You can live on the edge at the Premier Inn Hotel Durham East. That's because we're conveniently positioned on the city's outskirts - just seven minutes from the station by taxi, and right on the doorstep for business at the Belmont, Peterlee and Dragonville industrial estates. But tapping into Durham's cultural heart is every bit as easy, whether you're making for its historic Cathedral and Castle, or famous University. Take your pick from the city's countless events, before taking it easy at the Table Table restaurant and a blissful night in the comfiest of beds.
A great stay. Staff were lovely and super helpful. A problem with my room meant i had to switch, but staff addressed this as soon as possible. Pool was an added bonus as were the sauna and steam room. Will def stay there again when visiting Durham.

Beautiful location, I attended a friend's birthday party best service was received at the buffet restaurant in the evening and again in the morning by a younger blonde eastern European woman, she went so out of her way to help me both times, I wish I had asked her name. The buffet breakfast had everything you could possibly want, well worth the $17 cost.. I booked the Coleman Suite and it was beyond amazing, but the basic rooms some of my friends had seemed overpriced.. I should have used to pool, sauna and other amenities but there was no time with the party, I would recommend staying for at least 2 days next time. Wonderful stay, just too short.
The hotel is very quiet, the room facilities are complete, clean, the transportation is convenient, and the front desk is warm and hospitable. The bar is very lively at night, locals are chatting, the atmosphere is very good
Spacious room, nice kitchenette and basic accommodation. The room was a little tired and smelled a bit musty, but very clean and I slept well. Check-in was straight forward enough at the bar and very nice bar staff member. Several buses can be caught very nearby and it’s around 10 minutes into town (£2 single or £4 day pass). I would stay again :)
Food was lovely , clean well kept rooms not so great on checkout when the receptionist did not recognise trip . Com and advised we hadn’t paid despite us showing her confirmation of pre payment
The hotel is great, it is recommended, not far from the attractions, convenient to travel, quiet in the noisy, very ideal. The facilities are a bit old, but the style is unique, a bit antique, and the rooms are clean and tidy. In general, the hotel has to be booked new.
It is very suitable for family outings, with a convenient location in the city center. There are many restaurants around, and you can explore the entire city on foot. It will definitely be one of the first choices if you never go there again.
Wonderful hotel! The location was perfect for visiting the city, just a hop over the bridge to get to the centre.
The room was really spacious with a large bed, sofa and coffee table, desk, and plenty of room in between. There was a kettle and tea/instant coffee as well as a Nespresso machine, and a mini fridge, which came in very handy for cooling drinks. The bathroom was clean and had a good layout with a shower screen over the tub (no spills!) and plenty of soap holders. There was also lush This Works shampoo and conditioner and really nice shower gel. It felt much more luxurious than we expected - even providing bath robes and slippers.
We had a second floor room with a cathedral view (we could hear the bells!), overlooking the road outside. Traffic calmed down at night and did not disturb our sleep, and the hotel was quiet overall.
The room had been cleaned well, but there were slight oversights: the front of the desk and coffee maker handle, for example, showed historic spills; the window (with modern additional pane to create double glazing) had other guests' forehead- and nose prints on them (we discovered ourselves how easy it is to be taken in by the view, lean forward, and forget that there's a window there...), but the bathroom, bed, and floors were absolutely hygienic and we felt comfortable nevertheless.
Staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!
