This ryokan is perfect for people who want to experience ryokan for the first time but want something cheaper within Hakone area. Situated on the main road with buses to Owakudani and train to Odawara. I'd recommend catching the bus from Odawara to this ryokan since the walking trail from the closest station to this place is hilly and has lots of stairs. Main road is not very luggage friendly so pack very light when you're staying here. This place has very nice rooms with view to the river behind it. The view is spectacular when the entire river area is covered in red autumn leaves. Dinner and breakfast are very delicious, you will be served a range of traditional food from a la carte to dessert. You can also book your private indoor onsen FOR FREE. The ryokan also has an open outdoor onsen across the bridge for 3000 JPY. The only downside of this place is the main road is very busy as it's the only way for people to drive from Odawara to Owakudani. So local people take this road to get to Owakudani. Buses from this place will not stop at there in the weekend. Your best plan is to go to Lake Ashi first and take the opposite route to Owakudani instead. Plan your trip in this area very carefully because a bus trip that would take 10-15 minutes will end up taking you 1 to 1.5 hours.

It is an older hot spring hotel. After reading the comments from netizens, I was a little worried that there would be an uncomfortable smell, and I was also worried that the facilities including the room would affect the stay experience. After arriving, the entrance and lobby were quite comfortable. The corridor on the third floor had a slightly old smell, but it was actually okay. The room was very comfortable, larger than expected, and the view facing the stream was pleasant, and the bed was very soft. I was particularly satisfied with the price of more than 5,000 for three people. The two meals exceeded my expectations. I didn't expect the beef for dinner to be very good 👍I recommend the outdoor private soup, you must make an appointment, it's very healing. Compared with the hotel that was almost three times the price of the second night in Hakone, the price-performance ratio is really high and worth experiencing 👍

The room is very big, it's a pure Japanese hotel, the service is very considerate, and the hot spring is also very good. There is a stream outside the room, which is very mountainous. The meal is also very good, and it will be different tomorrow. Not everyone can adapt to it, but if you want to experience the pure Japanese style, it is highly recommended.

Transportation is ambiguous as it is a bit further from Yumoto Station. The facilities are not great, but they are cozy.

The service is super good, the scenery is also very good, you must try the outdoor hot spring, the whole person becomes energetic after soaking. The two meals are also very good, although a little cold haha, if you are not used to it, you can bring some instant noodles or something.

Beautiful environment, thoughtful and considerate service. Although I couldn't understand Japanese, the old lady and grandfather still served enthusiastically. Hakone in December is really beautiful!!!

The review said that it smelled like soy sauce when you got off the elevator, but I guess it was because they brought the food to the room. I was worried about the smell because they said it was a smoking room, but it didn't smell. The best part was the blanket that looked like a melon bread, and I slept really well. The food was good, but the sukiyaki (shabu-shabu) was made with pork, so it was unfamiliar, and I left it. It was awkward and embarrassing to bring the food to the room, lay out the blanket, and clean it up. My daughter and I went to the private hot spring, but it was dark and quiet, so we came back after 30 minutes because we were scared. If you are easily scared, try to use it when it's not too hot. It was good for experiencing Japanese hot spring ryokan culture.

The hotel has convenient transportation. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from Hakone-Yumoto Station, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful. Although the facilities are a bit old, they are very clean and the service staff are very polite. Our room was a river view room. It had a lot of space and there was no noise. The Japanese futon was very comfortable and we had a good rest. Highly recommended.

I think ~ those who send guests out should not and should not know the way at all, because the map also pointed it out ~ tourists' time is precious! Take the wrong direction to the terminal Odawara Station, and then take the bus into the scenic area Gora ~ it takes almost two hours to go back and forth! Too much! ! ! ! !
