Hampton by Hilton Hotels in Lijiang

Hotel is located outside of ancient city but it is quite convenient to get ride-hailing service. Breakfast is good, especially the flower biscuits. The hotel provides free laundromat. There is no indication of the floor which the elevator is on. You have to listen to the ‘ring’ sound. There is no ring on some floors; perhaps it’s faulty or otherwise. There are 2 elevators. The clearing of the soiled dishes (during breakfast) via carts, can be noisy and unsightly. The room toilet bowl does not have auto-flush function.

I booked a two-day extension to prevent any changes in my itinerary. I hadn't noticed the two reservations were for different room types. I had originally intended to extend my stay, but I guess it was a few days before the holiday and there were a lot of tourists, so I had to switch rooms. Because it was raining, I was planning to stay at the hotel all day and wanted to move to a quieter room with a better view (I had asked the front desk the day before for help getting a room closer to the elevator). The next day, the first room I was given looked like it was under construction outside the window. I'm grateful to the front desk for their patience in showing me two more rooms. I had a high-speed train early the next morning, so when I left, I thought it was breakfast time at 7:00 PM and I'd grab breakfast before leaving. I hurriedly pushed the door open to ask if I could eat. The waiter asked for my room number and said yes (without mentioning it wasn't breakfast time). I sat down and saw it was only about 6:45 PM. 😂 Thanks for letting me eat early...
