GGuest UserThe hotel is in a great location—well-appointed, refined, and quiet, facing a park. You can catch a bus right outside, making it very convenient to reach the train station and the city center. The front desk and concierge services are very attentive and thoughtful. The hotel has a more classical style, and even the public restrooms are very clean. The room includes a separate kitchen, which is very convenient. However, there are a few drawbacks: 1. The air conditioning is not in operation recently, so the room feels rather stuffy. 2. The size and comfort of the pillows may vary from person to person, but I personally didn’t find them very comfortable. 3. The large shower head has some water stains, hence slightly clogged, causing the water flow to be less smooth.

BB ~ LengThe check-in went smoothly until the receptionist told us that we had requested a non-AC room (with the AC to be disconnected during our stay), supposedly based on a note from Trip.com. I told the receptionist that I definitely did not make such a request—especially not in the middle of summer—and asked to see the note from Trip.com. They couldn’t show me the note and instead claimed that, since I was now denying the request, the note had already been removed. We were checked into a non-AC room, and the hotel promised to send a technician to reboot the AC. That never happened. Eventually, we were moved to another room where the AC was already functioning. The whole situation felt suspicious. It seemed like the receptionist was trying their luck by placing us in a non-AC room. What’s even more ironic is that the new room had a welcome note addressed to me, while the non-AC room was completely bare, with no such note. We definitely won’t be coming back. The hotel staff came across as insincere and pretentious.

GGuest UserThe hotel is about 20 minutes walk to the city center. Rooms are clean and decent size. We stayed for 4 days and room were cleaned every day. Easy check in and out. We were given the rooms even before official check in time. The hotel is really good for the price, excellent for short stay. Will definitely stay there is I ever visit Lyon again.

KKiah SophiaI had a great stay, and will definitely be back! The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, the hotel itself was clean and tastefully decorated, and I had quite possibly the best cocktails of my life at their bar. Very well located with the train just in front of the property that can take you anywhere you need to go, and is only a few stops away from the central station to catch your train out of the city. Also dog friendly! Highly recommend.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very new. As the information shows, it was newly renovated in 3019. There is a large restaurant on the first floor. There is free coffee and chocolate machine 24 hours a day. You can drink as much as you want, as well as snacks and fruits. The room is also quite large and new. It is a very good experience.

GGuest UserThe cleanliness was not satisfactory — I found dirty shoe prints and someone else’s hair in the bathtub. I reported the issue to the front desk and requested a room change, but they told me there were no available rooms that night and asked me to handle it myself. The location is average, not very close to the city center. The positive side is that the hotel is very quiet, the bed is comfortable, and the gym is quite good.

GGuest UserWe stayed at a double room in the Sofitel in Lyon for a total of 3 nights in the summer of 2023. The hotel is located just a few streets from the Place Bellecour which is one of the main squares in Lyon. It is also about 5 minutes away from many cafes, bistros and a large supermarket (Monop’) near Place Bellecour. The room itself was a fairly standard double room (approximately 20 square metres). The interior and furnishings of the hotel look a bit dated but they were fine and did not matter in any material way. The minibar is complimentary and it is restocked daily with bottled water (still and sparkling), fruit juice, coca cola, and dried fruits and nuts. The bed was nice and comfortable and the pillows were firm. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning was not very consistent and it would turn off in the middle of the night. It is not an issue if you are staying here in the winter but it made it difficult to sleep at night in the summer. The staff were all very nice and pleasant. The concierge was especially friendly and he helped us to store our bags and arrange for a taxi to the train station on our last day. We paid approximately EUR250 a night and we thought it was worth the price.
