Marriott Properties in Madrid

Staying overnight for a layover at Madrid Airport, this Marriott was an excellent choice. Unlike most hotels in Europe that only allow check-in in the afternoon, this one generally has a flexible policy. We arrived on an early flight, got to the hotel just past 9 AM, and they happily arranged for us to check in. The service attitude was also great. All the Marriott member benefits were provided, and the executive lounge is open from 7:30 AM to 10:30 PM. Besides hot food during breakfast and dinner, there are also light meals available throughout the day, which is convenient for guests checking in at different times. They even prepared a breakfast bag for us since we had an early flight and couldn't make breakfast. The hotel has a good number of rooms, and the dining and fitness facilities are all comprehensive. The pool was also quite warm. There's a free shuttle service to and from the airport and a nearby shopping mall; no reservation needed, just queue up and hop on. The pickup point at the airport's Terminal 1 is opposite gate 14. When heading to the airport, be mindful that the shuttle for T2 and T1 might not be the same vehicle.

Our first hotel in Spain, and we were very happy with it overall—highly recommend! The room was spacious and comfortable with a fantastic view. Breakfast was extensive, and the churros with chocolate sauce were delicious. The front desk recommended a Spanish restaurant right across the street that was absolutely amazing. The location is good and convenient for getting around. The only downside was the shower design; it only had a half glass door, so water tended to splash out and wet the floor.
