Hotel Kingston in Melaka is a very decent hotel.
The room is spacious and staff is friendly.
Free wifi and drinking water dispenser.
Good hot shower, big pressure. Location is great!
Only the building is old (as all buildings in Melaka are) and thus it's not soundproof. I could hear my neighbours and people walking in the hallway (very late, about 1am at night people coming back continuously).
Neighbours taking a shower also causes a loud sound (my shower should be disturbing for them as well I guess). So keep that in mind.
The room is OK, good AC. Hotel exterior is also very nice. It's worth the price if you can find yourself a good deal.

During my recent trip to Melaka, I stayed at one of my go-to budget hotels, Swing & Pillows – Malacca Mahkota Parade
.
The check-in process was smooth and convenient, handled easily through WhatsApp with clear instructions from the host. The room itself was clean and comfy, though admittedly on the smaller side. For a short stay, it served the purpose well.
Overall, it’s a decent budget-friendly option in a strategic location. It would be even better if a water dispenser was provided for guests’ convenience.

If we loved our stay in Malacca, it’s also thanks to this charming little hotel in the heart of the city. The room was spacious, but what made our stay truly comfortable was the bed and the four pillows—we had a fantastic sleep. The overall experience was peaceful thanks to how quiet the hotel is. There’s no visible staff presence, but that wasn’t an issue since no services are offered. The location is excellent, making it a great base to explore the city.

During my recent trip to Melaka, I stayed at Swing and Pillows @ Malacca River Walk. The location was perfect — just a step away from Jonker Street, making it super convenient for exploring this heritage city.
The room was indeed tiny but clean and comfortable, just enough for a short stay. The shared bathrooms were also well-maintained and kept clean, which I appreciated. Overall, a simple and budget-friendly choice with a prime location.
