Hong Kong Eastern District Hotels

This hotel is part of the Empire chain, situated just beside another hotel from the same chain. It feels like a typical 4-5 star hotel, which is super. The bed came with soft and hard pillows, the bed was super comfortable, the toilet was big and clean. Honestly, no qualms about the room and physical aspects of the hotel. The stay also came with a free afternoon tea which was a buffet, which is really nice, and also lounge access on the 30th floor (both of which are in the sister hotel next door). What I found kind of annoying though was that despite the free amenities above, the hotel does not give any bottled water nor shaving kits or any amenities in the name of going green. I mean sure, I’m an advocate for going green, but surely everyone still needs to drink water, no? Maybe provide a reusable bottle and a water dispenser somewhere, that might be better than not providing any water at all. To their credit though, they do have a vending machine on the ground floor that serves drinks and amenities at a price.

As usual the I Club in Fortress Hill was great. However, our room had a few issues as the main blind that blocks light was in bad shape and we struggled to open and close it. The beds are a little hard, but manageable. Furthermore, service was great and our room was always kept neat and clean by the staff without even having to ask. Thank you again for a great stay at the Fortress Hill I Club.

A very quiet room in a very convenient location. The design of the bathroom is particularly impressive! It is user-friendly and everything is within arms’ reach. The staff members are all friendly, the porters and cleaning ladies in particular. The bar on 23/F has a stunning view of the Victoria harbour overlooking the Kaitak area with discounted prices of food and beverages for in-house guests. Overall speaking, a very pleasant experience.

Empire Hotel Causeway Bay - Hong Kong This hotel exceeded all my expectations. I knew already a while ago that Hong Kong hotels are small in sizes due to how expensive real estate here is, but given how small the space they were able to make it very comfortable for me. I am traveling solo and yet it just feels like I am in my apartment in Vancouver, BC. The location of this hotel is also amazing as I am one of those leisure travelers who avoid fancy areas as I want to experience Hong Kong just like the locals where nearby markets, family-owned restaurants and shopping areas are. Cleanliness and service is top-notch too! I couldn’t say a thing about how awesome it is. Soundproofing is amazing too. Also, their airconditioning unit is pretty cold and great for the hot Hong Kong weather. I will surely be back and look to book this hotel again. Consider it a compliment as I don’t usually go back to the same hotel unless it was exceptional of an experience!

My stay at Ibis North Point from February 1 to February 2 was truly delightful! The hotel's prime location made exploring Hong Kong effortless, with the MTR station, trams, and bus stops just steps away. Check-in was efficient and hassle-free, with the staff being warm, professional, and always ready to assist. The room was cozy, spotless, and well-designed, making the most of the space while offering breathtaking harbor views. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Despite being compact, the bathroom was clean and functional, stocked with fresh towels and essential toiletries. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, perfect for both work and leisure. The breakfast buffet was a pleasant surprise, featuring a good mix of Asian and Western options, all fresh and tasty. For affordable comfort, convenience, and excellent service, Ibis North Point is an outstanding choice, and I would happily stay here again!

Cleanliness: only 3 because found hair in the bath tub and a few dirt spots here and there. So naturally assumed it wasn't cleaned to the best of standard. Location: is good. Great for views when you book the correct room and facing the right way. I made that error. Oops. Be careful of the description from Trip when it says ”harbour” it may not be the harbour you want haha Service and amenities: bring your own toiletries if you wanna save..it's a HK govt initiative to stop providing toiletries. BRING WATER. They do sell these items at cheap at the concierge. And you have to go down to get it. For the amount you pay, you might as well stay home :) and do your own stuff haha I will choose another hotel next time. My favourite is the upper house if you want to stay on the island or any of the nice hotels in TST for the views.

Great location, reasonable price, great front desk services. The only downside so far is the cleaning service, have already remark ahead of time for the cleaning time but they will still call (very early) and keep asking at the hallway on when can they clean the room🤦🏻♂️unbelievable!

I don't believe this hotel deserves a four-star rating. There are only three elevators, which often become quite crowded. I had to skip a few and wait for a less busy one. Additionally, the swimming pool is currently closed. Being an older building, the water pressure is not very good; I imagine it’s challenging to provide hot water to the higher floors. The air conditioning seems to be malfunctioning, as it blows out cold air instead of heating. Overall, the hotel feels quite outdated and could benefit from a thorough cleaning. I didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that aspect. On the positive side, the hotel is conveniently located about a ten-minute walk from the North Point subway station. There is a 24/7 check-in desk, which I appreciated since I arrived at 4 AM. However, my room was quite cold, so I requested an extra blanket, and they promptly provided one.

It’s nice that the rooms are all available so the receptionist offered us to choose different type of room thanks for that! ;))) 3. The bed is comfortable and big enough for two ppl 4. The room is super clean 5. Open and transparent shower “room” is nice tho!!! 6. Convenient! They offer QR code to request any service such as “towel, cutlery, bucket of ice etc.) you don’t even need to call!! 7. It’s perfect that they made us to stay until 2PM Wonderful stay

I recently stayed at the Harbour Plaza North Point Hotel on 31/12/2024 and I wanted to share my experience. Unfortunately, my stay had several challenges that impacted my overall satisfaction. Since there were no available double bed rooms on the non-smoking floor, I was assigned to a smoking room on 9/F. As a non-smoker, I expected a slight cigarette smell, but the odor in the room was quite heavy. I informed housekeeping to spray air freshener while I was out for dinner, but the smell persisted, and even after checking out, I could still smell it on my clothes. Additionally, the room itself felt outdated, reminiscent of the 1980s, and it is in urgent need of upgrades and maintenance. The decor and furnishings could definitely benefit from a refresh to enhance the guest experience. Another downside was the Wi-Fi connectivity. The signal in my room was poor, making it impossible to download games to my Switch. I found myself having to stand in the corridor just to complete the download, which was quite inconvenient. On a positive note, the staff were polite and attentive, which made a difference in my stay. I also appreciated the spaciousness of the room, which provided some comfort despite the other issues. In summary, while the Harbour Plaza North Point Hotel has potential with its friendly staff and spacious accommodations, significant improvements are needed in terms of room conditions, maintenance, and amenities.
