It's not in the city center, but it's only a few minutes' walk away. One of the important reasons for choosing it is that it has a parking lot for easy parking. The hotel is quaint and was renovated from an old house. The corridors are full of artworks. It seems to be the property of an Argentinian artist owner. . It's because of the old house, so the room is relatively small.

Our group stayed one night en route to Derby. We were all very happy with our rooms and had a comfortable night. The staff went out of their way to store the bike boxes for us to .pick up a week later when we left Launceston. We had the downstairs twin room which had a king and a single bed and was larger than the queen rooms. All rooms had views of the city, and refurbished bathrooms. Thanks to the staff at Areca for our enjoyable stay.

Had two nights at the Hideaway - check in was friendly and helpful with local knowledge Location is great - easy walk to the CBD and lots of dining options The loft room was very nice and comfortable - shower very compact though The downside is lugging your suitcases up a staircase to get to your door

STAY HERE!! Location / price / view / service / awesomeness!!! THE OWNER Lets start here! Tim, who is the owner and lives local is sensational and really makes the stay absolutely awesome!!! He has a yarn with all the guests at breakfast (which was included) and makes the effort to ask questions and get to know the guest :) wow - what a difference this makes to a stay! I never realised it until I met Tim - what I also loved was that you can tell he has REAL PRIDE in his business as he talks excitedly about the upgrades he is going through and this excitement for the business flows on to the staff that work for him who were all lovely, happy, friendly and helpful 1. I was upgraded upon checkin - my room was awesome! Top level great views! 2. I had a late checkout which was great as I had a late flight 3. Help with info on where to go and what to see - specifically Tim saying to come down and see him daily if I needed help on where to go 4. Shuttle service to airport help 5. Had an early check in at 12pm - Tim accomodated me as I had an early flight Tim even helped to organise the airport shuttle for me and called them up to secure a good price 😀 what service!! If only all owners took a page out of Tims book THE ROOM Wow! Loved it! Nice, clean with awesome views!! I was lucky to get upgraded and had top floor views over Launceston town and I couldnt wait to head back to the room after a day of exploring The bed was soooooooooooo comfortable and the BEST pillows ive ever experienced - I hope I can find 1 to buy for myself! So good! The shower… hello! What great pressure and hot water is fantastic! Mini fridge and microwave with cutlery if you want to have your own meals (which I did) so was perfect for me and one of main reasons I chose this accom BREAKFAST Amazingggggg fresh fruit!!! Chopped fruit around 8 options - this was the best part for me! Also choices of cereals and juices Toast - white / brown / raisin with jams honey peanut butters Black Coffee You can also upgrade and pay for a hot breakfast If you need parking there is free on the property Lift is quick and easy to use Bags kept at reception safe and sound when needed I have nothing negative to say at all about this accom but they have set the bar high in customer service for me Thanks Tim! Lovely to meet you and thanks for the awesome stay 😀 will be recommending Balmoral on York to all I know

This must be the only hotel in Australia that charges more to book direct than through a 3rd party. I stayed twice because of the location, once through Air BnB and once directly. The Air BnB offer seems to be a sublease through a guy who rarely responds to messages and the front desk don't deal with his bookings. I tried to extend my first visit but he wouldn't respond so I just left. The 2nd stay I thought may be better booking direct but they wanted to change me more $16 than online. They honoured booking.com's price when challenged but this seems very poor practise. The staff were kind and the room was clean but I wouldn't be bothered again.

The location is very good, it is very convenient to go shopping, there are supermarkets and Asian Super League nearby. The staff at the counter was very nice and friendly, and introduced us to nearby restaurants and attractions. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable.

Austere on the outside, not easy to spot from the road, and harder still to penetrate, Change Overnight nevertheless offers a rewarding stay. With codes for access and no staff on site, just a manager on call, your stay will be an impersonal one. But the apartment is spacious, clean and modern, with every appliance you could need for a medium-term stay. The kitchen includes instruction booklets for all the devices, save unfortunately the washing machine which operates to protocols all its own. A minor inconvenience is the fact that bedroom and bathroom are upstairs, which will prove a problem if you have heavy suitcases. Garage parking is tight but reassuringly secure. Slept well, both floors air-conditioned.

As a solo traveller just spending one night in Launceston, The Star Hotel was the ideal choice. It is centrally located and street parking was easy to find and free between 17.30 and 09.00 next day. The room itself was compact but comfortable with an ensuite. The friendly, efficient female staff member was able to help with local advice and when I decided to have dinner later, the food and service were exceptional. Three see a couple of stair cases to negotiate but really no trouble. This place was a highlight of my travel in Tasmania.

Very nice staff and it is clean and comfortable. Every time when we come back, we can feel very relaxed. Outside is cold but our place is warm and we can have very relaxing hot shower.
There is free internet and there are many T V channels and movies to see. I can keep in touch with my family overseas. Kids and I can enjoy movies together.
The location is very good. It is in the city and very convenient to take public transport or visit tourist information centre to join tours. There are lots of warehouses, department stores, shops, cafe or restaurants around. I recommend anyone to stay at Launceston Central Apartment Hotel.

1. A very cute and Modern room, beautifully decorated, exactly like the photos.
2. The hosts are very friendly; it's basically their home, with only two rooms available for guests. If you’re lucky, you might encounter their grandchildren swimming and playing, hearing their laughter.
3. The room's amenities are quite high quality, and the space is ample.
4. Breakfast is provided early in the room, including bread, various types of jams and butter, milk, orange juice, and a variety of cereal options. Tea bags are also available.
5. There’s a free washing machine and laundry powder, but no dryer.
6. The location is within a 20-minute drive from Launceston.
7. If you want a quiet and comfortable space, this is a great choice.
GGuest UserCar park is ground floor; check-in is 1st floor, but easily accessible via stairs and lifts. Free car parking outside; small charge for undercover parking. Reception was perfect - I arrived early and was offered a room immediately or a short wait for an upgraded room. Rooms are large, warm, comfortable, and stylish. The cafe and restaurant are very busy and Grain restaurant food is delicious. Highly recommended.
GGuest UserI had to overnight in Launceston, leaving early the next morning. Thought the Pod Inn proved just about perfect for my needs, starting with the very reasonable tariff. It was my first stay in a pod and possibly won't be my last, though I think staying more than two days would test the friendship. My sleep quality was great but I could imagine things could get a bit claustrophobic after a couple of nights. Otherwise, check-in was good, everything well explained. Pod itself was lockable, comfy, roomy for one and I loved the lighting options. Noise wasn't a problem, though maybe I was lucky on that count. The kitchen was clean if a little small while the common room/dining area more spacious. Common bathroom was clean when I visited but could imagine it becoming pretty grungy. The showers were really good, though. Towels supplied but not soap (or shampoo etc).

GGuest UserA stay at Country Club Tasmania ticks nearly all the boxes. A quality championship golf course at your back door is a plus and the variety of dining options will delight most. Rooms are good and clean with many of the rooms recently refurbished. A stay at this property offers value for money.
GGuest UserWe stayed here in September 2022 and just loved our visit. The hotel was exceptionally vibrant, clean, modern, well located and had brilliant service. The rooms are very comfortable with big areas around beds with room to move and put belongings and the bathrooms were very clean and modern. The staff were always helpful and friendly and the hotel was very well located within easy walking distance of downtown areas. We especially loved the beautiful foyer area and accessible bar and restaurant areas. Would definitely recommend.

Rrosey55This is an older motel that has been renovated and now calls itself a hotel. Launceston is very hilly with some hills quite steep. This hotel was towards the top of one of these steep hills. There are three wings with carparking inbetween each wing. The wing closest to the road has two levels. There is a lift between these levels but the other wings are higher than the top level of the front wing. So if you miss out on a parking spot and have to park on the road you could have to lug your luggage up the road, up a handful of steps to reception, into the lift then out of that front wing up more steps to a room in the rear wing. The driveway up from the road to parking in front of the rear wing is seriously steep. We were on the top level of the front wing nearest the roundabout. Didn't hear much road noise. The room was not decorated to my tastes. Large format concrete-look tiles on the floor and walls of the bathroom with a feature wall of glossy black tiles. There was a large step up to raised shower recess. Here there was a dip down to the water outlet. Not good for those with mobility and balance issues. King double bed was a bit soft for my liking. Silly hanging section in wardrobe. Rail ran front to back making it difficult to get coats and so on in and out. The lovely park over the road and close proximity to city centre are saving graces. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

Very Good
Very minimal, shabby rooms of doubtful cleanliness, at maximal expense. Explicitly states that no service is offered, so to that extent at least the management is honest! But if you are staying two nights or more, you only get one night's worth of tea/coffee/milk/towels etc, even though you are paying for these items in the room charge. We had booked and paid for two rooms, but when I arrived the receptionist rudely said I could not check in 'because I did not have the same name as the person who booked', and I would jolly well have to wait until the person who booked arrived. (Actually, the person who booked was my daughter-in-law.) This is an extremely rude, discriminatory, and just plain stupid thing to say. For example, a husband and wife could have different names, and arrive separately. Also, I arrived at 3 pm, but what if my daughter-in-law arrived at 10 pm? The polite thing to do would be for the receptionist simply to ask if she could have a word with my daughter-in-law on the phone, or see a text message. Another point: the rudest, most aggressive utterance in the 'hospitality' industry is 'Can I help you?' spoken loudly through gritted teeth and rictus smile. The receptionist really ought to book a course at charm school. If - despite all - you are thinking of staying here, keep in mind that it is a very steep, long walk down to the city centre - and back up. The Coach House is not suitable for children, as the upper storey concrete walkways and steps are extremely dangerous for toddlers.

GGuest UserIt is a motel type. I booked a hotel randomly because I had to fly out the next morning. The hotel is relatively old and has few facilities, but it has a basic refrigerator and hair dryer.
The location is in the center of the city. There are many coffee shops and restaurants around. It is less than 20 minutes' drive from the airport, so it is very convenient for traveling and eating. As a transit hotel, it can meet the needs.
We booked a quadruple room because of the large number of people. The room is large enough and suitable for families traveling with children.

GGuest UserI would like to give the reception staff Lisa and Karen 10 out of 10 for wonderful service. I was trying to get a bed for one night and rang the hotel as I'd booked on what I thought was their website - I'd booked the wrong night and couldn't change it. Lisa was the lady I spoke to and she very kindly sorted it for me in such a lovely manner. Then when I arrived Karen was on reception and the welcome was warm and friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Personality plus, what an asset! The room was on the small side but comfortable, spotless and had a fabulous view of the city. It is also within walking distance of two theatres, bars and restaurants. A genuine pleasure to stay here, thank you ladies.

GGuest UserIt’s is a beautiful hotel! It’s clean and has a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home. Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. Environment was pleasant and welcoming. The staff was the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel. They were always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time walked in the door.
