This hotel is clean and spacious. The rabbits that they keep are so cute. My wife loves taking photos with her snoopy toys with the rabbits. Also, the lady manager is very professional! And thanks for the anniversary gifts. The wine was very good.

Booked this property after an extremely bad experience (to the point we did not stay and booked Sofitel for the night) at The Grand Luang Prabang. Not much to state other than it was a great experience. The outdoor bath was great and although facilities are old, they did the job. Breakfast was subpar, with minimal variety though the view was amazing. Probably the most pleasant surprise was the rabbits at night time, and the occasional snake.

it is a very beautiful hotel with a beautiful garden view. i enjoy my stay here. also all my family members. the hotel has many friendly staff and especially my thanks to mr. Te vard nouding leng. we will definately come back and choose the hotel again! they also help us book the tour and reserve the restraurant. thank ypu for everything. we recommend our friends to choose this too!

We are very happy with our stay at the Sofitel of Luang Prabang, very warm welcome from the arrival until our departure. This is a very quiet and relaxing hotel with plenty of serene atmosphere, which we were looking forward to get during our stay. As it is a bit out of the city center with 5 minutes drive or 10 minutes by tuktuk, they do offer free shuttles from 6pm to 9:30pm to town or back. Courteous staff, helpful and friendly people. Breakfast is simple, not gargantuan, sufficient enough, they offer free 5 minutes massage when you arrive for breakfast if you desire to have one… The pool and garden are beautiful and well maintained. All in all, good values and good vibes from this place, we will return and recommend it to our friends to go.

Our stay had a lot of high points and a lot of low points. Starting with the high points, the grounds and room were incredible. Our experience at the spa was one of the best we’ve had. The cocktails and Laos-style burger we had for lunch one day were phenomenal. The staff were charming and very accommodating. However, there were a few aspects that were far below the experience expected of a 5 star hotel. First, cocktail service around the pool was abysmal. On almost every occasion we had to go searching for a staff member to take our order, and then the cocktails more often than not took more than half an hour to arrive. This is despite the fact that we seemed to be the only people ordering F&B at that time, i.e. they were not busy at all. Second, the breakfast was a disappointment every day - we were told we could order eggs or noodles, and had to repeatedly press the staff to find out what type of eggs and noodles, and we only discovered on the last day that there was a menu with additional options. We ordered poached eggs on toast, and the eggs had not been drained of excess liquid, and the bread was entirely soaked through. An order of waffles took over an hour to come out - first it was delivered as a pancakes, and then they just forgot about it despite repeated follow ups. The “local” Laos options lacked flavor - very little of the herbs and spice that makes Laos food great. I think this and the pool service issue are primarily the result of a lack of training and instruction for staff - they were clearly doing their best, but did not know what to do. Third, the pool area needs a lot more spent on maintenance. The decking is cracking and falling apart. The mosaic tiles in the pool are falling apart, A LOT of the tiles are missing, and I got a very large laceration on my forearm from the sharp edge of a tile sticking out. If this pool were in a western jurisdiction, it would not meet health and safety standards. Fourth, the gym was not worth visiting if you want to lift weights. Possibly the worst weights offering I’ve seen for a hotel of that price and with that much space. We want to reiterate how great and enthusiastic the staff were. I think this is primarily a management oversight, training, and maintenance capex issue.

The hotel is a historical building with a good overall environment and large rooms, but the interior looks a bit old and the light is dim. The price is a bit expensive for May Day. The hotel's bunnies come out in the evening and are very cute. You can pay to participate in the morning charity activities.

Sofitel is unique in Luang Prabang. Just as Tao Yuanming described in Peach Blossom Spring: At first it was very narrow, but only then could people pass through. After walking a few dozen steps, it suddenly became open. After checking in, walking through the corridor, you will immediately feel like you are in a paradise. The 26 rooms are arranged in a square circle, with a tree-lined courtyard in the middle, a 25-meter lotus pond on one side, and a swimming pool of the same size on the other side. All rooms are suites with courtyards and outdoor baths. The rooms are simply furnished, clean and beautiful, and the service is very thoughtful. The only drawback is that there is only one restaurant. However, 3 Naga is a sister hotel, and the hotel provides free shuttle bus to the hotel, which also increases the restaurant selection. I love the hotel because I love the city.

I have stayed at Sofitel hotels several times, but this was the one that left the best impression on me. For the price, the service was good, it was clean, and the staff were attentive to my needs.

The hotel environment is elegant. The swimming pool is very beautiful. There are little rabbits on the lawn. I signed up for the early morning alms giving activity. It was a very unique experience.
