Excellent
JJUNHotel location is good, 15 minutes drive to the University of Michigan, there is a mall around 1 km, there are restaurants, and supermarkets, where the noodle world and Mexican food are good, the front parking lot is free, the breakfast is simple American, can eat. The hotel is cleaned.
It was OK, but that's as far as I can go. Overall, what the place lacked was the warmth, cleanliness and welcome that one would expect. Our room was decent. It has a ”cooler” but no microwave. The bathroom sink is located outside of the tub/toilet area, which was nice. Adequate counter space. But the beds and pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. We did not get housekeeping services one day, and were left with dirty towels on the floor with no replacements, which we then asked for at the front desk. The fitness room was not cleaned as dirty towels were strewn about the floor and equipment. The complimentary coffee in lobby consisted of one caff and one decaf carafe, with 2 large pumps of Coffee Mate. (yuk!) The lobby cafe and bar was very overpriced ($26 for 3 medium coffees and $50 for 2 drinks!). We entertained some family in the lounge area, and had asked for the fireplace to be turned on to take the chill off the room and add some ambiance. We were told that the fireplace hasn't worked for 3 years! The lounge area had dirty cups and napkins and crumbs on the furniture and tables, which we cleaned up before we could sit down.
KKAIThe hotel does not provide free breakfast, which needs to be paid at your own expense, but after contacting Ctrip customer service, Ctrip will return the breakfast fee at your own expense after check-out. However, I still feel a little deceived in my heart, with some regrets.
I expected much better when I first walked into the Kensington Hotel in Ann Arbor, but I was completely wrong. We paid over $600 for a room, only to find bugs crawling all over the floors and ceilings, pee on the toilet seat, and black mold growing from the windows. It was disgusting. Also, to make matters worse the toilet would run constantly. I took photos for the staff to see and understand but they only turned their heads. The service made it even worse. Katie, one of the managers, treated us horribly and made us feel like we were crazy for bringing up these issues. We repeatedly asked for basic amenities like soap for the shower, and never got any. When we requested to switch rooms because of the state of ours, we were told nothing was available. How can they overbook rooms like this when there are serious health issues in some of them? To top it off, this wasn’t even during a busy football game weekend—we were here for a wedding. I understand the hotel might get busier during game weekends, but that doesn’t excuse the poor quality of the room or the terrible service we experienced. The only positive note was June and Cade at the front desk, who were polite and helpful. Unfortunately, every other encounter we had was awful. I would never stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.
IIpOvernight stay because of delivery to Michigan, price was good and close to where I was going. Nice surprise because of how well this establishment is maintained, everything was in really good shape except maybe a slightly noisy ac unit. Breakfast had all the basics eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels and bread, really impressed and would stay here again for my future trips to MI.
FFEIYUEThe air conditioning sound is too loud. Most American hotels are cabinet air conditioners. They are placed on the floor below the window and the sound is too loud. Parking is also available for a fee. Close to Northwestern University, the environment is good
GGuest UserVery good value for money, um, but the price is so low you better not report anything that exceeds the budget expectations
There is a certain smell and that small NPC type dumpling, the one that can't move on the wall
The jacuzzi is very good
SspecklesNice grounds. Lots of grass close by for dog walking. Lots of gas stations and fast food places within walking distance. 2 supermarkets a Panera and a Starbucks. Usual Redroof set up. Hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Good wifi. Pretty well maintained except fir the ceiling of the walkway in front of the rooms. That needs attention. Clean room. Very competent staff.
