Good, convenient location: - within 5-8 mins walk to ErJi subway station (Line1), which is just 6 stops from Kunming Railway Station. - hotel occupies the top few floors of an office tower building which is part of the Dadu Motian office-cum-shopping mall. Ie. I could leave my room, head downstairs, walk into the mall, take the elevator up to the cinema on the 6th floor of the mall, and be seated and watching a movie in the cinema within 5 mins (provided you don't get lost inside the mall searching for the cinema, as happened to me during my first few times roaming inside the mall). - a 24hr food street, popular with the locals, is a short 3 mins walk from the mall. - The HUGE GR Shopping Mall complex is also within 15 walks distance. Room was advertised as "without air-conditioning"... yet I booked it, as I was curious and wanted to experience the effect of Kunming's reputed "Perpetual Spring" climate in a room without aircon. Room is spacious and has everything expected, except: I can't get any live CCTV news. .. apparently only prerecorded cable news from CCTV2, 3, 5, 6 & 7. Totally NO CCTV1 news, even pre-recorded ones! The elevator reach upto level 15, and my room is located on level 16 (where morning breakfast is served), so I need to climb up/down one level via the staircase. The included breakfast is very typical, local Chinese noodle plus various condiments ... and is only available between 7-9 am. As my departure flight is late at night, I was able to do late checkout for a few hours at ¥20 per hour. 👍🙂

Hotel room is big and clean and highly value for money. Breakfast is Chinese style but good enough, especially the Chinese noodle soup. Staff is polite, especially housekeeping staff and front desk. Highly recommended for business travellers. Walking distance to metro subway station.
