Indigo Hotels in Guangzhou

Exceeded my expectations, and I'll definitely be back. Prior to my stay, I was a bit worried because I learned the rooms only had coffee tables, which wasn't ideal for my work needs. I arrived bracing myself for a potential letdown. However, I was incredibly surprised to find a hotel nestled in such a lush, tree-lined oasis, teeming with egrets, right in the heart of Zhujiang New Town. It truly sets itself apart from other properties here. I absolutely love the old building's conversion – it's full of nostalgic charm and has a wonderful, authentic character. The balcony, though small, immediately offers views of green trees and birdsong. The clever addition of a metal countertop to the railing transforms it into a perfect little bar area, ideal for unwinding with a drink and simply gazing out. This spot offers the closest proximity to Canton Tower on the north bank of the Pearl River. While Zhujiang New Town isn't short of hotels with glass-enclosed views of Canton Tower (though those windows are rarely spotless!), the unobstructed, close-up, upward gaze at the Tower from here is far more visually stunning and impactful. The room's decor features the typical Indigo color palette, which perfectly complements the hotel's old-building-conversion style. The biggest highlight, however, was seeing countless egrets and herons gathering in flocks in the tree canopies every morning and evening – it was absolutely captivating and such a huge bonus!
