Our stay at this place was good. Friendly staff and efficient service. I liked that it is in a very good spot, close to galle face mall and port city. Very easy to get around. I liked the lunch buffet also, pretty good sri lankan food.

Check-in was too slow. The room is damp, the quilt is damp, and there are a lot of mosquitoes at night

Not recommended at all, the hygiene is not good and the surrounding environment is not good!

The decoration in the hotel room is quite unique, and the attitude of the receptionist at the front desk is very good. The Japanese Hotel is located in downtown Colombo, and the location is great! Breakfast is not a buffet but a la carte.

The room was not bad, but the hotel is quite old. The bed sheets were changed at last minute when I asked for new ones. Service attitude is okay. It’s a bit far to eat nearby

What wonderful hotel, the locations is ideal for business or short term use . the staff and friendly and helpful. went for a short stay and had the privilege of meeting this the manager and the chef , who is working smart to caterer for all clients

Beautiful old hotel and centrally located with easy access to Fort. Shout out to Edward the doorman who was always welcoming and made your day just that much better. He was always a pleasure and extremely helpful. The food at the restaurant was good with lots of local options to choose from.

By far the worst hotel I’ve ever been. Only the lady and some young men in reception are people who you can talk to. The housekeeping is terrible, they don’t even clean the room properly , if you want clean sheets or towels, you will need to ask for them a few times ( both will be dirty by the way), same if you want to have your room vacuumed, they won’t do it until you talk in reception.(They are stealing food and tobacco from another guest’s rooms). Laundry is so good, that 3/4 of my clothes came back damaged Food is always the same, breakfast at least is decent. Lunch and dinner are awful The manager has lied to us about everything he has talked about, none of what he said has happened and we have been here for more than a month, so… I don’t recommend this hotel, even if you are going to stay just for one night, you have better options elsewhere.

Friendly desk staff and bellhop. Clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed and pillows. Clean sheets. No fridge. Shower has good flow and hot water. Updated bathroom. Good A/C. Has elevator. Good internet in this room on second floor. Breakfast was buffet. Only instant coffee. Walk 1 km to waterfront. Many tuk-tuks to drive you anywhere.

Service is really bad. Do not serve well for guests. Staff is not friendly at all. Management does not communicate properly. Do not refill the buffet when guests requires the items. Embarrass the guess to the maximum level. Over promise under deliver.

If there is one Childhood favourite that still serves the same - it's the food at the Nippon Cafe. Love Love all the savouries and sweets along with the service, quality and comfort of the Kafe. It's located in a central spot and my family and I can't wait to head back :)

Went to Sir Lanka with a bunch of friends, Alex and his team really took care of us. Super friendly staff, and a great little restaurant right there! Hope to see you again in 2025! Since it says I have to have 200 characters to write this review, I'll just have to say..... here you go!! ha ha

Worse hotel ever . Front office staff don’t know how to talk to people. Rude and arrogant. Their attitude is “ if you don’t want to stay go to hell. We are not here to assist you “. Noisy in the early morning from around 4 am. Loudspeakers every mornings near by. Can hear all the vehicles noises on the road at night.

Wonderful staff, so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and had good variety. They did their best to cater for gluten free too. I had a great time at Hotel Nippon, the satfd made it worth the visit. The room was very big and spacious, the bathroom was clean. Unfortunately their were a few little bugs in the room but they seem to be everywhere you go in general not just the hotel.
