Centre Vieux-Port Reviews

Hotel has nice decorated hall, bar and private parking. Staff at the reception was polite and often did their best answering our requests, but sometimes they were more eager to explain us all the rules and cared not much. Bar closed around 10 pm. It was not a restaurant, most of the dishes from menu were absent and there were not much to eat at all. There were no bathrobe and slippers which is pretty not standard for 4 star hotel. Breakfast was not good. Everyday was one sort of ham, sausages and scrambled eggs, croissants and yogurt with fruits. It always ended at 10. Not even longer on weekend. Staff at the breakfast was so arrogant. I felt superfluous. Cleaning was okey, but very chaotic, they always forgot black tea or towel or paper or etc. Always pushing reading lights into pillows - this is crazy. Room, bed, pillows, bathroom, tea facilities were convenient. Nice pictures of Marseilles, nice colors of the furniture. A/c was good, but not the coldest, though we were in the hot period where it was 40 outside. Windows are not big, no balconies, so it is a little bit gloomy. Shower and wc worked good. There was grocery shop just around the corner and shopping mall. Hotel has strange location though everything seems close on the map, in fact we never walked even to the Old Port, because for us it was too much walking. But it was convenient to use a car with private parking. This made our trip really good.

We had a great time. The room had a bathtub, it was very confortable to stay in. The hotel staff was very helpful. You can get snacks and food from vending machines which is very useful.

The hotel is close to the Old Port, very close to the port, and Galeries Lafayette is next to it. Shopping is very convenient. Bottled water is provided in the room. You can see the Notre Dame Abbey from the window. The taxi starting fee is 200 yuan from Saint Chales Train Station.

A good hotel located in the city center of Marseille, very easy to access, small downside, a large paying car park. The corridors smell unpleasant. Gym, lack of equipment (sports mats and maybe free weights)

The rooms in Marseille are really small. The rooms from Paris to Lyon are quite big. This is probably where the tour groups stay. When I arrived, I saw a large bus. The smallest room on the way. You need to go around to the exclusive parking space under the nearby shopping mall parking lot to park. Go to the front desk to ask the location of the parking lot first. They will give you a map showing the location. The exclusive parking space is in the iron fence. After going around to the innermost part of the parking lot, you need to swipe the parking ticket to enter the parking lot. Remember to scan this ticket at the front desk when you leave the hotel. The parking fee is 20 euros per night. In addition, when I went there, the elevator from the parking garage to the hotel was broken. I could only go around the mall to the hotel. There is a hamburger restaurant next to the hotel. I ate it once and it was really delicious. Marseille is really smelly and it doesn’t look safe. I don’t recommend going to Marseille. In fact, you can live directly in the nearby town. It’s also good. I highly recommend the town of Lourmarin. It’s very beautiful.

The location is very good. Near attractions and restaurants. The view outside the window is beautiful. The breakfast staple food is monotonous, and the complementary food is rich, especially the original honey, which is taken directly from the honeycomb, and it is very sweet. There are also many kinds of dried fruits. The coffee is average. I stayed for a week and slept well.

The room is pretty good, comfortable and clean, but the deposit refund is too slow, it can't be refunded in time, it's been almost 24 hours, and it hasn't been refunded to me... Urgent! Maybe because I'm poor, I feel that the deposit of about 1,600 is not refunded, I miss it very much

The room is not big, the hygiene is OK, not far from the center, and relatively quiet.

Overall very satisfied, especially the rich breakfast. The only drawback is that the elevator takes a long time to wait.

Very well located hotel, which allows you to see several historical monuments in Marseille with great ease and on foot from almost everything, welcoming staff, nevertheless a few remarks: absence of sheet under the duvet, in summer putting a hot duvet is inappropriate, the rooms deserve a small renovation, several holes in the door and on the wall, the shower worked poorly, not very worthy of a 4th hotel, our son's bed was not made when we returned
