Had a great stay here, location is brilliant, close to the main attractions, and the vibes are good. It’s like moving into a garden for a couple days. Breakfast is delicious too. Would warmly recommend this to anyone visiting Dali.

Very good location and really helpful and friendly staff! I would go back anytime. Also delicious breakfast!
Response from Property: Old movies played in the lobby, faint music, lazy little cafes, craftsmen sitting on the ground, drum beats drifting in the wind, afternoon sunshine sprinkled all over Renmin Road, mottled paintings on the stone road, Dali is an old city with content and sedimentation. Jikuo Secret Garden has accompanied the past and transformation of the ancient city, always the same, listen carefully to the sound of rain, and wait for the flowers to bloom. The simple Bai auntie is enthusiastic in serving and hopes that your journey will be warmer. The garden full of flowers and plants accompanies the leisure time. This courtyard wraps your memory of this old city. The freshly made meals and tea are our thoughts for you. Thank you, dear Jikuo family, and look forward to your return again to learn more about this ancient city, look at old photos together, and talk about Dali ten years ago.

Wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is very centrally located in Dali Ancient city, but also quiet at night. If you take a taxi, it can drop you off about a 5 minute walk from the hotel, which is very convenient. The room and bathroom were very clean, and there was a view of the courtyard outside. Most importantly, the hotel staff were extremely friendly, making sure my stay was satisfactory and helping me with anything possible. I would definitely want to stay here again.

The service is excellent, especially from the ladies who treat you like friends. They’re always warm, greeting you and showing care.
The hotel’s location is great, offering a peaceful atmosphere away from the noise, yet still close to the ancient town.

The property is really charming with a beautiful courtyard! Booked a massive room which came with an equally massive bathroom - loved it! The location is very good, and very near a post office where I sent off some postcards. The bathroom could do with perhaps a mirror with light which will be really useful for ladies trying to do their make up! Otherwise I think it’s great value for money.
Response from Property: Old Dali has always been a town of dreams and longings. Before the new highway from Kunming and an airport with flights from major cities in China, it was a town for international back packers, Chinese wanderers and a free zone for artists, writers, musicians as well as for film and television actors, actresses and directors who wanted a reprieve from the competitive challenges of daily life in big cities. They came for the good weather , the mountains and clouds which surround Old Dali, and the views of the remarkable Erhai Lake which extends for miles. They also came for the camaraderie of old and new friends and the interaction with people of diverse social, cultural and economic backgrounds. The other draw was the lively and colorful Bai culture in nearby villages including Xi Zhou and Shuang Lang. Some Chinese bought or rented houses in Dali and nearby villages or arranged to stay in guest houses during vacations. Others stayed permanently to begin a new life. They opened guest houses, cafes and bars and an interesting music scene emerged. Once major newspapers in the US described Old Dali and its surroundings as a blend of the bohemian neighborhoods of San Francisco and the French Riviera. This analogy no longer completely applies, because today Old Dali is a major tourist attraction with numerous guest houses, restaurants , cafes , bars and shops. Nevertheless, it remains an oasis for young people who long for a life different from what big cities offer them, and it remains a free zone Chinese involved in the arts. JiKuo guest house is located in Old Dali close to East Gate and is at the center of tourist activities, but its impressive garden and rooftop with views of the mountains can provide a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the lively street life outside. There are rooms for dinners and private parties. Staff members can help arrange trips and give advice for what to see in Old Dali and its surrounding area.Everyone at JiKuo guest house thank you for your stay. We look forward to your return when we will have more opportunities to share our experiences . We wish you well.

We stayed in a room with skylight and it was beautiful in the evening. Not to worry about any bright sunlight, there's a sliding cover to block out the sun during the day.
Hot water is instant and the AC is capable of blowing hot air, wonderful in wintry December.
The room was cleaned every day.
Breakfast was simple but nevertheless nourishing and promptly served.
Location of the hotel is good, near to many eateries and it's within the old town.
Overall a good place to return to after a day of travel.

Best location, not noisy even in old town. I booked a star light room, unfortunately it has been raining for whole night.
It don't have lift, so you needs to walk up to your room.
Environment is very beautiful

Location is convenient to eateries. Reception staff are friendly. I would suggest they avoid watching videos or chatting when customers are at the front desk. I encountered resistance when I requested the use of laundry facility. Their courtyard sold the hotel to me.
Response from Property: Old movies playing in the hall, faint music, a lazy little cafe, craftsmen sitting on the floor, drum beats drifting in the wind, the afternoon sun shining all over Renmin Road, and mottled paintings on the stone pavement.
