The homestay is just 2 mins walk from the taxi drop-off point, and you dont need to drag your luggage too far on the rubble road. Do note that inside the old town, vehicles are not allowed. The market and food stall is just 2 mins walk away, and you can find plenty of local food for breakfast and lunch. Next to the homestay you can find a cafe which serves good americano for just RMB9.90. Highly recommended to stay in this homestay."

"Shaxi old town itself is a true gem on its own, and this place is a gem in a gem. Hidden just outside of the Shaxi old town, it's proximity to the town square （寺登街）is a big plus. The landscape is super cozy, highly suitable for those who want to really have a good break from the hustle and bustle of city life, resting ones mind in an uninterrupted environment. Let's not forget the lady owner taking care of the place, who is so accommodating and helpful. And let's not forget the hot fresh milk provided every evening, which gives another level of warmness to the stay. Notes: if you are here on a Friday, you are of luck. The farmers market held weekly on Friday is just a few minutes walk away from this guesthouse too!"

"It feels a bit like a small courtyard, very warm and clean. The boss and his family are very welcoming. Shaxi is a good place. It is not recommended for people who like to be lively to come here. You need to feel the tranquility here."

"This is a homestay I will stay in again next time I have a chance to go to Shaxi. At first, I saw that the reviews were all recent, so I was a little worried that the boss had hired some internet spies. I didn't expect it to be as good as the reviews said. The hygiene was impeccable. I shared the original pictures with everyone. I have been in Yunnan for a few days, but I didn't dare to book a homestay because I was worried about the hygiene and bedding. I didn't expect the bedding in this homestay to be no worse than those in high-end hotels, and the whole house smart check-in experience is very good. Although it is a new hotel, there is no other odor except for a little bit of the smell of the solid wood furniture itself. The boss is a beautiful lady. She looks like a cool girl but speaks very gently. The local food firewood chicken she recommended is also very delicious. Friends who stay here must try it! There is another point that is worth mentioning separately, there are disposable bath towels! ! Although the bath towels are disinfected and very clean, it is a special plus for some people who mind it. Other toiletries are also carefully selected, especially the disposable comb, which is my favorite folding comb. It is very convenient to put it directly in the bag! The coffee for afternoon tea is made by the young lady herself, and it has latte art. The taste is the same as the ones you get in coffee shops outside that cost thirty or forty cups. In short, the coffee beans are very fragrant, and should be dark roasted, which is my favorite type! I would also like to give a special compliment to the breakfast, which is cooked porridge 😭. It is so important for us as Cantonese people. I am really tired of eating rice noodles after a few days. It is so happy to have a bowl of vegetable and lean meat porridge cooked by auntie early in the morning! It was delicious. In addition to the porridge, there were other grains and eggs. We finished a big bowl! In short, it is a very attentive B&B, and it can be seen that the owner pays more attention to the quality of the B&B!"

"This is a place I will miss after I leave! 1. It is quiet, unlike the noisy area near Sideng Street. I rested very well these days and was not woken up. The guests are also more qualified and there is no trouble of being woken up in the morning. 2. Cars and small yellow cars can drive directly to the door, and there is no need to drag the suitcase to find a place on the stone road. 3. It is only three or five minutes to walk from Sideng Street? Anyway, it is convenient 4. The room is very large, and the bed is Mousse, which is moderately soft and hard. It is great for my delicate waist! Finally, I will not wake up by back pain! From the courtyard to the room facilities, the decoration is very attentive! The quality of bedding and disposable products is also good! 5. The boss is very kind, and the rice noodles for breakfast are so delicious! It tastes better than what I have eaten outside these days! And buckwheat cakes? It seems to be called this. "Felt like travelled back in time staying in this beautiful courtyard. Located just outside the old town where car is still accessible which is convenient for loading/unloading of luggage. Short walk to the old town. There is heated mat on each bed during our winter stay in Dec. Western and Chinese breakfast are available."

"Very quiet courtyard. Convenient to travel, there is a free parking lot at the door. It takes only a few minutes to walk from the courtyard to the ancient town. The owner is very hospitable. He came out to greet us when we first arrived and helped with the luggage. The room has air conditioning and plenty of hot water. This time I booked a family suite, which has a small living room, spacious space, good hygiene, comfortable mattress, and high cost performance. I stayed for four nights and was very satisfied."

"As I booked two rooms seperately, this is the same review as my first. This has got to be my most memorable stay while travelling around Yunnan. Operated by a lovely couple, this homestay is tasteful and thoughtful and has all the necessity you need for a great night sleep and more. I wished I stayed a few more days as it was such a peaceful and beautiful home to be in. Decked across two floors, I think the bigger rooms are on the second floor which they will help with carrying luggages. The smaller rooms seems to be on the ground floor. Location wise, while they are not located in the old town itself, that's the beauty of it. The environment is thus peaceful and quiet and they have offered to drive us into the main town if needed. Breakfast was thoughtful, nutritious, beautifully presented and served at the tea area. One cannot help but feel culturally transformed by the hospitality of this place. I truly wish them all the best in their new business adventure. Even my elderly parents were impressed. Hope to be back again."

"In the ancient town of Jianchuan, this homestay is on the northwest side of the ancient town. It is most convenient to drive or take a taxi to the west gate of the ancient town. The owner of the homestay is a young lady who has been doing handicrafts, and her hands are very clever. I really like the softness and relaxation of Yunnan people."
