I stayed one week there and appreciated every day.
- Lonely island feeling far from the world.
It's a must to stay to avoid the crowd of 11am/2pm and have a chunk of paradise for yourself outside those hours. Particularly to avoid the queue to climb the hill.
- Amazing sunset and view from the top of the hill every day.
- The staff was so caring and nice. Particularly mister Tei and miss Been while I became sick the last day.
- Diving center right on your doorstep.
- free shuttle boat to Koh Tao every day if you miss the civilization
- every bungalow have good orientation for the view.
- internet was ok.
- The shower pressure might bother some but it's not a problem under this weather.
It would be better to start to pay attention of the effect of the crowd on the nature to preserve it though. The people coming for 2/3h are so careless(i saw shoes, straw, bottles...even socks! Forgotten)
Maybe best to raise the price of the room and only allow resort resident to enter, to control the flow of people on the island without losing revenue.

Beautiful majestic location, sadly being made the most of to make money. Everything is double charged as opposed to the nearby islands. The first impressions were very bad, as there was no communication as to what time the "complimentary" ferry left Koh Tao for Nangyuan. We were dumped in a boat with our luggage with no one to tell us when we are leaving. After my asking we are told in broken English that the boat doesn't leave for another hour and a half! We get to Nangyuan, there is no direct apology really, but breakfast added in without a word said. The breakfast was nice but dinner completely bland and overpriced. Snorkels, chair and parasol free of charge but again no communication. We sort of had to figure it out ourselves. Thankfully the peacefulness of the island means after such lack of communications, and facing staff with stern attitude, all is okay in the end. I would not spend three days there again unfortunately due to the staff's attitude and behaviour. 1 or max 2 days will suffice, as you can visit the island from elsewhere anyway.

It was an amazing, unique experience! I sailed to the island when there were no tourists, it closes at 15. And there was a feeling of exclusivity. You can be alone at the viewpoint, watch the sunset. During the day there is a queue of tourists and a completely different atmosphere. And in the morning, before the island opens at 10, you feel like the beach is all yours. The hotel is on a tiny island of incredible beauty. There you find a state of peace and bliss. Silence. The room was quite high, so there was a view of the spit. Everything in the room is super, there is even a beach bag. Good breakfast, polite staff, you can take a snorkeling mask from the hotel for free. I am delighted!

Beautiful island and the hotel consists of cute little bungalows. Well furnished with everything you need. We were there in April/May and had the island to ourselves in the evenings.
The island is only open to tourists between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
And when we were there there were hardly any visitors in the bungalows.
An island and a beautiful little bungalow all to yourself was a great thing.
P.S.: Getting up at 6 a.m. and going snorkeling was also well worth it. We saw lots of small and also larger sharks.

The hotel service is very good. You must try the roast chicken in the restaurant. The facilities are average. The most satisfying thing is that the hotel will arrange a free shuttle boat to Koh Tao.
In addition to swimming and snorkeling, you can also go up to the top of the mountain to enjoy the beautiful scenery of this beautiful place.

Many years ago, I couldn't forget Nanyuan, and I finally had the opportunity to come again. I was a little hesitant when I read the comments before, and the XC information said there would be a power outage, but luckily I didn’t give up. If the environment can be rated as six stars, I will rate it six stars. The South Park is so beautiful, especially when there is no one in the early morning and evening, you can swim quietly with the beautiful fishes. Of course, the rooms are not comparable to high-star hotels, but the facilities are all available.
The room is still powered all day long, and the air conditioner can always be turned on.
The food and beverages at the resort are a bit more expensive in Thailand, but it is acceptable. In contrast, drinks and water are a bit more expensive.
The attitude of the service staff is also good.
What needs to be mentioned is that the rooms are one by one wooden houses located on the mountain. The cheaper the room, the more mountains to climb, but the staff will help you carry the boxes.

A stunningly beautiful island - just like in the photos - so definitely worth a trip. The hotel, however, is poor - the rooms aren’t clean; furniture is stained and worn; the air-conditioning works only intermittently, so the rooms are unbearably hot overnight; the restaurants are limited, particularly if staying for more than 2 nights; the wifi isn’t great. On the positive side, the staff are lovely - very friendly and helpful. Day visitors (lots of them) are allowed on the island from 10-3. It’s wonderfully peaceful to experience the island and snorkelling/diving outside of those hours - but you’re then committed to an overnight stay, so that’s the compromise.

This island is beautiful but the “hotel” does not come remotely close to being nice or in line with the beauty of the island. Air con in the accommodation wasn’t working which made trying to sleep impossible for 2 nights. There were not enough snorkels for us on the day we arrived so we couldn’t snorkel after all of the day visitors left and then we only managed to get a final set for our party mid afternoon on the next day. The restaurant is not brilliant - on both nights we had our meals all served at different times, one 25 minutes after the others in our party had finished!!! The island is lovely but the stay was not - very disappointing indeed.

Repairs start at 7am behind my room, hammers, saws, etc. restaurant food is limited, expensive and low quality. they only give you 4 bottles of water per day and you need to buy more for 40 baht each. the cafe sells water in glass bottles with straws, so you see a lot of straws and broken glass in the ocean. drones are not allowed. reception could not even give my girlfriend a beach towel and told her to walk back to the room at the opposite side of the island. Snorkeling is not good, all of the coral has been destroyed and just washing up on the shore. It’s really sad to see so much destruction

Staff so accommodating, very friendly, helped with onward travel and recommended staying on island to get high speed catamaran. The beach villa was amazing, views stunning and we checked in early. Food in restaurant at night was very good and a lovely atmosphere. The snorkelling some of the best I’ve seen and so good to be able to snorkel from beach. Island so peaceful when tourists went home

Very datet resort, very crowded Island between 10-15. Before an after that time there are a lot of divers in de waters around de Island. So not only for the guests of the resort as they promist. We got a big extra charge for making a extra bed for our Son and at the end of our stay a big bill for foods and beverages. Partly nog our bills, of with extra never ordert food. Breakfast was included at our booking, but was also charged. This was a very expensive trip, it was definately not worth it.

We visited Nang Yuang in 1994, and we remember that it was really a paradise. The 6.2.2022 we came back. When You arrive they tell You that You can not bring plastic bottles or food with You. No fins and beach shoes are allowed, and no towels on the sand. They want to protect the coral! I said that I would go for free diving and snorkling to the Japanese gardens, where the water is at least 6m deep. No way! Once You are on the island, You will see diver rookies with the whole equipment on the beach. You will find sunbeds for rent (no towels on the beach...). The main part of the island is covered with constructions like restaurant, storehouse etc. (no plastic bottles, no food …). ATTENTION on the beach: It seems that there is nobody, who takes care of the beach: This means that You can find in the sand everything that the sea delivers: plastic bottles, every kind of floaters, LIGHT BULBS etc. I spend 20 minutes in collecting rubbish from the beach, and brought it to the lady, where I paid 200 baht entrance fee asking her if that is what I paid for. She told me that the island is rented out to a private company for 30 years. I recommend to watch the pictures with attention!!!

beautiful place, very rude and unfriendly staff, we arrived on the island at 8-30 in the morning, we got there without any problems, but after 100 meters a woman attacked us with a scream, trying to kick us out, because the island opens at 10-00, the boat on which we sailed already left and we could not return, the woman started hysterical and completely lost her face, we calmly tried to explain to her that we physically cannot leave the island, then she began to call someone and tell something extremely emotionally, for our luck her interlocutor was much more adept and allowed us to go for 200 baht per person. Later we watched as the rest of the tourists who arrived before 10 were forced to stand on the pier in the sun, while the staff sat in the shade, doing nothing and laughing at people in the sun. If you decide to visit this place, be prepared for something that you are not welcome here
