To preface this review Id like to highlight this is my first and only review I’ve ever posted and I feel compelled to make it on how utterly disappointed I was with my recent stay at the Kelowna Microtel location. After a long day of travelling we check in to our room and are immediately greeted by trash and soiled towels on the floor. I decided to speak with the front desk staff who was unable to help us further than cleaning the room himself due to hotel being sold out. The front counter clerk offered the collect the “gifts” left for us however I declined seeing how busy he was with checking in other guests. Back in the room I noted the walls were filthy black with dirty hand prints, the furniture was torn and deeply stained. The night stand was also disgusting with heavy staining which had not cleaned for sometime. Peeling the bedding back I was greeted by more stains and copious amounts of hair! The washroom was not any better with urine stains and hair of the shirt and curly variety on the toilet. Not wanting to have my family stay in this disappointing and disgusting room we made multiple calls to other hotels and unfortunately everything was sold out. Faced with no other option I purchased cleaning supplies and bedding to make the room at a basic and acceptable level. To add insult to injury after making the room acceptable I went to watch TV and was unable to make the TV turn on and deduced the remote needed replacement. I have documented everything with photographs. I sincerely recommend avoiding this hotel unless you have no other options such as myself. I recommend packing a tent instead of staying here.
