When I made the reservation, I wrote in the notes section that I would like a non-smoking room, but unfortunately the hotel had a smoking room that day.
When I asked the hotel counter, I was told that you cannot choose between non-smoking and smoking rooms on the reservation site.
I heard from various reservation sites that the hotel is booked so much that on days when there are a lot of reservations, you won't be able to choose a room.
So, what I am sure about is that when I made the reservation online, I heard that I needed to call the hotel directly to confirm whether they had a reservation for a non-smoking room.
However, even if I called, I was told that there may not be any non-smoking rooms available.
The hotel is clean and tidy. It is seven minutes away from the subway. Overall it is very convenient. I stayed there for five days at a time. There is a washing machine. Next to it is Don Quixote, and there are a lot of places to eat. The only thing that needs improvement is that the room is too stuffy and it gets very hot no matter how you adjust the heating. Everything else is good.
Location: It is a distance from Sendai Station, and you need to take a bus. Relatively speaking, it is still very convenient. There is a busy commercial street a distance away. It is convenient for eating and shopping.
Facilities: The laundry room only has two washing machines and two drying machines. Because it takes 30+30 minutes or more to use it once, you need to find the right time to avoid queuing.
The room is well-equipped with a hair dryer, a small bathtub, a desk, a refrigerator, and even a microwave.
Service: I don’t know. I have seen the front desk except for chkin out. I didn’t ask for room cleaning. There was a reminder not to put valuables, so I simply didn’t want the service.
Hygiene: The room is quite clean, but the bathroom is integrated, which will have a peculiar smell. Just close the door. If you are not used to it, there is also a sterilization aromatherapy spray in the room. Just spray it twice.
Why write a review: This room is the first one I grabbed. It’s only about 100 yuan a night, and the discount is very large. Whether to stay at the original price depends on personal preference.

My wife and I have traveled to Japan many times and stayed at the Richmond Hotel for the first time. After staying for six days and five nights, we decided that we would choose this brand first wherever we go in Japan! Let me share with you the following points:
1. It is very close to the station. You can reach the door within five minutes of walking with your suitcase after exiting the station. There is a FamilyMart convenience store next to the first floor. I really like the simple and elegant feeling of the entrance on the first floor of the hotel.
2. We booked a double room, which was of medium size. The room equipment was well maintained. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. When we walked out of the elevator, we felt the air quality was good. The entire corridor to the outside of the room door also felt very comfortable.
3. We lingered over breakfast and midnight snacks. The food was delicious and the service staff made us feel at home. We sincerely thank them.
4. The cleaning service staff will not make people feel intrusive, and they will have a good attitude when meeting people in the corridor, and will not make people feel uneasy (I personally attach great importance to this)
Perhaps the best hotel throughout my Tokyo - Tohoku trip. Comparatively spacious, staff speaks English well, the onsen spa is very affordable for guests, walking distance from Sendai station, hotel has unique 18th century European design, comfortable beds, good amenities. Only thing is that the onsen spa does not permit guests with tattoo, which can pose a bit of a problem in light of the free and open society nowadays. Perhaps the hotel can limit it to restricting only guests with ”tattoo sleeves” or something. Small cute little tattoos all over the body do not necessarily create a negative perception. I have 3 small tattoos on my body and I still went to the onsen nonetheless during non-peak hours, just to be respectful (I was all alone and would have left if it created discomfort for other guests). But love the hotel overall. Highly recommended.
The hotel is modern and the room is larger by Japanese standard. As practised by most hotels, amenities like toothbrushes and tea bags can be taken from the reception counter. The hotel has thoughtfully provided small plastic bags for customers to bag the amenities though I see this as counter to their green efforts.
There is a laundry room, but the wash may not be thorough as my clothes did not come out smelling fresh.
There were no non-smoking rooms available when I booked so there's nothing I can do. The corridor on level 9 do have the smell of stale cigarette smoke but inside the room is fine.
The air purifier in the room isn't working well exactly but overall the room facilities are still decent. I had a comfortable stay of four nights.

We use it when there are events. I am satisfied with both the service and facilities, but I was disappointed with the bath this time due to the construction of the bath.
I think about it every time, but Kawara-no-Yu is an elegant bath with a beautiful view, but when you arrive at it after walking down a long hallway, it's full and you can't get in, so you end up having to go back again. We would like to provide a service that allows us to check the current situation.
This hotel, Dongheng, not expensive, the room is not big, but feels at ease, intimate, walking seven or eight minutes from the station, very convenient, breakfast is not rich but enough, very good.
The hotel is located in the heart of Sendai, a few minutes from Sendai Station. The waiter has a good attitude and the details are better. The shortcoming is that the sound insulation of the room is too bad. Some people in the corridor can speak clearly. The noise outside the hotel can also be heard. The shading of the curtains is not good. The air conditioner lights are too bright and do not sleep well at night.

AAmanda ChngIt's my 2nd stay here in this hotel, and I love it. Nice room layout, ample space for a solo occupant, comfy bed, and pillows. I like the bit where i can open window slight ajar for ventilation. A little corner to lounge, sip my morning coffee, and watch the street bustle below. Good amenities are provided, and service staffs were polite and helpful.
IISsey MiYakeI love this hotel so much.
Room is super spacious and love the scent of this hotel once you step into this hotel.
Walking distance to many places such as Sendai Morning Market , donki donki, Japanese local restaurants and Sendai Station ( a bit far )
If you didn’t book breakfast here is fine too, there are some restaurant nearby early in the morning for English Breakfast or to go.
We drove our car here , however you need to pay JPY 1500 per day to park your car.
Reception is at 26th floor so once you park your car you need to take lift to lobby and from lobby take another lift to reception check in.
だだらだら旅行大好きちゃんI am very grateful for the courteous service from check-in to check-out. The coin laundry machines for men and women in the large public bath were very convenient, and I was very grateful to be able to use the dryer while taking a bath. There were also many amenities available, making it a wonderful stay.
AAnonymous UserHotel is approx 5 mins walk from Sendai station. Follow west exit. My single room is a bit small but spacious enough for a solo. Room was clean and linen crisp. 1 bottle of water provided each day. Onsen is small with one outdoor. Over my 2-day stay at most I bumped into another person in the onsen. 2 washers and dryers in the onsen facility. Wash is free (30 mins standard) but dryer is charged 100 yen for 20 mins which is enough to 80% dry a small load. Night ramen was delicious and I appreciate the ice cream and Yakult at the onsen. Family mart is 20 steps away. Didn’t try the breakfast. And it’s actually very near the Miyakoh highway bus centre.
KKIYO24The last day of a week-long trip. I stayed here as a night before returning to Kansai Airport from Sendai. The luxury conditions were excellent. Since it was a capsule hotel, the only thing that bothered me was that the ceiling was a little low, but the Wi-Fi worked well in the room and there was a TV that was about 40 inches. →Compared to the capsule hotels of my student days, it felt like a new world...‼️
For those who like manga, there is a small manga cafe and a large amount of manga to read for free☆彡
PPiyadaThe staff were quite attentive to the requests that we were asked to do so at the front desk such as receiving our luggage in our stead when it was delivered and there were many kinds of amenities to the personal choice of the guests.
AAzmalAt Breakfast buffet they serve food with all the allergy ingredients but it was not at all clearly mentioned if it has pork or beef or chicken.
Example : there was a potato salad where it says they do not have pork in it but found out that they put pork sausage inside them while eating and they will will let you know after you ask them.
If they would have mentioned clearly it would be better to reconsider when you have allergy issues.
I feel that was poorly organized.
Please be careful with the allergy issues before eating during the breakfast and ask them in details about the ingredients if you feel confused.
GGustavo TozzoIn complete contrast to my previous night at a different city, coming to this hotel was a total change.
Friendly desk staff, helpful and accommodating. Well informed and willing to help.
The room was small but enough for one night. The bed was really comfortable as well.
The hotel has a Hot Bad that accommodates 4~6 people at once.
Really wonderful being able to take a very hot bad at such large place.
and all at no extra charge.
Only thing bad I have to say about the place is there was this smell of ”fresh” paint all throughout.
Bothered me a bit, but it was easy to put up with.
I will be staying again in October and look forward to it.
Unfortunately I took no photos. Will do so next time.
GGustavo TozzoThe hotel was simple, and the front staff were very friendly, and though the room was clean, it was one of the smallest I have stayed at. It seems to be quite an old hotel, but it’s nicely kept and the location is really good. Several convenience stores close by, and the Sendai station is also an walking distance. The lack of amenities was a disappointment, and during a pouring rain there were no umbrellas available, which was a downer.
Having said that, I would not hesitate to stay again at this hotel if it’s available during my trip (I do travel to Sendai regularly)
Sorry I didn’t take photos… I was quite busy during my stay…
