The international five-star standard, the waiters are each warm and polite, the English standard, the traditional dance and singing are welcome and welcome guests, very pleasant surprise! The rooms are nice, reasonably designed, big enough, and comfortable. The hotel is one hour away from Colombo and the traffic is convenient. There are many entertainment activities, you can play billiards, play giant chess, table football, these are free of charge, and water sports and archery should be charged, not experienced. He was also sung by foreigners and sang karaoke, only English songs. The hotel itself is beautiful and large, like a large park with the sea on one side and the lake on the other. The garden view room we booked was upgraded to pool view. This is very bad and very noisy! Did not sleep well for two days! In the morning, the crows are meeting! In the afternoon, there are all kinds of chair pulling sounds, and in the evening it is even more terrible. Crows of crows gather by the pool and take a bath in the pool! If you want to live, it is best to book a sea view room! There is also a swimming pool over there. The sea water is very good, but it is also very wavy. In the evening, go for a stroll to the beach to see the sunset is beautiful. This is a hotel that should return.

Even though it is more then 20 years old it is still o'kay and is currently being updated and renovated.
Back when it first opened ,it was probably the best resort in all of Sri Lanka!!
Quiet location ,a bit out of town ,but easy to get a Tuk Tuk to get around.
it is about 2 hours by bus from Colombo ,or probably quicker by train ........ but not as much fun!
Staff where freindly and helpful if needed.

GGuest UserInitial experience wasn’t great at check-in, as the staff wasn’t giving accurate information about dinner prices, and wasn’t very friendly. There were also a few issues in the room. But the front desk was able to coordinate with their internal house keeping and engineering team to solve the problems. We were happy with their services in the end.

We booked a room with 2 double beds (alternatively 2 single bed) for a higher price because that's what we wanted - when we checked in, we were given a room with 1 double bed. Unfortunately the bed couldn't be spitted and no other room was available (which we highly doubted, as we were one of the early one's checking in that day).
We received a very soft co-sleeper bed...
The first night, we went to bed quite early as we were exhausted from the day. Suddenly, there was banging on the door - up to 10 times - before I was awake enough to open the door to 2 service guys from the hotel, giving me some cut fruits and 4 pralines - at 10:30pm!? I was totally confused by the time and behaviour...
Also the personnel wasn't of great help when asked regarding directions, post office, or else...
We just didn't like the experience we had in this hotel.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a beautiful location. Only one hotel employee took care of all hotel tasks, and he was nice. We booked 3 nights. Instead of the room we booked, we were given a different room for the first two days. The air conditioning was broken and very hot. Through the large window, all the pedestrians outside could see us. The large window had no curtain. The room was not that nice, tidy, or clean. The room we had booked had been rented out to another guest.
We got the room we had booked on the last day. The room with a sea view was nice, and the air conditioning worked.
We had a very good breakfast! European and Sri Lankan dishes.

GGuest UserHotel is modern , fresh , well maintained . Perfect for a relaxing vacation with gym , excellent long pool , yoga , sports area . Access to the beach is private and peaceful. Food spread was lavish Nd tasty . Staff is very friendly Nd goes out of the way to help you . We enjoyed the wide spread of food for new years gala dinner . Bar has good choice of liquor. You can take a tuktuk from hotel lobby roam around to see local life . Go to kalatura rich look store or others for cheap but good quality daily wear clothes . Beach is little rough . Spending 5 nights with hotel was relaxing then we moved to bentota to enjoy the beach which is smooth Nd one of the best I have come across travelling world around . Special thank to Tusharri to ensure we had the best stay Nd the personal touch she provided and Mr Prasad Wijesyriya for maintaining the hotel so well . You can always see them around with a smile and ensuring all guests are happy checking on them . Key feature is the long swimming pool . We are staying at Taj bentota now but we found citrus much better with pool , rooms and pricing for quality .

GGuest UserThe experience was very bad. I booked the hotel early, but when I arrived at the local hotel, I was told that there was no reservation information. A large group of people were waiting at the front desk. It was very bad. The entire communication was back and forth between three parties. What’s even more outrageous is that one of the bookings has no room. I never thought that a platform as big as Ctrip would make this mistake. Beruwala is hot this season and mosquitoes bite in the evening. The final solution is also terrible. I have never dared to do so again. Booked an overseas hotel on Ctrip.
