"Apart from the room being a bit on the small side, everything else was excellent. This is a hot spring hotel where guests wear provided robes/yukata and remove their shoes. It's very baby-friendly: they offered a set of baby clothes and toiletries, and high chairs were available in the dining area. Dinner consisted of soy sauce noodles and drinks. Breakfast was generous, featuring a variety of Nara specialties served in many small dishes. The hot springs are located on the first floor, with separate facilities for men and women. Indoors, there are warm and cold pools, and outdoors, there's an open-air bath, along with a sauna. Showers are available after your soak. It's advised that infants and young children avoid the very hot or very cold springs; a simple shower is sufficient for them. Outside the onsen, you can enjoy popsicles and read manga, which kids will particularly enjoy."

For dining and essentials, the surrounding area was incredibly convenient, with plenty of eateries nearby and several convenience stores and a supermarket directly across the street. "The traditional Japanese room exceeded my expectations. Compared with hotels in downtown Kyoto, it is cost-effective, close to attractions, and has a good environment. The hotel's hot spring water is great and good for health. Compared with public open-air, indoor, and private reserved baths, I prefer the open-air bath, which is more comfortable and not easy to suffocate. The private reservation is a bit tight with 40 minutes, and the water feels a bit unclean when I go there at night. I don't know if the water can be changed every time. All the products provided are Pola, and some locals go there. I will sweat after a while after taking a bath. The free herbal tea provided on the first floor is also very comfortable. I will go there next time. The five-story pagoda is under repair, which affects the view a bit."

"Very good hotel, reasonable price, and the best location because it's connected to JR Nara station. After leaving from JR Nara station gate, you can directly walk to 2nd floor of this hotel, it's the best location. This hotel has very good arrangements, good facilities. This hotel provides pajamas, comb, cotton bud, toothbrush for picking up at front of lift. This hotel is very clean.. All facilities in the room has everything, i really enjoy staying in this hotel."

"Good service and Nice breakfast，I appreciate the front desk staff Mone, the staff (male), and the restaurant staff! They are very helpful. First, We missed the shuttle bus at first day about 3:01pm, he saw the bus just had gone and he ran to catch and stopped it. Then we got up late at the second day, the last order should be 9:30pm.but we forgot the time, they still let us to take the breakfast. Last , Mone always keep her smiling face to help booking the taxi and packing our gift, and also introducing the surrounding scenic spot. Thank you so much!"

"The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, including the bedding. While the room was well-equipped, some facilities felt a bit dated. However, both the interior and exterior of the building exuded an aristocratic grandeur. The front desk staff were incredibly polite, professional, and went above and beyond to help guests with any issues. The hot spring had specific operating hours, and unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to experience it, which was a slight disappointment."

It’s 5 mins walk to the nara shopping area, 5mins walk to the nara park there is deer walking around the hotel in the morning
There is free morning city walk tour at 7:00-8:00 with local guide; the bicycle is free
The view of the pond is nice the service is great!! 5stars to everything
The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable
They have drink lounge for free use with unlimited snacks; fruit juice, sake, beer, wine from

Really recommend everyone that travels to nara city to stay at this hotel!!
The only downside of this hotel is the breakfast only provides japanese style food ; grill fish and onigiri
The onigiri is huge, grill fish and miso soup is cold
I wish they can make the onigiri smaller so
We can taste more flavors
And hope that they can provide a bakery corner for people who doesn’t like to eat fish
Otherwise we loved the hotel and want to go
Back again!!
Ps: there is not parking space so we need to park at the coin parking costs us 2400¥ /night

GGuest UserTransportation: 8-9 minutes away from the bus station, a little far, especially at night, the road is very dark.
Service: Very enthusiastic, there is a Chinese-speaking front desk receptionist, and the young sister is very considerate. Another sister from Northeast China is also enthusiastic but a little less professional, and what she said can't be justified. For example, I changed from a cheap but convenient hotel to live here because I saw the view outside the window of the website picture, but the allocation was the back without a view. I asked how to book the view side, she said it had to be six months in advance, but the booking website did not distinguish between the back and the view side, so there was no choice. I don’t know who can get the view side. If I knew there was no view, why would I book here?
Facilities: Because it is a county guesthouse in the 70s, even after renovation, many facilities are inconvenient, such as why there is no sink in the bathroom, but it is placed on the balcony? ! For example, the shower design is problematic, and the refrigerator is not refrigerated in the end, and the ice cream I bought is completely melted. The tatami mattress itself is OK, but it is too hard to stand up. I am not used to this, so it is better to live in a bed.
Environment: It is near Nara Park, close to Kofuku-ji Temple (under renovation) and a pond (this pond is very common in China, but it is also a sight here).
I stayed here because I heard someone recommend it, but I was not as satisfied as I imagined. It may be more suitable for older people or families. Young people traveling alone can still have more convenient and affordable hotel options.

MMichael IanThis place was so cute and excellent. Staff didn't speak much English, but we were able to communicate easily enough. Room was Japanese Ryokan style. Tatami mats, low table. It had everything needed, shower and toilet in the room too. There is also an onsen that you can reserve for your private use. I asked for a time later at night and they still had one spot available. If you can't get a time then it is ”public use” after 22:00, which seems to mean that you might need to share if others want to join. Location was very good, right in the middle of the historic part of town and a short walk (＜5 min) to Nara park to see the deer. Hotel was very nice and clean. I was here in late December and the air conditioning heater in the room was very good too.

GGuest UserThe hotel where the emperor stayed, the royal comfort, every day to visit Nara Park Todaiji, very convenient, beautiful surrounding scenery. I stayed here a few years ago, this time I stayed here again, although the price is a bit more expensive, but the accommodation experience is very good. The hotel specifications are very high. There are shuttle buses to Nara JR and Kintetsu. The driver uncle is very dedicated. I have two 30-inch and 28-inch heavy suitcases, he enthusiastically helped us get the whole thing on and off the car, without the help of other young employees, I admire it. There is a Chinese and English Buddhist classics in the room, and the TV has a Chinese channel to watch anti-Japanese war movies.

It's located on Nara's main street, perfectly situated between Kintetsu Nara Station and JR Nara Station, offering easy access to all the major sights. There are numerous dining options nearby, and I'd advise against eating at the hotel as the prices are quite high. It's excellent for an overnight stay and provides great value for money. Although the rooms are small, they're well-equipped, and you can even take a bath to relax and wash away the day's tiredness. The view is alright. If you're after luxury, there are plenty of 4- and 5-star hotels in the area.

Wwee teeBooked this hotel through Trip which was a godsend. The hotel that I booked through ******* was screwed up big time by ******* because the hotel didn't receive the reservation apparently. ******* was not helpful with the relocation (even thought there were availability at other hotels), claiming the hotel class are different from the one I booked. Anyways this hotel is convenient and clean, only thing that I disliked was the site mentioned double bed BUT only can accommodate 1 person!? Ended we have to pay additional ¥3k for the 3rd person (my youngest daughter) for 2 rooms. 1 room for myself and the other for both daughters because the manager was adamant about the 1 room per person, however after paying the additional ¥3k he was ok with 2 persons in a room. Didn't make sense unless I was explained it is some government regulations to allow only 1 double bed room for 1 person

GGuest UserThis hotel is exactly something what we expected to experience with a Japanese style room and hot spring. We chose Japanese style room which was spacious enough for 3 guests. Hotel fee already included Japanese dinner served inside room and breakfast (Japanese or American) served in their restaurant. Hot spring is available from 4pm-11pm, however, no morning session is available which a bit disappointed us. Hot spring area is not big, it is more enjoyable when there are only 2-3 guest in the pool.
Hotel location is good, only about 6 mins walk from Kintetsu Nara station. The only bad thing was NO elevator or escalator from the station up to ground floor exit. All other main tourist attractions are within walkable distance.

GGuest UserHotel Nikko truly lives up to its reputation as a renowned Japanese hotel chain. Hotel Nikko Nara is ideally located right at the exit of JR Nara Station. With bus terminals (both north and south plazas) conveniently situated just outside, it offers exceptional ease of access to Nara Park and other major attractions. The hotel's service attitude was also outstanding. Immediately upon check-in, a kind staff member from the hotel lounge noticed we had a child with us and thoughtfully prepared two different flavored juices and cookies for us to take to our room. It was such a considerate gesture to help tide us over! After returning to the hotel from our outing, we were pleasantly surprised to find our clothes and toys neatly organized and even arranged adorably. They truly went the extra mile!

WWensenWe really appreciated the stay at the old traditionnal timber house, everything is kept in its style. The lifestyle also is part of the house : everyone is playing the game, being very silent and respectful, sharing a very nice traditionnal kitchen. The house may miss one more shower but it still works. I totally recommand the experience !!

GGuest UserFirst of all, the service staff is warm and thoughtful, and the attitude is amiable! Tell the precautions, the hotel is clean and hygienic, and the quilt is covered by yourself. The bathroom in the bath is particularly clean. Every guest is very conscious. Try to control yourself and not disturb others. It is really great!
