This has been the best hostel on my travels so far. The location is perfect, on the outskirts of the lovely, quiet old town of Shaxi. Also the public area’s, (inside) garden and rooftop are very nice. It just felt very peaceful. The showers and toilets were very clean at all times. The hostelowner helped me book my bus to lijiang. I loved it here!

We really enjoy our stay. The place is clean and very close to the shaxi town. The toilet is so clean and felt like home. Although the room that we stayed is a bit cramped for 2 peoples. Overall, we really enjoy our stay at the place and Shaxi. The people are much more lovely and warm hearted than bigger ancient city. The place is also very quiet and tranquil. And for Muslim friends, you don’t have to worry. There are plenty of qing zhen / halal foods in the town. We hope to visit Shaxi again next time.

Could be one of our favourite stay in China this trip, its not the nicest or most spacious but the owner and staff are super friendly and helpful. They offer free breakfast of sandwich or noodles, they carry our luggage for us to our taxi point. Love it because they way they label all things and being down to earth.

The property is very close to one of the entrances into the old town, so it was very easy to alight the car and just walk over, as cars are not allowed in the old town. First impression of the property was great, as there was a very well maintained garden filled with flowering plants, right when you entered the doors. Eric and Joyce, the friendly and warm owners of this lovely place, were there to greet us too! Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, it was a breeze chatting and learning more about Shaxi from the two of them! This is especially convenient for tourists who are from SG, MY, who may prefer to communicate in English or Cantonese! Rooms were very clean and heaters were available. There is no air conditioning, but frankly, you will not require that at all! The main street of the old town is just a casual walk away, perhaps just 5 mins from the property. But along the way, you would certainly stop by many spots to have pictures taken as the entire place is so scenic! The houses, the vibes, the courtyards etc, everywhere you turn and look, it's just beautiful. There is no lack of places to dine at, once you are at the old town, so despite the fact that the property does not include food, you will never go hungry. All in all, it was a great experience and we would highly recommend anyone who visits Shaxi to stay over at this awesome property!

This homestay in Shaxi Ancient Town completely overturned my imagination of traditional inns! From the moment I stepped into the courtyard, I was surrounded by a strong classical aesthetic atmosphere - blue bricks and black tiles, wooden corridors, a pool of clear water in the middle of the courtyard, dozens of koi fish shimmering in the sun, like a dynamic landscape painting. What's more surprising is the subtle fragrance of calm lines in the air, which is elegant and not greasy, and instantly soothes the impetuousness of the journey. The store manager is really super warm! He took the initiative to upgrade the room type for us for free. The original wood furniture is matched with simple and elegant fabrics. The bedding is as soft as sinking into the clouds, and the details are tasteful everywhere. The favorite is definitely the private balcony! In the morning, make a pot of tea, and the green mountains in the distance are like ink and wash. Time is so slow here that you can hear the wind. At night, you can also listen to the sound of the pool water accompanied by the starlight, which is so romantic that you are at a loss for words~ It is definitely a dimensionality reduction strike in the same price homestay! Service, environment, and details are all online, and even a handmade gift was given before leaving. If you only want to stay in one hotel when you come to Shaxi, choose this one with your eyes closed and you won’t regret it! I have already recommended this treasure homestay to all my friends. This is the reason why I will come to Shaxi next time! ❤️

Felt like travelled back in time staying in this beautiful courtyard. Located just outside the old town where car is still accessible which is convenient for loading/unloading of luggage. Short walk to the old town. There is heated mat on each bed during our winter stay in Dec. Western and Chinese breakfast are available.

The location of the inn is so good! The surrounding supermarkets, pharmacies, and breakfast shops are all available, and shopping is super convenient. You can visit the ancient city as soon as you go out. The inn is a three-way and one-way courtyard of the Bai nationality. It is super filming in the yard or outside the yard. It is very comfortable to drink tea and chat in the yard at night. Parking is free, and the ancient city shuttle luggage service is also provided, which is very convenient. The inn has a good style, complete facilities, good front desk service, intimate, fast check-in, clean and tidy rooms, great network, big beds, clean bathrooms, comfortable baths, warm room attendants, staff are very friendly and helpful, always able to meet my needs in time. It brought me a pleasant stay.

It feels a bit like a small courtyard, very warm and clean. The boss and his family are very welcoming. Shaxi is a good place. It is not recommended for people who like to be lively to come here. You need to feel the tranquility here.

It is an ideal homestay, very close to the ancient town, the yard is very beautiful and quiet, sitting in the yard and having breakfast is very comfortable, and the rice noodles for breakfast are really delicious, the best I have eaten in Yunnan, and there is fresh hot milk to drink in the evening. If I have the chance, I will go again.

Beautiful building. A smaller room with a shared toilet but it is sufficient for me. Have enough space to place my backpacks. A seating area outside and many seating areas around the building. Friendly hosts allowed me to check-in earlier. Shaxi is small so basically walking distance to anywhere.
