Amazing

Centrally located just across the Luang Namtha night market. Friendly, efficient and professional staff. Breakfast was included in the room price. Breakfast had 4 different options to choose from rather than having to repeat same thing over again. Fresh and tasty food. There’s a restaurant with a lot of options to choose from. From the most of the dishes we tried, we can recommend all of the options specifically Lao food and pad Thai.
Room was spacious, clean. Good air conditioning, ample hot water but the water pressure at the bathroom seriously need improved. Takes so long to have a simple shower. Comfy big bed with comfortable mattress. Nice comforter too. Loved the interior of the room. There was a feeling like we went back in time. Daily housekeeping. Free water bottles, free toothbrush and soap provided. We liked the outside sitting area with a table and 4 chairs.
We stayed at Zuela for 4 nights. We could get the tickets and help to go to Muang Xai from them too. They book bus, van tickets and tuk tuk service. Overall our stay was comfortable. We are happy we visited Luang Namtha and Zuela guesthouse. We recommend them dearly.

The matrass was foam, had a hole where laying down. The shower had almost no pressure. The door did not good close, because it was a kicked in door, that was poorly repaired. Only positive was the service of the staff, and the guesthouse restaurant. Dont reccomend to sleep in that guesthouse

Zuela Guesthouse is located at the very center of the small town of Luang Namtha. It’s right opposite to the Night Market which is great for a late night dinner after a long trek. Around the guesthouse are also all the major tour agencies with whom you can book tours. The place itself is nice, with traditional wooden architecture and nice bedrooms. Operating staff is very young and a bit inexperienced, so it can take a bit longer to get things through, but not a major issue to enjoy the stay. Breakfast has 4 different choices, each one is good. Beds are relatively comfortable but could use an upgrade in terms of mattresses and insulating rooms from outside. Big plus, they offer mountain bikes, scooters as well as dirt bikes for rent! Overall a very nice stay keeping in mind the location and the very limited options around.

I write this review while staying at the guesthouse for the second time this month. My sister and I are seasoned Asian travellers and find this guesthouse to be delightful and everything we expected. Located just off the main road in a side alley, it is amazingly quiet and peaceful. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Rooms are cleaned daily, the laundry service is excellent and fast and the included breakfast is the best we have had in Laos. There are even four different breakfast options you can choose from. Our room is small but cozy, with a good bed and comforters. Hot water in the shower is always available. There is even a refill water station so you don’t have to deal with those polluting plastic water bottles that proliferate. The attached restaurant serves great food. Frankly, we have no complaints and highly recommend it to anyone who isn’t expecting a five star hotel at a budget price. Those travellers should limit themselves to Luang Prabang and Vientiane.

We left this hotel after two nights (and stayed two nights only because it was prepaid). This is only the second time ever that we've ever left a hotel early. This is not a hotel or even a hostel, it is a hovel. It is truly terrible - the worst of dozens of hotels we've stayed in SE Asia over the years. Based on the ancient electrical equipment, it must be at least 20 years old, without much maintenance. We were already aware of how terribly noisy the place is, as well as the unfriendly staff from previous reviews, but we were not prepared for how disgusting the room was! The room was very old, smelled bad, poorly maintained with broken furniture, the bed did not have a real mattress (only a foam pad), the bedding was not very clean (we suspect they don't change the bedding), the door security latch was broken, towels smelled bad, bathroom had cobwebs and did not even have any soap, there was only a filthy floor mat and there were mosquitoes in the room. We were just praying that there would be no bedbugs! Also, do not rent motorcycles from the rude boy at the reception. It was the most expensive rental of our month long stay in Laos - for an old, very beat up gas guzzling scooter.

Uncomfortable room: no reading lights. Only one overhead light. Only a heavy comforter was provided that was too hot. Shower had minimal amount of water and pressure. Sink hardware were not cleaned each day. Only one nightstand was provided for one side of the bed. Room size was fine. Bed was fine. Building is attractive from the outside and paintings in the room and the rattan ceilings were attractive. Restaurant was excellent, offering a variety of tasty and healthy foods for each meal.

Didn’t stay here but ate here a couple of times. I liked the tranquility of the place as it’s set back a bit from the main road and the prices are good as is the food. WiFi worked well the first time such I could make a WhatsApp phone call but not the second time.

For Lao standards it is ok. But there is no garden and the staff consists of minors who with one exception don't speak English at all. A clear case of child labor. The rooms are ok but the rooster in the next garden starts crowing around 5 am and you need proper ear plugs to get sleep a bit longer.

The owner is super-helpful and speaks good english. Our first stay first room was fine. Our second stay second room had poor screens and we were bitten to death. The restaurant is nothing impressive, don't bother with espresso drinks. In conclusion, the place is average super-cheap Laos, but you always have to check screens, A/C, and for towels. I would have given it three stars but the owner is super-accommodating (e.g. allowed us to rent bicycles for 1/2 day not normally offered). PLEASE NOTE you can avoid plastic pollution by refilling from cooler at checkin desk and NOT using the plastic water bottles provided in room.

A very welcoming stay and lovely people. This was our second guesthouse in Namtha and definitely the most comfortable. The onsite restaurant was well stocked and he food was tasty for breakfast lunch and dinner. Very conveniently located. The rooms were plain but clean and the services of on-site bike rentals, and laundry made this a better choice for my group than our first stay. The family is very nice and helpful. Thank you for a great visit to the region! If you can get one of the front rooms the balconies are very nice.

Zuela guest house is a comfortable and pretty place to stay. The service is good even though few staff speak English. The rooms are plain and perfectly clean. The restaurant serves tasty food. Zuela is well positioned just around the corner from some of the main hiking companies. Great value for money.

I read about Zuela GH on a Lonely Planet guide. Once arrived in Luang Namtha I checked out this property and I really appreciated its architecture and facilities. The room I got was very big, comfortable and with ensuite bathroom. At the end of the main aisle you will find a bright, broad and comfortable porch. Seats are really nice. Next to the reception there is the restaurant of the guest house. Food is mediocre and expensive.

I've probably stayed here five times since I first reviewed the property in 2017. It is a popular choice for western tourists and backpackers and has everything a traveler needs including a restaurant, bike and motorcycle rental, and laundry service. I was very pleased to have dropped off my laundry late in the afternoon and received it at 07:00 the next day. The rooms and bathrooms are simple, typical of budget accommodations that can be found throughout the region. However, they are clean enough and perfectly fine for a night or two. At a walk-in of 150,000 LAK, I really couldn't find anything to complain about.

Transit guesthouse for travelers, very central, right next to the market and Discovery office. Food was good. Rooms very basic, lots of mosquitoes and loud. Staff is very helpful. Price/performance ratio is good. We paid just under $20 including breakfast. Luggage storage possible while away on trekking tours. Bus ticket including tuktuk pickup can also be organized, but of course it's more expensive than going on your own. We stayed there for 2 nights, once in house A and once in house B. House B was better equipped and, above all, quieter.
