The location of the hotel is relatively remote, and it takes about ten minutes to walk from the nearest big platform station. To climb a long slope. The hotel facilities are relatively simple and do not serve meals. There are no restaurants around, so eating is a bit troublesome. Maybe because of the epidemic, the hotel seems to have only one employee to manage the entire hotel, who is only responsible for changing bath towels and cleaning up garbage every day, no more services.

Response from Property: Thank you! The hotel provides shuttle service to and from the station. Because it is located at the highest point of the Hakone Grand Platform, it has the most beautiful scenery in the whole Hakone. From the room you can see the view of Mt. Hakone, sunrise and sunset. Aerial view of Sagami Bay, beautiful scenery, fresh air, refreshing. Especially soaking in hot springs can eliminate the fatigue of the day as you wrote, and I look forward to VIP guests coming to Hakone Harbourfront Hotel again to enjoy Japanese hot spring culture.

○ About service
Infants were free, but it was helpful to borrow the same towels and yukata as adults. The child was delighted because the children's slippers were Pikachu.
○ Vending machines, etc.
Since the provision of meals has been suspended, I would like you to enrich the variation of vending machines. It's good to have vegetable juice or corn soup.
Spicy cup noodles were sold at the front desk, but children couldn't eat them, so breakfast was mostly snacks on hand.
The nearby convenience store is closed at 6:00 p.m., making it inconvenient to procure food.
○ Hot springs and facility conditions
It was a good hot water that feels thick.
The inside of the building was renovated and it was relatively clean and safe within 10 years.

Nestled on a quiet hilltop in the small village of Ohiradai the Harriway Summit View Onsen Hotel is a perfect rest stop for those visiting the Hakone area. The location is serene and quiet with stunning views and the divine sound of spring water trickling through the town. For those on the free pass doing the Hakone loop; simply start at Hakone-yumoto station and head towards Motohakone-ko and you'll arrive there at end of your adventure. We received a genuinely warm greeting from the sweet owner. She showed us our spacious room, dressed my daughter in her yukata and gave us a hotel tour. Our western style room was huge and well appointed, though the beds were a tad hard for someone used to a cushy sleep. The onsen is divine. My five year old and I enjoyed a tranquil soak twice; in the evening and the early morning. They are gender segregated and feature a picturesque forest view. Something to note: this is a quiet spot, outside the hustle and bustle of Hakone proper. There are few food options and the local convenience stores close early. So either eat before you arrive or bring food with you. Overall a wonderful stay and one I would heartily recommend. I'd definitely stay again next time I visit the area.
