Sora Niwa Terrace Kyoto Reviews

This was the best hotel we stayed at during our Japan trip. It was super clean, amazing location and had a free onsen for hotel guests to use! After a long day of discovering Kyoto it was nice to be able to relax in the Onsen. Room was nice and clean too. Service was also always super friendly! Hotel also had an amazing rooftop terasse with a nice view!

Hotel rooms in Kyoto are usually a little smaller, but we had an excellent and comfortable stay here. It’s close by to a railway station, and is also closer to the old town of Gion. It’s walkable to some of the best meals we had in Kyoto, and the general environment is just much more peaceful. Inside the hotel, there’s a full onsen experience available for guests, and complimentary welcome drinks on the rooftop overlooking the city. We actually stayed at two different hotels in Kyoto, one next to Kyoto Station, and this one. We much prefer Sora Niwa. I cannot recommend a stay here enough.

It's an awesome place to stay in kyoto. Location is perfect for shopping and sightseeing. Love the roof top foot bath and onsent. Will definitely come back again !

Hotel’s reception is on the 9th floor where guests can have public hot spring bath. Separate gender. They provide kimono, jacket and wooden clogs to walk around. Coin laundry at basement. Free drink from 1600-1830 hr at the rooftop bar. View is amazing with sunset. Hotel is located centrally to the temples and two stations.

Very morden and clean onsen hotel in the heart of Kyoto. Top floor open roof bar is sensational. The osen is good. Free drinks at hotel lobby are extra perks. On-site washing machine and dryer are great.

Stayed for 4 nights. Location is very convenient with many food options around. Beautiful rooftop view and friendly staff. Will definitely go back again.

Comfortable stay with an impressive terrace on roof top where you can chill out with the view of Kyoto while soaking your feet, so comfy! Bar time in the evening at the terrace. Small hot bath area yet peaceful ambience. Small room but well equipped. They suggest to store the luggage under the bed but personally found that it isn't practical for big luggage. Otherwise the mattress is comfortable and the provided amenities are all fine for the stay. Good location even department stores, shops, restaurants, public transportation, attractions, Gion and etc are in walking distance but still silent enough and I had a good stay here. Also taxi stop is just right in front of the hotel entrance. Luggage can be store after check out but please check with the time for picking up with the staff.

The location is superb as it is close to scenic spots and large department stores. Good restaurants are available in walking distance. The staff was nice and the hot spring is spectacular. The sky lounge is like a heaven. Recommended!

Everything was excellent except for the hidden fees and the clothing sizes. Its geared more towards smaller people and that's okay, but what about when someone large shows up? There's also an extra tax that was not mentioned so budget accordingly and a fee to utilize the main attraction which was the roof top.

Everything is perfect except for the room is filled with grilled teriyaki sauce when we came back to the hotel in the evening, cause we left the window opens for ventilation.

Terrace has nice view and onsen is nice after a long day of walking Check in went smoothly and stuff was nice.

I'm very satisfied to stay here as I met my expectations. A very good location to go out any places. Very convenient.

They hv new arrangement for the welcome drink, although we don’t hv time to use it every time, but it is a bit not strange, one welcome drink per room per day no matter you are single or double occupancy

Impeccable great location of the most ventre of all the shopping spots located. The hotwl,itself equipped with all the detail in regard of interior design, free service and hospitality staff.
