Very nice and clean, the location is good, near the temples and the Sunday market  

A great little hotel to stay that’s in a central location to the Sunday market walking street! Hotel was clean and we noticed a cute theme of the hobbit throughout the hotel. We did not use many of the amenities but there is an outdoor pool when you first walk into the hotel and a small restaurant on the side. The staff were super friendly, they checked us in earlier than check in time and they went out of their way to prepare our take away breakfast when we had to depart early for our elephant sanctuary trip. Our only negative was the street the hotel is on was quite loud at night, the neighbouring store had a small party that went on until the middle on the night and it could be heard quite loudly from our room. Perhaps asking the hotel for a different room, facing away from the street would be good.

The hotel is nice, just that location is a bit remote but you could book grab taxi. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel also located within 5 minutes walk to Wat Prasat, which is a small but nice temple.

Amazing cute little place with so much character been twice and will go back again, amenities are very high quality for such a small place.

Cozy Hotel with friendly and always smiling staffs. Should there be a minus, it should be the water pressure to shower and the blanket cover seems abit yellowish. Otherwise, the hotel is really good for quiet getaway, outside but near the busy streets

This is a tricky hotel to review. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful, and we loved the (cold, be warned!) pool. The bed is incredibly hard, so be aware of that. We actually found we slept our best sleep of all our Thai travels here though. Beyond that, this hotel is themed. We booked it thinking it looked cute and a bit like medieval Europe, but it turns out it’s themed around The Hobbit. Don’t let that sway you particularly in either direction though- you can lean in if you love The Hobbit, or ignore it and pretend your room isn’t called Dwalin, which is pretty much the main evidence of the theme.

Not suitable for business but great for local traveler near Sunday walking street and middle of old town. Great staff and full of amenities.

We loved the Charcoa hotel. It looks exactly like the pictures, a very charming beamed building in the heart of the Old Town. It’s a 2 minute walk from some really cool cafes and bars and has a convenient little shop just across the road. The pool area is fantastic and the staff were very attentive. We enjoyed poolside drinks at sunset and were impressed when the staff came and brought us mosquito spray as it started getting dark. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side but certainly enough room for two people and the hotel surprised us with rose petals on the bed and a card to celebrate our anniversary which made it very special. Reviews are correct in saying the shower pressure isn’t great and it does take a while to get warm, but we managed just fine. The mattress was incredibly firm and the bed frame sounded like it could collapse at any moment - but it didn’t! There are also posters of characters from the movie The Hobbit in the room which was a little strange; and signs warning about fines which detract from the architectural beauty of the building. When you enter the room, there is a big list of fines you could receive for damaging property and warnings about everything from eating durian to flushing sanitary products, but I suppose it is a beautiful building they want to protect. Despite this, it’s a beautiful place and a really enjoyable stay. All in all, I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Very nice place, but the bath equipment was flooding while took the shower.

Love the pool and it’s great for young kids. Staff were friendly.

Lovely hotel, great location. Lovely atmosphere. We had a small room but it was fine. If you go, be sure to ask the reception for the WiFi password which doesn’t stop working every 24 hours and only work on one device.
