Great
NNicoleIt is a very lovely guest house with great atmosphere. Especially, I have to thank a staff who was on duty on 18th night shift sincerely. My grandmother was uncomfortable on that night, we were looking for pills to stop her stomach ache from the reception at around 3am in the midnight, the staff was very kind, he drove my sister to the nearest convenience store to get the pills and finally my grandmother felt better after that.
HHang huayI strongly recommend English comfort house if you’re looking for a good place for staying in Ipoh. Although it is not located near to the city centre of Ipoh, but you can easily access it if you’re driving. The house provides you with everything that you need. comfort beds, high speed internet, food and drinks, board games, and etc. Rachel responded promptly to questions and provided clear instructions for check in/out procedures. You will surely want to continue staying with them again next time when you are back to Ipoh.
AAnonymous UserAlmost couldn’t access the unit I booked as no check in instructions were given. Thankfully it was easy to contact the owner/management, and issue was resolved promptly.
Pros: Located in a strategic area with easy access to town. The Anderson is quite a peaceful place to stay in.
Cons: Very unclear and confusing parking lots; arrows directing traffic has faded. Luckily not many cars during my stay so it wasn’t too dangerous.
Toilet’s bidet was leaking and some aircon remote not functioning. Hopefully owner can fix it.
Overall a good one-night stay, would recommend for those who just needs a place to sleep.
TTerence Yong RenThe property is a newly built bungalow just beside a hill and a temple. there are plenty of local foods around within a few minutes of walking distance. the check in check out is very simple, and the host and caretaker are friendly. since it's slightly further out from the city, the air is fresh especially so because we are beside one of the big hills.
One downside: at night, there will be a low pitch humming, which I presume is the pump running for the water tanks. it didn't bother me, but soundproofing could be improved for the rooms.
there's enough parking at the property or beside it for about 6-7 cars, so no issues there.
GGuest UserThe look and feel of Sarang Paloh is lovely. It has an old world style which we loved. The location is also great, ten minutes from the station and close to lots of restaurants and spots in the old town.
The room has a nice style to it as does the garden you walk through. The room facilities were lacking, with no fridge and no safe which we would expect at this price point. Hot water in the shower doesn’t last long and they provide a 3 in 1 body wash, shampoo and conditioner, again something we wouldn’t expect at this price point. The hotel also doesn’t offer room cleaning. This may have been because we stayed for two nights only but this is not communicated on the website or at check in. This meant used cups or water bottles aren’t cleared nor is the rubbish bin emptied. We were also not made aware of locally available discounts for staying at the hotel.
All in all an ok stay but several small things made this not value for the money we paid.
GGuest UserI have no idea why there are negative reviews on here. I spent last night there and the place is lovely. Very comfortable room, lovely bed and bedding (and mosquito net)
The place is well thought out, creative, fun. The room was very private and the hot water was bang on demand.
The staff were polite and organised and I loved the place very much. Sitting on the balcony watching the lightning storm was magical. I look forward to staying again when I’m in Ipoh.
The price is actually unbelievable for what you get. Amazing lah.
AAdaIt’s a house that they separated into one small unit (2 doublebed) and another big unit (one with a living room that we didn’t stay) I would stay for the location but if you value privacy, i wouldn’t recommend because the two units are separated by a makeshift door where you can see the other unit through the gaps and then hear other people talk. Then sharing one parking. They didnt have clear signage (the number fell off i presumed) But service is fast and helpful! (We had issues with the wifi because the other unit turn it off)
Llu_with_a_viewFantastic stay! Clean, comfortable pillows & mattress (without a bedframe - not a problem for us but just so you know). Nice sized room with hanging area & shelf. Good AC. Sufficient amount of toilets/showers, & shower has hot water. The location is great, close to the train station & by many restaurants. Note: reception is inside the compound, not on the street. Check in was simple and service friendly (though one gent on the desk couldn't help us with any info on buses to the Cameron Highlands). Pool area was cleaned daily. Would stay again.
GGuest UserRoom was clean, 1 king bed and 1 single bed. Have small bath tub, kid like it much. Hotel have small kid pool as well, consider indoor. No worry raining day. Have mini cinema room, time allow until 9pm. We have good experience in hotel. One thing to improve is the sound insulation. Stay at level 2, kids pool noise clearly disturb during morning/evening nap.
