It’s a simple no frills hotel. It had all that we needed, at an affordable price. The bar next door was very lively so if you are into love music it’s perfect to pop over or it might delay your sleep a bit. Lovely staff. Great location right by the pier.

The hotel is in a good location, less than 100 meters from the beach, more than 200 meters from the city center and pier, and a 20-minute walk from the train station. The breakfast is rich, with bacon, sausages, fried eggs, yogurt, fruits, etc.

Stayed here for 3 nights in July and we were pleasantly surprised at what we got for our money. The room, although not salubrious, was more than adequate. We made the mistake of thinking for the price the breakfast would not be up to much and skipped it for the couple of mornings, how we regretted that decision, the third morning we decided to have the breakfast and it was excellent. Location is perfect, right on the front and only about 50/100 yards from the pier. Would definitely return.

The room was a good size , the staff were very attentive. A special mention to the manger hanny for his help. Breakfast was good . The location is ideal . The room was a bit hot, but the staff got us a fan which helped.

My wife and I greatly enjoy spending a few days a month at Eastbourne especially as we love staying at Shore View Hotel. The rooms are clean and well maintained by the lovely and efficient staff. The service and management have been consistently excellent during the years that we have been staying at the hotel and members of staff at the reception are always very welcoming, warm and professional. A special thank you goes to the wonderful Paulo with our best wishes for a very Happy Birthday on Thursday!

Perfect location right on the front. Parking wasn't an issue in local streets, and hotel will sell a card to enable 24hrs parking for £2.50 in zone H. Buffet breakfast, and very reasonable rooms, which were more than adequate for our 2 night break. No wi-fi. Were not bothered by noise at the back/side of the hotel, but sea view rooms are available at a supplement.

The room was clean with coffee and tea provided for a 2 night stay. There seemed to be a large amount of condensation on the window and water pooled on the ledge, the heater was adequate though. The shower was very good, with hot water and good spray, however we only got given two bath towels, no hand towels or a bath mat. So when leaving the shower it was a little slippery. Soap and shampoos were provided but no shower gel ( the dispenser was empty)

Staff very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Room Quirky in shape, great Seaviews. Hotel extremely cold in corridors and room. No bar or restaurant open, but breakfast good selection, choice of eggs and good friendly service. Great location, just need to warm the rooms!!

We booked last minute not knowing quite what to expect The location is really good with parking reasonably priced opposite the hotel. The hotel is a Victorian building which does not look that great but the inside is much better . We had a 1st floor room & it was quite spacious , clean & had everything you might need such as kettle , coffee , tea , ironing board & iron & TV . Only 2 pillows per bed was the only slight issue along with the loud music from the pub opposite. The hotel also has a bar & does evening food The buffet breakfast although basic included cereals , cheese & salami , fruit juices & of course a full English. The staff were polite & helpful and overall great value for money .

Stayed many times at this Seafront Hotel and it had always been basic but clean. The Buffet Breakfast, which is included in the price is basic but well cooked with various options, It is now under New Management and it is gradually becoming more Guest Friendly ! They have now opened the Bar in the evenings and are also providing a limited but good menu 👍🏼

Excellent hotel for the good value price and the staff are great. Buffet style breakfast with full English included and now they do evening meals too. All you need in one hotel for a great stay. Highly recommend. If needed they have accessible rooms for disabled folk.

The Shore View is a bit of a mixed bag: on the one hand, it's location is a good one right on Marine Parade with sea views and a short walk to the Victorian Pier, the Redoubt ruins, and the very lovely centre of Eastbourne with it's shops, amenities and restaurants. Tea-making facilities were available in rooms which was a bonus. And I must mention the staff present were exceptionally polite and reception was friendly and efficient. The hotel is also housed in a gorgeous historic Victorian building but with sadly now-faded glamour. It would take a lot of funds to return it to it's former glory and because of the upkeep it does appear the hotel is struggling with some other aspects of it's offering: the rooms are a decent size but quite dated, some of the linens could have been replaced as showing signs of wear, and - whilst appreciating the hot breakfast offer - the food was not of the best quality: cheaper-brand sausages and mushrooms that appeared to come from a can/tin, not freshly prepared. Coffee was instant, husband was NOT a fan, and customers had to ask for their bread which was handed to them from a tray behind the counter or toasted according to their wishes which took some time. It all felt a bit like necessary cut-backs to keep the place going... All in all, it was ok for a stopover for one night: our family of four had two doubles on the same floor, separated by a little corridor so fairly close together. The rooms were similar, one had a side-sea view but also faced the local pub which then went on to have a Saturday club-night keeping my husband and son awake for quite a while; my room had a larger bathroom but lacked any view which consisted of the back yard and bins of another building, the emptying of which elicited a loud conversation in the morning hours between what I presume were some of the neighbours (?), a shame. We also noted there was a lack of pillows in both rooms, only one flat pillow per person, which we found odd!

Building outdated. I read a terrible review about bed begs being reported so I checked the mattress as soon as I got into the room. Blood stains on the mattress, toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, bulbs in bathroom didn’t work. Complained and showed the receptionist the review I saw about bed bugs, he moved us. Second room had the same issue, blood stains! We instantly requested a refund and the receptionist said he had called the manager and that I had to wait for what could be 5 hours, I said I am not waiting until 11pm for a refund, he says “do you not know how to be safe if driving” Awful place. Dirty, outdated, smelly, rude. Just avoid in general. We left and it totally ruined our night away, we went straight home, 2 and a half hours away

3 Stars based on value. We paid about £65 per night in August. Could not expect more for the price. Room clean, staff helpful, breakfast ok. Great location, right on the seafront. Staff could not do anymore for you. If you are staying for a few nights and want value. This suits.

Very basic , but clean and specious rooms. This hotel is in a great location, but next to pub and very noisy at night till late. It needs an urgent upgrade. Looks like no regular maintenance at all over years. The restaurant staff are super nice. This hotel only suitable for short stay.
