Fantastic service at this small old style heritage hotel. We had a small problem with our room which disturbed our sleep and on the second day the staff immediately tried to rectify the issue, and eventually upgraded us to another property on the same day. Wonderful!

The hotel staff are very nice. I remember Amer and the night guard were trying to satisfy all requests from guests. The rooms are well decorated with colonial style furniture. Only One thing I don’t like is the air conditioning is a bit too straight to the bed but it’s acceptable.

Very friendly service, unique colonial architecture, clean and spacious rooms, the hotel restaurant Steak Frites also served some of the best steak I've had.

I travel to Penang from time to time for a getaway leisure - for its food, historical buildings, and trying all kinds of lodgings. The look and facilities are by far my favourite in Georgetown — very tasteful arts, furnitures, coloured cushions, little book nook, lovely greens and garden, such crafty variety of how they use the space — you will always find your coziest spot. Not doing anything else, I just pampered myself finding my most comfy armchair and read. Before visiting, I noticed previous reviews about the hygiene — I’m not particularly allergic; I think it’s fine with this price range. However compared to my next lodging, there was room to slightly improve indeed. The bathroom, floors, and furnitures are fine; it’s more about the dusty window panes and walls, and the air-con seems just too outdated and be placed facing your head when sleeping (strongly suggest they add a wind deflector). I treasure the mere existence of how the owner wants to run this gem. Staff all so welcoming and thoughtful too, especially the 阿伯 uncle and a young guy at breakfast shift.

The location is convinced, 5-10 mins walking distance to street foods areas and lovely hotel. Is noisy from the restaurants nearby.

Very cosy and authentic place !

Liked the location. Walking distance to nearby places of inrerests and restaurants and street foof. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was included, the standard american breakfast or local roti canai. But upon checking into the room. Found a dead cockroach and a used bath towel in the room. Informed reception, who immediately went to check and removed them. Could do with some upgrading of the property as they appeared worned and tired.

Behind the hotel room is a road, night time might be disturbed by vehicle passing by n there are quite a lot of mosquito.

I love this hotel so much! It is artistic and tasteful. The paintings and furniture used are carefully selected. You can see that a lot of thought has been put into the interior decoration. The house has been in existence for almost two hundred years and has been carefully restored. There is also a booklet in the lobby that talks about the detailed inspection of the house. The design of the space is great, with a garden and a staircase full of flowers. The room is spacious, bright and clean, and there are two wash basins in the bathroom. The hotel's breakfast is very good, with local nasi lemak and Western breakfast; there is also free afternoon tea (the yellow cassava cake is delicious, but not every day); when you are tired, you can go back to the hotel to rest, drink tea, eat snacks and read for a while. It is very comfortable. The service staff is very polite and considerate, and they are responsive to every request; We arrived in the morning on the day of check-in, but we were allowed to check in at 11 o'clock. The two cats in the hotel are very cute. The location is convenient. There is a Michelin-listed Nyonya restaurant not far away. Unfortunately, there was a wedding banquet when I walked over, so I didn't taste it. Occasionally, there is the sound of a car passing by, but it does not affect sleep.

Definitely the best hotel in Penang🔥🔥🔥 I spent a very nice night here. The staff here were very helpful. They always smiled and chatted with me in a friendly way. I came a little early on the day of check-in. Not only did the staff not refuse my early check-in, they also upgraded me to a super spacious room with very retro furnishings and a large bathroom with two sinks! I was very pleasantly surprised by all this! The public area decoration of the hotel is also very casual and suitable for checking in. I personally think it is much better to take pictures than the Nyonya Museum in Penang. If you don’t like to clock in, you can also stay at the dining table in the public space to dine while admiring the scenery of the hotel. The breakfast in the hotel is also very delicious. I had a big breakfast, which was very filling. There were also some breads and cereals to choose from. The breakfast lounge is a Chinese-style space, and there are fans to keep you cool. The whole breakfast is satisfying and comfortable. When I left, I asked the staff to store my luggage for me until the evening, and they readily agreed. I am very grateful that they were willing to store my luggage for me even after checking out. I am very grateful. The experience of staying here is first-class. It gave me a very good memory in Penang. If I have the opportunity to visit Penang again, this place will definitely be my best choice!

I thought it would be convenient to book a big suite for two families, but it turned out that this room was an old house on another road and had nothing to do with this hotel. 1. The photos on the platform are too different from the actual situation. The lighting in the whole house is very dim, and there is a whole gloomy and terrifying atmosphere. If I knew it was such a room, I would never book it. 2. Although the house is large, the hygiene is very poor, and many facilities are covered with a layer of dust. 3. Because it is an independent house outside, there is no staff to provide services at all, and you have to find anything you need by yourself. 4. My friend's bag was placed in the room. When he came back, there was a small bag similar to a coin bag on the top, which was obviously turned over. 5. Because the room is on the roadside, the noise is very loud, and the words of passers-by can be heard clearly.
