I was charged 139 dollars instead of 69 dollars as per the invoice issued by trip.com. Apparently they were doing this to other customers too. The manager on duty was rude. Told me to check in in these terms or would not check me in. TV did not work. Bathroom had broken soap dispenser.

I was to pay 117 at check in per room. Hotel made me par 285 for something I didn’t have time to use which was tickets to attractions and that fee included a fee for checking out. ..49 a room for coupons snd 65 per room check out fee. Our car was too tall for the 85.00 a night parking but the garage at the corner only charged 58.00 a night. I wouldn’t recommend driving downtown Chicago unless you like being stressed out. I’m asking trip.com to reimburse the difference between the 117 and 185.

Was quite a shock to check in and be charged $125/room/night above the advertised pre paid price. For us that added $500 to our stay. The benefits did not add up.

The reception was very nice. The Filipino staff helped me and provided more information.
The service was good and the staff had a great service mindset.

I’m not very happy that I payed an amount online to book the hotel, then got charged an extra $70 + $120 deposit once I arrived at the hotel.
I was not able to pay that and the hotel denied my cancellation request.
Will not be using Trips.com or The hotel collection again.

Makes zero sense to have the business model that this hotel has. It doesn’t need to! It’s in a great location and the property is nice enough that people would pay what they end up charging AFTER adding a bunch of unadvertised charges. After booking with trip.com, my confirmation email stated that I was still on the hook for $69 to the hotel when checking in. The hotel charged me an additional $140 ($70 more than what was stated). I thought that maybe this was a trip.com issue. Quickly realized that it I was not as literally every single guest that checked in before me and after had the same issue. In fact an additional $70 was on the low end from what other guests were complaining about. I heard multiple other booking companies mentioned as well…Expedia, **********, ***********, and others. The common denominator is the hotel. I actually felt bad for the gal that checked me in. It was obvious that she deals with it almost 100% of the time with every guest that checks in. The manager however was completely unprofessional and has no business being employed in the service industry. I did ask her, “is this just a coincidence that EVERY SINGLE GUEST is complaining about the exact same issue?” She did not seem to have rationale answer.
Trip.com has said that they will credit my card the $70. Hoping that they make this right.

I was told when I booked the hotel through trip.com that I would have to pay $69 when I got to hotel I already paid $143. When I got to that hotel they told me that they did not honor what trip.com put as me Oweing $69 that I would have to pay another $139 double what I was told that I had to pay to hotel when I got there. Very misleading. Did not see the point of even looking through trip.com I ended up paying full price for the room just as if I would have booked directly to the hotel.

Don't book this as you will end up paying $80 as additional fees while checking in the hotel.
When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed by the front desk that I would need to pay $150 for a mandatory guest package that includes breakfast and drinks which I did not want as I needed to vacate the room at 4 AM to catch my early morning flight.I was surprised to hear this, as nowhere on the Trip.com booking page or during the reservation process was this additional fee of $150 mentioned which I was expecting. Had I been aware of this, I would have taken it into consideration when making my reservation.

The hotel was fine, but the hidden fees upon arrival was a shock and a deal breaker in ever going back there again. I paid $58 to reserve and was supposed to pay $89 for the rest. That turned into $131 for a mandatory breakfast and gratuities package even thin we had no plans of eating there at all. Also, $125 extra that will be held on the card for seven days (hopefully). I felt scammed as this wasn't mentioned in the initial cost.

High quality location for its budget close to the Magnificent Mile (an area far from its glorious days notwithstanding). Great shout out to Matthew for going the extra mile to help. The only thing to be mindful of is the deposit policy. Do read the fine print before you book.

There was a price discrepancy between what Trip.com posted of what I should pay at check-in and what the hotel actually charged me. I was finally able to check in after an hour of frustration, and Trip.com was able to reimburse me the difference.
