I had a good stay at Ming Garden. The hotel was very clean, and the location is perfect for anyone needing to be near shopping mall. The staff provided excellent service, always friendly and helpful. The amenities were decent, though there’s a little room for improvement. Overall, it's a convenient and clean place to stay, especially if you love shopping!!

An excellent stay in Kota Kinabalu. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here, largely in part because of the hotel. From the easy and friendly welcome at the reception, club lounge and restaurant to help from the travel desk, we received good service all around. The club lounge food while not varied, was good. I also loved the views from the rooftop bar. The pool looked to be a little dated but was still acceptable. The gym was well equipped! Unfortunately, I did not make a booking in time to try their massage services. Finally, the room was lovely. Comfy bed and pillows. The hotel is only 15 stories and we were on the 8th floor, while it's not very high the sea view was still gorgeous. Additional kudos, I appreciated that the laundry team could accommodate for washing of shoes as I had just completed the Mount Kinabalu hike. We made a spontaneous booking to Mari Mari Cultural Village and the travel desk service was really helpful in arranging our booking for the next day. All in all, a fantastic stay and I look forward to staying here again.

A very location centric business type hotel, very close to attractions like the Gaya Market, harbour front and shopping malls. Very easy access to food, either the shophouse and street type or the mall type restaurants. The overall cleanliness is good but the rooms are dated and seem to have a musty smell. The pillow feels flatten, likely needed a replacement. Service is good and staff are friendly. Nice place if not for that musty smell in the room.

Well maintained resort and good service. Breakfast spread is good and yummy. Harbour is just 5-10 mins walk away to take boat ride to the Tunku Abdul Rahman islands. Boat ride is only about 15-20mins to the islands. Lovely great swimming pools for both adults and kids and a small private beach for snorkeling. Rooms are clean and spacious. Sunset is beautiful. Love the stay and we will be back. Thank you!

Whether it's the reception or room service, they respond quickly to guests' needs and always with a smile. Secondly, the quality of the in-room dining is excellent. Whether it's breakfast or dinner, the food delivered to the room is not only fresh and delicious but also beautifully presented, making you feel genuinely welcome. It's particularly worth mentioning that I once accidentally left some items in the room. The hotel staff promptly contacted me and arranged to return the items quickly, which was very reassuring. However, there are a few areas where the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort could improve. Firstly, the hotel's location is relatively remote, making it inconvenient to hail a taxi, especially at night or during peak hours, which can be troublesome for guests who need to go out frequently. Additionally, there are some issues with the hotel's pool facilities. The edges of the pool may be rough, and I accidentally got a cut while using the pool. I hope the hotel can address this to enhance the safety and comfort of their guests. Overall, the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort remains a highly recommended accommodation choice, particularly for travelers seeking excellent service and delicious meals. If they can resolve the transportation and pool facility issues, this would be an ideal place for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

My recent stay at The Pacific Sutera Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. Despite only spending 2 days and 1 night at the hotel, the level of service I experienced was truly top-notch. From the moment we stepped into the lobby until our departure, every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. The hotel's attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the cleanliness of the facilities to the overall ambiance, which contributed to a memorable and enjoyable experience. However, what truly set this stay apart was the outstanding service provided by the hotel staff. I must make a special mention of one staff member whose name unfortunately escapes me. She mentioned that she has been a part of the hotel's team for the past 20 years, and her dedication to her work was palpable in every interaction we had with her. Her genuine friendliness, warmth, and professionalism enhanced our stay and left a lasting impression. I believe it would be wonderful if the hotel could consider acknowledging her dedication and exceptional service with a bonus or some form of recognition. Her commitment to ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of guests like myself deserves commendation, and such gestures would not only serve as a token of appreciation but also motivate her and other staff members to continue delivering outstanding service. The residence is located in the middle of the city..u can get food and shopping very near you. The room is clean full of amenities including mini fridge. Even provide powerbank for customer use. Very recomened...the sevices just through whatsap...and 24 hours available..

After a long trip arrived at hotel and quickly signed in. We were upgraded to a fantastic room, however phone and TV not working but a great balcony view of the South. China Sea and to the left the jungle. It was lovely to sit and watch the various birds and fireflies. Malaysia Airlines had lost one of our bags and did not seem concerned however after no success we spoke with James at reception who soon sorted it out and it arrived at 9pm. One day wasted Thanks Malaysia Airlines. The next day we had a leisurely breakfast plentiful and good choices of Malay and Western. Very courteous staff. Saw our first monitor lizard and had a garden tour by. a very informative employee Roy. Decided against the nature walk as advised not much to see this time of year. Spent most the day on the empty beach ( Some jellyfish but otherwise a nice dip) and in empty swimming pool. 3 linked pools lovely and warm but needs some maintenance and jacuzzi not working. Only a couple of restaurants were open and although quality of food was good the menus were similar. On our last day we had a very good Chinese style meal in The Noble House (Only open until early evening). As with most meals we were the only ones in the restaurant. All meals were very reasonably priced. The advertised firefly. tour was cancelled due to low tide but Christina arranged a private trip to see them and also the proboscis monkey. Well worth it. . Points to Note Low occupancy with the majority of guests staying overnight only, meant we had pools and beach to ourselves and the restaurants were virtually empty. Disadvantage was that some restaurants. and snack places did not open. Lovely remote location fantastic view , beach and garden walks however nothing in walking distance of the resort so unless taking a. taxi or day trip would not see or meet other local people restaurants or shops. Note the hotel shop has very limited souvenirs and only a few crisps and drinks. We had a great relaxing time, the hotel needs some updating and maintenance but that did not affect our.enjoyment. Staff were helpful and courteous and room clean and well stocked with water tea and coffee. A/C fine. So if you want a relaxing beach and pool holiday with good food and when we were there tranquility we recommend Nexus. PS book trips at the hotel as the one we booked through our agent was about 3 times more.

Location: Good location, a lot of restaurants nearby. Walking distance to Saturday night market (3 min) & Sunday Gaya Street Market (1 min). Suria shopping mall 3 min walk. Room: Spacious room, clean bathroom. Con: No free parking, not easy to look for parking.

I've read lots of reviews about this resort before booking a stay. All i can say is I'm very satisfied with the service. The room is clean & bathroom too. They provide everything, soap, shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush, towels..only a floor towel is missing. But when i requested for it, it was quickly delivered to our room. We parked our car at the side of the roads, just like everyone did, but we couldn't find a big rock to choke the back wheel (cos we see everyone did it cos the road is steep). So, we tried to ask one of the staff at the restaurant to help us to find a rock for our car, even though we're not confident that our request will be heard cos all the staffs were very busy at that time. But to our suprise, when we checked our car not too long after, they already put the rocks there. The food at the restaurant was delicious & i think the prices are reasonable. At night, we really enjoyed the view from our room. You can see the whole city & the night lights view is amazing. We don't mind the bugs cos yea we expected them as the resort is near to nature. In fact our kids enjoyed looking at the nite creatures especially the fireflies. Surprisingly, there's no mosquito at all. The breakfast was simple, there were fried noodles, fried rice, fried eggs, sausage, baked beans, bread & toaster provided, coffee & tea. The fried noodle was tasty. When we arrived for breakfast, some of the food were finished but was quickly replenished. So, all i wanna say is please give this place a try. Some of the reviews are not agreeable for me. The staffs are really trying their best. If you need anything, please just ask from them & don't just simply give bad review when u didn't get what you didn't ask.
