We stayed at this guest house in early March. We were delighted! The guest house is located near the bus stop, you can walk and enjoy the views of the village. There is also a transfer. The dinner was simply gorgeous, delicious miso, a large selection of vegetables and broths. Breakfast was also good, although not so varied. Very beautiful garden. The guest house itself is in a traditional style 😍 the owner gave us instructions and a tour, was very polite and friendly. The guest house has some rules, for example, keeping quiet, which creates an atmosphere of complete relaxation. The room itself is clean, the bed linen is fresh, there are instructions on how to lay out the futon. We were given yukatas and warm sweaters, towels and accessories for washing and brushing teeth. There are hair dryers too. There are two onsen, male and female, they alternate to visit each. When we were there, the onsen opened on schedule, but there is enough time to stay. The barrel with hot water is simply gorgeous, in the open air, around the forest. It is forbidden to take photos and videos on the onsen territory. Sorry for breaking the rules, but I wanted to capture this beauty at a time when no one was there. The only thing I missed was some kind of bench next to the onsen in the open air so that you could cool off and sit in the hot water again. But this is probably a purely Russian habit. We were very pleased with our stay in this guest house.

We don't recommend anyone because this hotel is not honest. We didn't get the room we paid for. When questioned, they said tomorrow will change to a bigger room. But what about the refund??? We were refused a refund even though it's not our fault. Maybe they think they can short change tourists but this won't work in the long-term. As news spread, they will get the bad karma.

The hotel is warm & cozy. Staff are friendly & helpful. They offer breakfast & dinner so it's good to stay here during Japanese New Year time when some restaurants are closed for holiday.

Very nice family place! You can feel life in a regular Japanese house. Spacious room with a wonderful view, kotatsu and futons. The toilet is small and separate on the floor, but it is not a problem. In the hot springs there is a bath both inside and outside. The barrel is especially cool because it is separate and you can admire the forest. We arrived on a cold day, so we got maximum pleasure. Dinner was traditional in the common room, where everyone had a good time. Hot pot with signature miso is very tasty! Breakfast is also traditional and tasty. Since we do not eat raw eggs, they made us a delicious omelet instead. Thank you for your care! It is located a little far from the bus stop, but the views along the way make up for the distance. We were taken back to the bus station by car. I recommend staying for a couple of nights to enjoy it to the fullest!

I stay here every time I go to Ohara. It's simple but clean. The miso hot pot for dinner is delicious.

This is my second time in Ohara. This time I chose this hotel. The environment is comfortable! I will come again if I have a chance.

Fantastic place and people. First time at the hot springs, really enjoyed it. Tattoos are allowed. Got there without any problems.

Overall it was good. It was clean and the hot springs were well managed. However, the outside wind was so strong that it was very cold even though it wasn't winter.

The staff was very friendly, and the Japanese culture (food, breakfast, dinner, tatami rooms, clothes, etc.) and the indoor and outdoor hot springs were very nice. The outdoor hot springs were nice to look at while looking at the view. We went by rental car and got there without any problems, but when using public vehicles such as buses, you have to consider the distance, travel time, etc.

The moment I checked in, I was shocked by the simple room, the super small public toilet, the old bathhouse with old facilities, and the slightly musty old house. It was not until I was on the way back from visiting Rurikoin that I realized that I was living in a museum. When I opened the door, I met the smiling and friendly waiter again. The living room was already a picture of a happy United Nations banquet. Travelers from all over the world were eating hot Japanese hot pot at their respective tables, and they were once again infected by this warm, integrated, and family-like atmosphere. It is worth recommending to stay for one night (the sanitary conditions can still be overcome for one night), and the surrounding Sanzen-in Temple is also worth a visit!

Because it is deep in the mountains, the natural environment is very good, and you can reach Jikkoin Temple within a few steps. The hotel has a very traditional Japanese style and a good experience. However, it is extremely dark at night, and it can be said that there is no one within a hundred miles ∠( ᐛ 　∠)＿. In terms of transportation, it can be described as going up and down the mountain. You need to take a car to Kokusai Kaikan Station and transfer to the bus to Ohara. A bit far from the city. The hotel has a different hot pot for dinner every day, all with miso as the theme. You can also taste Ohara's unique miso ice cream. In terms of service, the receptionists are very enthusiastic. The reserved room is surprisingly large, more than enough for 4 people. The open-air hot spring is very artistic, but it's a pity that I can't get up and take a dip during the day. The scenery will be very good. I don’t know if it was a special service, but there was an extra dish of appetizers for breakfast on the day of check-out. Breakfast is also very traditional Japanese style. There are also some shortcomings. You can be more careful when explaining the check-in information. There is a bathroom outside where you can brush your teeth. We only discovered it when we passed by after taking a bath. The next day, new yukata towels were placed directly at the door. I almost didn't notice them, but the opportunity to use them was already missed. Finally, if you live in Ohara, it is best to spend a day here to play.
