The most fun I’ve had in an inn/hotel/guesthouse in China, more fun than the hostels - the host speaks great English but most importantly is a lovely and warm person (and hilarious and fun and a general boss) and showed me around Shuhe, making me feel like a local. My only regret is that I didn’t stay for longer, absolutely incredible vibes from the moment I arrived.
If you’re looking to stay in Lijiang and get out of the touristy Lijiang old town, stay in Shuhe and stay here, just do it you won’t regret it.

Overall a nice place to stay in but soundproof is sort of poor. Footsteps up the stairs and conversation can be heard at night, hence not so suitable for light sleepers.
Friendly host greeted us with nice local snacks upon checking in and location is great. They have a cute dog there as well...
