Kunming Weilan Coffet House Reviews

We had a great one-night stay. The room was clean and spacious, located in a quiet gated community. We arrived around noon and were warmly welcomed by the owner. At the gate, we showed our booking details to security, then walked a short distance to the unit with our luggage. We enjoyed a delicious lunch prepared by the in-house chef, and the owner also made us excellent, good quality coffee. The house is very close to Dianchi Lake, just a few steps from the gate. We were able to walk around the lake and even took a cableway across to the Western Hills (Must do). The lake area was also lovely for a nighttime walk. Overall, our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. We wish we had stayed longer. The owner and staff were very friendly and made our stay even more pleasant.😊

We are Americans from Hong Kong and traveled to Kunming for our Easter holiday. The positives of this hotel: 1. it was beautiful. The design and furnishings were very well done and the room itself was exceptionally clean. 2. The owners were so kind. We arrived way after the tea time hour, but they still provided our family with cappuccinos and fresh fruit, free of charge. Both were delicious and our children were so excited about the gourmet coffee art. 3. The mattress in the main bed area was very comfortable. Not a typical “hard” mattress like many hotels in China. Another bonus: it was actually a KING size, which we rarely see outside the US! 4. The breakfast was Chinese style and the rice noodles were delicious! The hotel also had a beautiful courtyard area to eat outside. A few items to be aware of: 1. although the hotel was in a neighborhood near the lake, the neighborhood itself was a bit strange. We could tell it was meant to be a beautiful, well-to-do neighborhood of modern villas, but more than half the neighborhood was unused and/or under construction so it wasn’t as lively feeling in the evening because it was so dark and desolate seeming. It was beautiful in the daylight though! 2. This is not a big hotel chain, just an independent boutique style hotel operating in one of these villas. 3. There are no optimal eating spots near the hotel. You have to take a 20-30 minute Didi (taxi) ride to the nearest area with a lot of restaurants. However, if you like street food, there is a street food carnival area about 10 minutes away via walking (walk north along boardwalk bordering the lake.) Overall, because of the kindness of the owners, the cleanliness and modernity, delicious breakfast, and comfortable mattress, we would definitely choose this hotel again for a one-night stopover.

Very convenient location, just near Dianchi. Situated among some landed houses. Also got complimentary afternoon tea set. Pretty nice coffee.

The room is small but well-equipped, no noise, intelligent lighting control, Dianchi Lake is right outside the door, and it is very close to the cableway, making it very convenient for sightseeing!

This hotel feels great, with a good location, 2 minutes walk from Dianchi Lake, and surrounded by scenic spots, including Xishan, Haigeng Park, and the National Village. The room is great, the big bed is very comfortable, the constant temperature shower, and the hair dryer are very useful. The service is especially good. We arrived very late, and the hotel has private dishes. We contacted them in advance, and the chef waited until we arrived to finish the meal before leaving get off work. The food is delicious, their set meal is affordable, and the hotel waiter is also very warm. They prepared baby chairs and baby tableware in advance, and sent afternoon tea the next day. In short, it was a very satisfactory stay, worth recommending

This homestay is only a few dozen meters away from Dianchi Lake. There are ethnic villages, Haigeng Park, Haihong Wetland, etc. around it. It is very convenient to visit. I saw red-headed gulls in Haihong Wetland. The homestay is comfortable and clean, and the service is very good. You can make tea and drink coffee in the public area. There are also private dishes here. The two of us ordered a 98 yuan set meal, which was good. We stayed in two rooms for two nights. The whole house is voice-controlled intelligently, which is very convenient. It is quiet to sleep at night. The community environment is also very good. It is a high-end villa area

Very close to Haigeng Dam, you need to get up early to catch the last batch of seagulls, preferably around 7 or 8 o'clock. The seagulls are basically fed around 9 o'clock and will disappear after flying for a while. Breakfast includes rice noodles cooked by an auntie, which are hot and very good. The staff are friendly and kind, and it would be better if the hygiene is improved.

The hotel environment is really nice and quiet. There is a back garden, a book bar and coffee. The service is warm and thoughtful. They also helped to upgrade the room to have a balcony and gave two breakfasts. It is cost-effective and worth recommending!

The room is OK, with plenty of sunlight. It is located in the villa area and is a homestay decorated by the owner himself. The environment and sanitation are good, but the surrounding villas are dry and primitive. It is very convenient to watch seagulls at Shanghai Dam. It is pet-friendly and the owner is enthusiastic. Friends who drive themselves should pay attention to the frequent traffic jams and traffic control on the viewing road at the door.

It might be a little hard to find the first time you go there, but you will get it once you go there. The location is great, suitable for people like me who like to relax. Across the residential area is Dianchi Lake. It happened to be the seagull season. Love it 😍. It was a little funny this time. It happened to be the Kunming Marathon, just outside our accommodation.
