Very bad experience in the hotel. Parking was full and we had to park the car on the street with a parking ticket. The next morning the car was towed away because parking was not allowed on Saturday. Police asked us if they had not warned us at the hotel. They had not. The name of the hotel was not unknown to the police. Apparently several other guests of the hotel have experienced this. Police said that they did not understand this because apparently there was a FREE parking nearby. We were not told about this either. Police also told us that when they go to the hotels to report this, they get the answer that it is their responsibility where the guests park their car. Correct information from the hotel should be a must

Response from Property: Dear, We are sorry to read that our establishment is rated following your parking experience. As indicated on the website and on your confirmation, our private car park is on reservation and subject to our availabilities. We have daily customers who park in the outdoor spaces, all free of charge during the night. We have along the hotel et in front enough parking spaces. You mention parking prohibited on Saturdays, and the only place where parking is prohibited on Saturdays in Macon is the market square, a 15-minute walk away. This prohibition is mentioned by a very large yellow sign, and in several languages, we are very sorry but cannot ensure this responsibility. Also it's strange because our customers don't park in this parking lot, there are so many spaces much closer.I stay at your entire disposal for any other exchangeKindest regardsCalliopé Bouvard

I was driving from Lyon to Paris via Macon. I was exhausted and chose this hotel to rest for a day. The hotel was renovated from an ancient building. The breakfast was very rural and I had a great chat with the hotel manager. Ps: When booking a room, you must confirm the parking space with the hotel in advance, otherwise you can only park under the tree across the road.

This is an absolutely wonderful hotel! The staff are helpful and nice. The breakfast is AMAZING. Try the local yoghurts and fruit compotes. They offer parking, but make sure to book ahead and be prepared to squeeze into small spaces.

This is one of many Grand Old Hotels that Best Western has refurbed in Europe. This was an unplanned stop with no advance reservation. We arrived late in the day, tired, grumpy, and were treated very kindly. Desk staff had good English. The desk gave us our Best Western discount! Breakfast was an additional E13 each and secure parking was E18. Many hotels in Europe charge for parking. The room was big, nice, clean and well equipped. There were no wash cloths but the best towels of the trip. There was AC with its own thermostat, a safe, kleenex and mini bar. There was a lift and then a bit of a walk to our room. Hotel has access from underground parking area. This is a typical BW rehab of an older property that preserves as much original charm as possible while providing modern conveniences. Breakfast was the typical lay out of hot and cold, the only disappointment sub par coffee. Don't let the exterior appearance fool you, this is a very nice hotel. Parking was very secure. Don't be intimated by the photo or the ramp. This arrangement is typical in France and easily done with a little practice. Perhaps we're too picky but we had a hard time finding dinner. Maybe we should have wandered further from the hotel. Our Domino pizza was disappointing because it tasted too much like USA pizza and not like European pizza. We would gladly stay here again.
Response from Property: Dear, We thank you so much for taking the time to leave your review. Thedetails you mention reflect our hotel very well and we are delighted to read that you were seduced by the atmosphere of this old building! Just to clarify... our buffet breakfast is offered at 19€ and parking is 20€ in our private courtyard. Hoping to see you again soon Kindest regards

What a beautiful hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Location is perfect overlooking the river Saône and a few steps away from the town centre, its shops, bars and restaurants. The art deco style interior oozes luxury, well chosen pieces of furniture and period mirrors adorning the walls. Breakfast is so worth having, home made yoghurts, compotes and jams, a selection of local honies, freshly squeezed orange juice and an array of breads, viennoiseries and cakes. Not to mention the hot options. Altogether a fabulous hotel.
Response from Property: Madam, What a wonderful feedback! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave it. The whole team is really pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again soon

I had a lovely one night stay. The lady at reception when I arrived at 5.30pm on Wednesday 27/9/23 was lovely, really helpful and explained things really well, her English was also good which helped as my French is minimal. The room was great, overlooked the river, beautifully clean and well equipped. Perhaps could do with a small chair to sit at the dressing table (the comfy chair was too low and to work whilst sitting on the bed not ideal). The only other thing would be that the toilet is situated so close to the wall there was little room to manoeuvre but I managed. The shower was great. Breakfast was very nice. I paid for a secure parking bay plus I was traveling with a small dog both of which was at an extra cost but it was reassuring to have this sorted in advance. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

The outside of the building doesn't reflect the inside, which is really lovely. Private parking at the hotel is 20 euros a night, however there is plenty of parking opposite, which is free. We were greeted warmly and our room overlooking the river was beautifully decorated and very clean. We didn't opt for breakfast at 19 euros per person as I had taken plenty of tea and coffee and we chose to eat later. Easy walking into Macon and there is a little tourist train, which lasts 45 minutes and there are conversations for disabled. On the second evening we ate at Pizzacine a short walk from the hotel and the food was excellent, freshly prepared and one of the best crème brulé we have ever tasted.

This is a lovely hotel. The staff are very warm and helpful. The decor is beautiful. We stayed for one night and found everything to our liking and we would stay again. There is no restaurant in the hotel but there is plenty of restaurants a few hundred metres away. They do have a small bar so you can have a drink.
Response from Property: Dear, We thank you for taking the time to write this superb feedback. The whole team hope to welcome you again in Mâcon Kindest regards

While passing through Macon we had the great pleasure to stay at this beautiful boutique style hotel. We were greeted by two fabulous ladies, one the owner and other the receptionist who made us feel so welcome I almost felt I knew them ! You don’t always get this level of hospitality so I can only say to anyone passing through or staying in Macon to visit this wonderful little hotel. Thank you again for your wonderful welcome and making our stay in Macon extra special. Oh and breakfast is delicious 🤤 Trasa and Robert (Ireland)

This is a charming old hotel, and has been very well modernised. Parking in the courtyard is very useful. The breakfast was excellent. The air conditioning is good, which matters in summer. Would definitely recommend it to anyone driving south through Burgundy.

This is a cute, old-style hotel like they don't make them anymore. It's a hotel created many decades ago when travelling was style glamour. Little nooks and crannies everywhere, friendly staff and a pretty good breakfast. The rooms are a tad small, or rather the bathroom/toilet are small. In fact, the toilet in the deluxe room was set against the wall, so if you're wide, it's a problem sitting. The room could do with a refresh, like a few power points close to the bed for charging your phone, ipads, etc. Slightly brighter colors would make it a bit more liveable, especially the carpet. Although we were on the street side (river view), the room is very well isolated, and we did not hear any noise. Airco works great. Inside parking is good, despite a bit cramped and there are EV chargers.

This hotel has seen its better days. Last time we stayed at a far better Macon-hotel for the same price. This looked good in the pictures and reviews had us fooled. This is ok if you-like us-only need to sleep before going somewhere else. The location is by the river but road is heavily trafficked so you can’t have windows open. Too bad because room smells of old smoke and perfume.
Response from Property: Madam, We thank you for your comment. Unfortunately we cant find your reservation with your profile. Also, reception has not received any feedback regarding the odors you mention. Could you be so kind to contact us in order to identify the room you stayed in? We are sorry not to have been able to meet your expectations and hope to hear from you soon Kindest regards

Dis not allow guests to change the temperature in the room which was set uncountably warm. Led to a terrible nights sleep.
Response from Property: Dear, We thank your for this feedback. You slept during a night where we have 12 degrees outside. It is true that with these temperatures the air conditioning does not work, but rather the heating. I'm sorry to read that you didn't enjoy your night. The interior temperature did not exceed 20 degrees, even the air conditioning could not have gone below. Kindest regards

Old world charm is the first impression, Calliope greeted us , our reserved parking was right at the door into the hotel from the car park. Easy check in even though our room not ready. Calliope was concerned that the room we had booked may not be big enough as the bed was the size of an English double, but it was fine although it had only a tiny window, but as there was no real view it wasn't a problem. Tea/coffee facilities in the room & planet friendly water bottles were very welcome. No milk/cream pods, we don't take it but Brits might find that odd. I found the shower slippy underfoot, but as soon as I mentioned it at reception I was given a brand new shower mat, excellent. Really very good breakfast is available at 18€ pp. The terrace on each floor is nice to sit out but under cover, which did as it was raining but not cold. Very nice stay.
Response from Property: Madam, Thank you for this feedback. In fact I wasn't sure if this room was big enough for you, you were staying two nights! Im pleased to know that you were charmed by this little cocoon. Hope to welcome you on your next stop in Mâcon Best regards

The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one. Thank-you! They booked restaurants and organised parking at the last minute, which made life much easier than expected. The room was also a pleasant surprise and easily accommodated a family of four. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, We are so glad to read your feedback, thank you so much for all your compliments. Indeed we do our best to make your stay as pleasant as possible, we are very touched by your comment! Thank you again and hope to see you soon Best regards
