Amazing First Hostel Experience – Highly Recommend! I had never stayed in a hostel before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect—but my stay at Generator Dublin completely exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and comforting. The dorms were clean and well-maintained, and I was especially impressed with how spotless the bathrooms and toilets were. They even provide hair dryers, which is such a thoughtful touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay—special shoutout to Alex, who was always kind and approachable. The vibe downstairs was super fun and lively. Even if you don’t have plans for the evening, there’s plenty to do right at the hostel—games, live music, and a party-like atmosphere that makes it easy to meet people and just enjoy the night. I was also lucky to have great dorm mates, which made the stay even more enjoyable. All in all, staying at Generator Dublin as my first hostel experience was truly memorable and amazing. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and social place to stay in Dublin.

Absolutely terrible the place was disgusting I couldn't stay more than 10 minutes it smelled like urine it was completely dirty and my "bed" looked like no one cleaned after the last person left. Mattress duvet everything used and even food crumbs on the bed just utterly disgusting and dreadful. I have stay in hostels before but this seem more like a crackhouse than an hostel

Strategic and friendly staff. I love it!!!

I stayed for 3 weeks at the generator. Hostel is very nice, each bed had 2 power points and a light which was great. I had a private ensuite in the room but the toilet broke twice and was actually one of the most difficult toilets to flush I have ever encountered. Other bathrooms available in the basement were dirty always. They also had renovations going while I stayed which made noise an issue some days. They had too many children staying who often ran around the bar area screaming which was highly unenjoyable. It had agood bar there but prices went up halfway through my stay. It has a good variety which food on offer was good and typical pub food. I wish they had a kitchen for guests to use, but there were many good food options around and several grocery stores too. They had event search night but I didn't partake in them and security worked the door during the night on weekends and often during the day. You could walk almost anywhere or the tram was a close walk also. Close to some great pubs such as the cobblestone. Generator is more of a party hostel than other places Ive stayed Is a recommend.

Honestly so disappointing. The shower drain clogs—disgusting. Bed outlets have no power. Ridiculously expensive for the price. 360hk per night!? People working there were all rude and seemed unhappy to be there.
