MIMARU Kyoto Nijo Castle Reviews

Nice hotel to stay with family. Location is not perfect but walkable to Nishiki market, Pokémon Centre and Daimaru. We also able to find parking every night, so it’s not a bad idea to drive . But compare to Osaka branch, this one is a bit small and only got limited family rooms so we have to sleep on the futon bad for 4 nights which is not that comfortable. They only make up and change the bed sheet on the 4th and 7th night, this is the only thing that I have a little bit complaint. The cleaning part can be improved. Overall is a pleasant stay , staff are also nice . Will definitely choose Mimaru for my stay in Japan!

What a pleasant stay! MIMARU Nijo Castle was beyond perfect. Fully equipped, with all amenities, super clean and convenient to transportation. The washing machine and the fully equipped kitchenette made our stay convenient. However, it’s the staff that makes this place special! Mention of honor to Louis, who welcomed us with warmth and kindness. He allowed us to check in earlier, that felt like a treat! Once he discovered what kind of travelers we are, he prepared a list of places of interest, complete with pictures, information and QR codes. The rest of the staff also helped with information and taxi (thank you, Kevin!) Highly recommended!

Perfect spot in terms of location & clean room and beds! Front desk service was very prompt and helpful

Daily Housekeeping is only for clearing of trash and changing of towels. Cleaning of the floors and making of bed is only once every three days. Cooking utensils are all provided and very convenient. Hotel is quite a distance away from the subway station. However we drove, no parking available at the hotel so we had to park at nearby public carpark. Staff were nice and well mannered. Enjoyed the stay at Mimaru Nijo Castle! Just wished the complete housekeeping is made daily. Would love to come back to a nicely made bed while we’re on a holiday. But overall it was a pleasant stay!

Clean, Nice and cozy apartment hotel! The only cons is near the main road which can be a bit noisy.

I had a wonderful time with my family at Mimaru nijo castle. The best part of the hotel was the customer service. The staff went the extra mile to help us out and we were absolutely impressed by that. Special thanks to Zun at the front desk team. You made our family trip really special.

Room is comfortable. One thing bad is the heating water system is hard to understand for foreigner. I suggest to take a video to teach customers.

Facilities: Complete, refrigerator, kitchen, washing machine and dryer Hygiene: Overall good Environment: Street-side, very quiet. There are many convenience stores downstairs, and there is a Sanjo Club nearby, which is very convenient for shopping and eating. Service: Very good.

For family trips, you must find an apartment hotel with a kitchen and washing machine. The layout and size of the rooms at Meimanrujia exceeded our imagination. Although it is still not as clean as a hotel, it basically meets all the living needs of a short stay of half a month. The room can sleep up to five people, which is especially friendly to families with two children or elderly people. In addition, you can walk to Nijo Castle. There is an old pedestrian street nearby that is completely a living place for Japanese locals. Unlike the lively and expensive Nishiki Market and Shinkyogoku, Sanjokai Pedestrian Street has many traditional old shops for drinking coffee and eating eel rice, which is very cost-effective.

The pictures on the website are real. A family of five can live in one room. There are clothes dryers and washing machines, as well as kitchen pots and pans. It is very convenient and the space is not small. It is enough.

The location of the hotel is very good, not far from Nijo Castle, Imperial Garden and other attractions. We are a family with two children, four people, and it is very suitable to choose this hotel, because there are beds and tatami, and it is not crowded to sleep! The children like it very much, jumping around. Turn right when you go out of the hotel, walk to the first alley, and walk in. It is very good to visit. There are many delicious restaurants 🍴 Turn left when you go out of the hotel, Dayijia Ramen 🍜 is also good. Lawson is diagonally opposite the hotel, which is very convenient. Let's talk about his service attitude. The attitude of the employees is very good! If you take a taxi, you must say Nijo Castle Store, otherwise this chain hotel has several branches in Kyoto, and the driver may take you to other branches. We took us to the wrong place at that time.

The hotel staff are very nice and willing to help solve problems. The room was big and clean. 

The bedroom was separated, which was great. I was able to rest more comfortably than I expected. It was also very clean, and I would definitely recommend it.
