We booked the quadruple room for 3 of us, room was small with us getting into each other's way quite often. There is also no space to put luggages (we had 2 medium ones) except the window ledge which was lined up against the beds. There were mirrors reflecting each other everywhere in the room, including a mirror in the middle of the room where there was a divider for the tv (seen covered with a towel in the photo). Also there were 3 large mirrors in the bathroom, the only wall with no mirror was the door.  It is branded as an eco hotel, there is no water provided in the room, except an empty water bottle which you can fill up at designated floors in the hotel. The 2 lifts were super busy and was crowded alot of the times when we took it. Note there was also no hand soap in the bathroom. I thought it may have been missed out so I asked at the front desk and was told they don't provide any handsoap. So I asked for another bottle of shower gel to be placed at the sink, and was given a Johnson and Johnson baby shower gel. The only good thing was - slippers provided were good and anti-slip. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were from Elemis.  All in all, will not be staying here again. The abundance of mirror was creepy.

The cleanliness our first room was horrible, pillows has bugs(not sure if is bed bugs ), when I called the front desk and ask the lady to come and check instead they don’t believe , the lady she won’t even step inside the room her self and she face expression wasn’t surprise and say will change us to the second room but there was black stain (didn’t take pictures. So changing to the third room, we arrive late like 11lish pm plus I have two young kids and a lot of luggage’s so I’m tired and say as long there third room has no bugs I could settle in. While trying to contact trip.com which they wasn’t helpful as much can’t even give me refund the rest of the night and say ask the hotel. The next morning I have to say the guy manger was much better help and trying to provide a great service for the worst experience I have and change us to a much cleaner and bigger room for us (I think it was upgrade) but I feel like the lady should had done that on the first night and shouldn’t had waiting the next morning and I need to ask for changing room bc the third room I realize in the morning it wasn’t the best for cleanliness like the mole in the washroom, table, fridge, and rundown appliance. The only positive thing I had at this hotel was the manager trying to help me to make my rest of stay more comfortable, but have to say the hotel itself is so rundown and not well maintain. Also other staff need a better training of dealing situation like this instead of feeling annoying.

The room was a bit small but very clean. The location is incredibly convenient for transportation and there are plenty of amenities nearby. While the neighborhood can be a bit chaotic, the hotel itself felt very safe. I stayed on a high floor, and you need to swipe your room card in the elevator to access your specific floor, and only the floor where your room is located. The walls are a bit thin, so soundproofing is just okay.

1/ The hotel location is good, not far from Prince Edward Station C2 exit. 2/ The hotel room is okay, with two single beds and a relatively large bathroom. 3/ Hotel check-in was also okay, but the staff seemed quite serious. 4/ The elderly gentleman and the young man who handled luggage storage were very nice, at least polite and smiling. What's frustrating is that when I returned to my room at night, I found a garbage bag filled with trash left on the desk, weighing down my face towel. I called the front desk, and no one answered the first time. I called again, and a man answered. When I explained the situation, he showed no surprise or apology, simply stating in a flat tone, ”My colleague will come and pick it up.” I can only guess they often don't deal with garbage bags in time, so they're used to it and don't see it as a big deal….

I love the Mei Ho House, and I love Sham Shui Po. You get spacious rooms for a very affordable price, plus you can experience Hong Kong's public housing culture. The complimentary breakfast is also delicious, and the restaurant decor is very retro. Sham Shui Po is truly a paradise for budget-friendly food; there's just too much to eat! Right next door is the famous Garden Bakery Company, which has opened a cafe and factory outlet. And from Garden Hill, behind Mei Ho House, you can enjoy a stunning night view.

The hotel is near the train stations, and it is easy to navigate. Very accessible for commuters. The room is clean, and we had a pleasant stay while resting. We have to check in beyond front desk hours due to the late flight schedule, but the host is very responsive in the message. Check-in was smooth due to clear instructions.

I feel extremely lucky to have found this little gem in Hong Kong. The dorms are extremely well laid out, with plenty of space for the suitcase and personal belongings. The bedrooms and bathrooms are sparkling clean, the common areas are cosy, there's everything you need in terms of kitchen utensils, the water pressure in the showers is amazing, the rooftop is a really place to hang out in the evenings, and most of all, the host Patricia makes you feel at home. I got there solo, and after a few nights I'm leaving with a bunch of friends. This place certainly has a magical power 😊

This hostel, which is labeled ”cohabitation space”, is actually a youth hostel. The room is super small and there is basically no space to move around. You have to flash left and right to avoid the bathroom when you put the suitcase. The shower room is very narrow. The worst thing is that there is no hot water the night before check-out, there is no phone in the room to inform the front desk, and there is no phone to contact the staff on duty on the Internet. Unless ”you” are willing to go to the first floor to find security guards in this case. Really, if you have something, ask for blessings, there is no way to ask for help. Only hard scalp with cold water shower. The whole hostel has a faint smell, like the smell of a ditch... The only advantage is the location.

The people at the front desk were polite and professional. I had been traveling for about 33 hours with no sleep, and they let me check in early. I appreciate that! I didn't care for the location, though. Maybe it was a 12-minute walk to Prince Edward Station. Plus, there were lots of hardware stores and home rennovation businesses nearby. If you have a lot of luggage, I wouldn't choose this place, unless you take a taxi. If you just have a small suitcase, then this place is OK for a couple of days, sure.

Tips for Booking Hong Kong Hotels

Book Early for Peak Travel Seasons

Hong Kong gets especially busy during Chinese New Year (January–February), Golden Week (early October), and Christmas. Hotels in popular areas like Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Causeway Bay often sell out or spike in price—so book well in advance.

Watch Out for Major Events

Expect higher rates during international trade fairs, art shows, and concerts at venues like the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, AsiaWorld–Expo, or West Kowloon Cultural District. Hotel demand surges during events like Art Basel, Rugby Sevens, and K-pop tours.

Save More with Trip.com Perks

New users can get up to 8% off select Hong Kong hotel bookings on Trip.com. Helpful for offsetting Hong Kong’s 10% service charge—or upgrading to harbour-view rooms with breakfast included.

Stay Smart with Location Choices

On a budget? Consider staying in areas like Sheung Wan, Sai Ying Pun, or North Point instead of Central or Tsim Sha Tsui. These neighborhoods still offer easy MTR access, great food, and local charm—without the high-end hotel prices.

AAnonymous UserIt's really clean, and the location is easy to find. The soundproofing is good, and the room was cleaned daily. The cleaning staff even folded my pajamas, which was very thoughtful. The only minor downsides were that the sink was a bit low and the faucet didn't swivel, so splashing water while washing my face was unavoidable. Other than that, everything else was great. The rooms all come with a safe and a mini-fridge.
