Crowne Plaza Kitchener-Waterloo Reviews

The room was clean but quite outdated, with a musty odor, reminiscent of damp towels. The bed and pillows were comfortable, which was a plus. However, there were no toothbrushes, toothpaste, or slippers provided. The coffee machine in the room had water pooled in the tray, likely from the previous guest's usage and it appeared never have been cleaned. Additionally , there was no hot water kettle or bottled water provided in the room which was disappointing.  The lobby, corridors, and other public areas had a strong smell of bleach, which was overwhelming. The buffet breakfast was a highlight. For CAD$20, it offered a wide selection, and the quality was excellent, making it a great value. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. Restaurant staff, especially Erica, was fantastic—attentive, polite, and thoughtful. She checked in with every guest to ensure they were satisfied with their meal. Unfortunately, some of the male staff seemed to be less eager to serve non-Caucasian guests, which was disappointing and made the experience feel less welcoming. I also want to give a special mention to Chitra at reception. I arrived early, and she went out of her way to accommodate me, even managing to arrange an early check-in. She also informed me about the late check-out benefit available to IHG members, which the other male receptionist had not explained when he simply rejected my request. Overall, the hotel is somewhat pricey, but the breakfast and service (especially from Erica and Chitra) made up for some of the other shortcomings.

So, the leading positive is the buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant -Aqua. Decent selection and good quality. Fresh omelet station. It is generally an add-on or a slightly higher room cost when included. The front desk service was friendly. Parking is expensive at $12 per day down a back alley and under a low concrete parkade roof - max height of just over 6 feet. Limited parking available. Service for cleaning making up the room is the decided downfall here. We placed the Grey- please make up the room card on the door each morning before departing. First day, nothing by 5:00pm. First room attendant in the hall - not my assigned room, second attendant - not my room, third attendant - not my room. Pattern? Finally, someone bothered to take ownership and brief a supervisor? to request someone. I'm not sure about the purpose of the signs since clearly they are meaningless. Two days later, a Saturday...same thing. 4:30 pm and still no service. I mean, we are content with towels and coffee pods, but you need to find someone first to even achieve that... A couple of the last days, the room attendant was very good and friendly. Last day, 28c out, and a/c stopped working. Not optimal. Only one of the two front elevators is in service, and that one was not functioning on one day. Overall, it was a very average experience. It was a bit of a let-down for a Crowne Plaza, particularly when the hotel was never particularly busy during our 7 night stay.

Beds were comfortable and the standard room was fine but there are other hotels that have nicer accommodations at a lower price. The parking is in a dingy covered parking lot and $12 a day. The balcony was so small.it is almost unusable and when standing outside there was garbage that should be cleaned up. I was expecting nicer accommodations as I thought this was a higher class hotel. The overall stay was fine but was expecting more.

The hotel offers a generally pleasant stay, but there were a few issues during my visit. The building was very cold on all floors, likely due to a malfunctioning central heater. I also noticed visible signs of wear and tear, particularly water hardness corrosion on the showerhead. Although I requested some utensils for personal use, they were never provided. Additionally, there was no complimentary water or toiletries (toothbrush/paste) available. On a positive note, the food at the restaurant was exceptional—delicious and full of flavor!

As good as always, clean and tidy, the front desk is very polite, the breakfast is very good, the service aunt is very nice, I stayed there for 2 days and felt very comfortable

The hotel is in a good location, 🈶bus, tram, supermarkets and dollar stores nearby, many small commodities are worth recommending. The air conditioner in the room is too noisy, it is installed indoors. The soundproofing of the room is not very good. There is a strange smell in the corridor.

The hotel looks like what it should be. The hygiene is OK, at least the sheets look new. The bathroom is small, and the washbasin is very compact, so you can't put anything. The room has a balcony door, but there is no balcony. The door can't be opened, which is understandable for safety. Kitchener is a very small town. King St. is the main street. This hotel is at an 11th intersection at the south end of this main street, next to a tram station. As for food, this town may have better pizza and hamburgers. Anyway, I ate at a Vietnamese rice noodle restaurant with a rating of 4.3. I regret it. I guess there are few choices so the rating is high.

There is a trolleybus stop at the entrance of the hotel, the traffic is very convenient, the room is small, and the front desk is very friendly. The hotel is connected to the parking building. Although there is a fee, it is still very convenient. The restaurant on the first floor of the hotel has enough portions, the price is not expensive, and the taste is relatively average

The room provided by the hotel is very large with twin beds. There are actually two double beds. It is very comfortable, the sheets are clean, and the price is cheap. I recommend friends who go to the airport to stay. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel.

The area between the parking building and the hotel was leaky, and it was raining very badly. The problem was that I couldn't check in, I didn't have a room card, and I couldn't enter the side door. It was a terrible thing. Parking fee, small room
