"Stayed at Hotel Oriental Fukuoka Tenjin and it was such a great choice! The location is super convenient—just a 2-minute walk to the subway entrance, making it easy to get around the city. There are also plenty of dining options nearby, with Yoshinoya, Matsuya, and even Shin Shin just around the corner. Service was consistently good, and the room was very comfortable. I especially loved the pillows and bed—perfect for resting after a long day of exploring. A nice touch was that they provided nightwear, which I didn’t bring, so that was really convenient. Breakfast had a great spread with lots of options to choose from, making mornings something to look forward to. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free stay in a prime location!"

"Hotel is about 5 mins walking distance from Watanabe-Dori Station. The room was spacious. A couple of convenient stores can be found in vicinity of the hotel. Not too far from the busy Tenjin shopping district. It is also close to Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station, for those intended to travel to Dazaifu or Yanagawa. Breakfast, laundry, vending machine, ice machine available."

"The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from JR, not far from the commercial district, and there's a FamilyMart right downstairs. The front desk staff were very nice, but before checking in, you have to fill out a form by hand, and after checking in, you have to go to a machine nearby to pay the accommodation tax, which makes the process a bit cumbersome. Breakfast for guests is 700 yen, which is quite a good deal, but it only consists of bread and curry rice. Also, check-out time is 10 AM."

"Facilities: The hotel is quite new, built in '21. I stayed on the fifth floor, and they have an ice machine and a water dispenser, so it's fine even if the room doesn't come with complimentary water. This is also the only hotel where you can request an extra bed and the rooms are 40 square meters. They even store luggage until my next stay. I checked with all the five-star hotels around, and they either had small rooms, expensive rooms, couldn't add a bed, or couldn't store luggage for an extended period. This truly is a major highlight! Cleanliness: I have to complain about the cleanliness. In room 507, the bathroom sink didn't have a cover, and there were a lot of small flying insects inside. I sprayed mosquito repellent here, and I only realized the extent of the problem when many of them died at the drain opening. My son even got bites on his chest! Environment: It's super convenient, only about 150 meters from Hakata Chikushi-guchi. Yodobashi Camera is right across the street, so you can shop 'til you drop – it's fantastic! There are also many convenience stores nearby. Service: The breakfast selection isn't huge, but it's fine for one day. I highly recommend the breakfast coffee; it's very rich."

"I came to Fukuoka and was deciding between the Grand Hyatt and IL Palazzo, considering my budget. After reading online reviews, I decisively chose this place, and it turns out I made the right choice. The location is super convenient; Canal City Hakata is just a 10-15 minute walk away, and there are many dining options nearby. The hotel's decor is very unique, with a bold use of bright colors. After staying in many business-style hotels, it was refreshing to experience something so different. The room type I picked was super spacious – easily enough room to spread out three suitcases. Plus, it had a wet and dry separation bathroom and a huge round bathtub. They even provided two sets of amenities. Every day from 5-7 PM, there's an alcohol buffet with unlimited drinks. The breakfast the next day was also very rich. Overall, I highly recommend it!"

"Hotel is located on streets with many famous eateries and shops amongst local and foreign tourists. Tenjin Minami station on Nanakuma Line is 5-6 mins away on foot. Travelled in 3 pax and coincidentally on the weekend where there was a bunch concert and live shows happening in the city so hotel rate was extra expensive (normal weekend is alr very expensive).. Found this hotel within our budget and can fit 3 pax. Sofa bed was kinda comfortable but not the pillow. More used to firmer latex ones while the one they provided is either polyester or microfiber filled so it was very very very soft! Room was tight when the 3 of us opened our luggage. Shower has good water pressure. There’s also public bath on site. They provide in room water purifier machine too."

"I made a reservation because it is a new hotel established in 2026. The advantage of this hotel is its excellent location; it is visible just 1-2 minutes from Yakuin Station, and there is a 7-Eleven right next door. There were also quite a few local yakitori restaurants nearby. The facilities were modern, and the single rooms were quite spacious. On the second floor, there were vending machines, water purifiers, microwaves, and washing machines, and it was nice to have a place selling takoyaki and karaage right next door. The downsides were that the inside of the elevator was too dark, which felt a bit stuffy and might even feel scary to some. Also, perhaps because it is a new hotel, the smell of fresh wallpaper in the room was very strong, which was off-putting at first. Turning the lights on and off one by one was also a bit of a hassle, and I wished there was a remote control that could turn them all on at once. Additionally, I wish the hotel's information had been more detailed in Korean, and it would have been nice if they had provided information on nearby facilities as well as how to use the facilities inside the room. Overall, considering the reasonable price, it seemed like a good choice in terms of location and facilities, though it was a bit disappointing that there was no air purifier in the room. Also, if the room had been ventilated sufficiently to eliminate the new smell, it would have been a decent place to stay. The accessibility was good as there was a local yakitori restaurant nearby. The amenities were of good quality, self-check-in was simple, and I would likely come back if the price were reasonable."

"The location was good, next to gofukumachi station, but still requires a little bit of transfer if taking the bus. The hotel was not bad, large bed. However I must mention that there is a bad smell coming from the shower. This seems to correspond to previous complaints by other guests. The breakfast was highly competitive and has almost no space for the guests. This said, the breakfast was high quality."

"The Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata Station's biggest selling point is its excellent location. I had to stay an extra day in Fukuoka because my flight was cancelled due to a typhoon, so I chose Fukuoka No. 1. Overall, the room environment was great, with a balcony and ample space. The mini-bar was completely free, and the complimentary snacks were delicious. There's a communal bath, and while it's not a natural hot spring, it's still nice for a relaxing soak. The Lodge area also offered plenty of free self-service drinks and ice cream. The turndown service was a thoughtful touch, even providing a face mask for each person. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! It was a combination of à la carte mains and a buffet. I highly recommend the unagi don (eel rice bowl) and the steak! My only criticisms would be that the front desk is quite small and merges with the bar, which can get chaotic when there are many people. I also found the room price to be a bit high; comparatively, the Hotel Miyako Fukuoka offers better value for money.

Location ~ very good Room Facilities ~ very good, the room that I booked has a washing machine. Room amenities ~ not that great. Basic amenities. Hotel facilities ~ no swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, but with public bath. Hotel policy ~ very rigid. Standard check in time is 3pm which is understandable. Arrived at 2.30pm asking to check in slightly earlier but was told cannot. Then I asked the standard check out time which is before 10am. I told them I need to catch early flight so not going to stay until 10am. With that, could I proceed to check in at 2.30pm but was told still cannot. Some other hotels that I stayed in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc. are very accommodating. Some hotels in Taiwan not allowed check in early but at least they will perform the check in process, only could collect key at 3pm. However this hotel just let the guests wait at the lobby without doing anything. Finally they opened the check in counter at 2.50pm. Breakfast served at 6.30am. Told them I need to rush to airport early morning, whether I could have my breakfast slightly earlier, or pack some food for me to go airport. Again policy and practice not allowed so. Just too rigid. Not flexible. Breakfast variety okay, but not very good or excellent Would I still return next time? No, I would rather try other hotels. With that, I won't return even though the location is good.

**Location:** It's very close to Gion Station, and about a 5–7 min walk to Kushida Shrine Station and a local supermarket. Canal City Hakata is roughly 10 minutes away on foot. Overall, the location is quite convenient. **Service & Amenities:** Special praise for the reception staff—they were proactive, polite, spoke fluent English, and explained everything clearly. The hotel also provides free amenities, including Sekkisei skincare products and bath salts, which was a lovely touch! **Room & Cleanliness:** The room is spacious enough to fully open 2 to 3 suitcases. I especially loved the large, clean bathroom with its separate wet and dry areas. Housekeeping did a great job—just make sure to put your request magnet/card on the door before 10 AM. **Breakfast:** The food was decent, featuring salads, bread, omelets, sukiyaki, seafood bowls, French toast, and even free-flow wine. Some items require ordering directly from the chef, which caused a bit of a rush due to the crowds, but the staff tried their best to help. The location was superb as it's just a few steps away from the underground entrance to the metro. There's also a 24Hr supermarket just minutes walk from the hotel above ground or if it's raining you can take the metro underground walkway which will also get you right to the entrance of supermarket. There are a few drug stores nearby (for medicine / cosmetics) and some open till 9pm or even midnight. It's only a very short walk to get to Canal city shopping area which has an array of shops and dinning options. We stayed for 5 nights and breakfast was included in our room rate and it was very good with a decent amount of choices (we ended up eating there 4/5 mornings). Although the dinning area was not very big so if you're there during peak hours there could be a bit of a wait. The room was a standard 'Dormy' room that you'd expect in almost any other Dormy Inn but for this particular hotel we felt the cleaning needs a bit of work. We have a habit of wiping down the shelves / tables before placing our things and even after three rounds of wiping with wet cloth / tissue it's still grey which shook us a bit.

Second time in Fukuoka, and another very satisfying stay! The hotel's location is excellent, just a seven to eight-minute walk from Hakata Station. There's a Lawson convenience store right by the back entrance, and while there's a tram line nearby, it wasn't noisy and didn't bother me at all. The room was quite spacious compared to other places I've stayed in Japan, with twin beds and a large desk perfect for piling up snacks from the convenience store. It even had a microwave and a washing machine with a drying function, which was incredibly convenient! Housekeeping is on demand; you can choose to just have your towels replaced or have towels replaced and trash collected. A full cleaning seems to cost extra. For breakfast, you get to choose one main dish out of four options, and then there's a self-service selection of smaller items. It's certainly not comparable to the variety you'd find at a five-star hotel, but it was perfectly adequate. I'm deducting half a star for service because one day the main course was slow to arrive, almost making me late for my plans. Other than that, everything else was excellent!

I booked two rooms, and while their sizes varied, they were both larger than typical city hotel rooms. I requested a high floor, which wasn't granted, but that's okay. However, the rooms faced the messy buildings behind the hotel, which made for a poor view. There was a lot of dust on the bedside tables, which I hope can be improved. There's a large public bath on the third floor, but I didn't get to experience it because of the long lines to get in when it was busy.

Overall, it's a decent hotel, though the bathroom is a bit small. The ground floor is spacious and bright, and there's a rock garden water feature outside the entrance. Plus, there's a free shuttle bus to Hakata Station every day.

Great location! The hotel is right next to Hakata Station, making it super convenient for getting around. The airport shuttle stop/terminal is also just steps away, and the ride to or from Fukuoka Airport only takes about 20–25 minutes. One unexpected bonus was the massage chair in the room — perfect for a tired traveler after a long day. (Note: not all rooms have massage chairs, so it’s worth checking when you book.)

I stayed in Fukuoka for a total of three nights on this trip: two nights in Fukuoka, then one night in Beppu after checking out, and finally back to Fukuoka for another night. To avoid taking my luggage to Beppu, I booked the same hotel, but with two different room types. The standard double room was actually better than the slightly larger room. The bathroom had no strange odors, and while it was a bit smaller (though still relatively large for Japan), the layout was more practical and didn't interfere with placing my luggage. The hotel offers self-service luggage storage, but it's not for overnight. After speaking with the front desk, they kindly allowed me to store my suitcase at the reception given my situation.

I stayed for 3 nights. Let's start with the positives, which actually make up most of my experience~ +1. **Convenient Transportation:** This hotel is incredibly well-located, just 1 kilometer from Hakata Station, Fukuoka's largest transportation hub. I walked there every time. From Hakata Station, you can take a bus directly to the international terminal in about 20 minutes. You can also catch trains here to Dazaifu, Yanagawa, Mojiko, and Kokura. It's even closer to Tenjin Station, another major transport hub, at just over 700 meters away. +2. **Excellent Location:** This area seems to be Nakasu, a lively nightlife district. Many restaurants here stay open until 1-2 AM. There are also numerous 24-hour convenience stores nearby, and their bread is exceptionally good. The famous Nakasu Yatai (food stall) street is just a 5-minute walk away. This area is bustling from morning till night. +3. **Super Fast Wi-Fi:** The hotel's Wi-Fi was the fastest I've ever used in all my years of traveling. Speed tests easily showed upload and download speeds of 100 Mbps, sometimes even faster. So, no worries about internet access. Now, for the downsides: -1. **Small Room & Pricey:** The room was quite small. While a small room isn't necessarily a deal-breaker, this hotel was also very expensive... I paid over 4,000 yen for three nights, which is even pricier than hotels in Tokyo or Osaka. I'm not sure why it was so costly. -2. **Poor Light Blocking Curtains:** The curtains themselves are fine at blocking light. However, there's significant light leakage around the edges of the curtains. Since the bed is directly under the window, if the morning sun is strong, the light seeping through the edges will definitely wake you up. So, is it worth staying here? If the price were lower, say around 900 yen per night, I think it would be a very suitable option. After all, the location is incredibly convenient. I hope they redesign the curtains to block light more effectively. Although I filmed a video, I can't upload it using the browser on my computer, so I'll just stick to text.
