Have to correct a wrong from an earlier review. This hotel is in my opinion one of the best 3 star hotels in Spain. We as a family of 4 are used to always trying out different hotels 4 star/3 star throughout spain but we are always drawn back to the Son Baulo. Hotel basic but very clean and homely. Staff are a credit to their employers and you can tell they are very dedicated and professional in their duties of ensuring that the guests of the Son Baulo are having a lovely relaxing holiday. You wont get any better breakfast or dinner at most 4 star hotels and have to say this hotel comes out tops for quality and variety. David the entertainment manager is an absolute gent and has such a unique rapore with the adults and children who love him. Location of hotel is just spot on for us a nice 20 minute stroll along promenade to the livelier resort centre and hotel sits right on a lovely sandy beach with a sprinkling of cafe/bars with music within touching distance. Looking forward again to our visit in August. Unless you are ultra fussy and very difficult to please take previous reviews with a pinch of salt

4th time at son baulo and looking forward to my 5th time in September :) If I have to say something negative it would be 4 nights in a row of pork, and tho delicious, over 2 weeks that's 8 nights of the same meat - it's never been that repetitive so not sure why it's changed .. Otherwise, another perfect stay :)

Lovely 2 wks at son balou staff excellent food spot on plenty of choice however we asked for sea view and we were on bottom floor and all could see were trees maybe shud get rid of these re flies etc however I asked to be moved which they did to second floor beach lovely and well looked after will def be returning

We have been visiting Son Baulo for at least ten years. The welcome we get is amazing and genuine. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I use a wheelchair and the help I receive from staff and also other guests cannot be surpassed. Although we are observers and do not actually partake in various activities the entertainer David always recognises and welcomes us. He is wonderful, particularly with young children and is a definite asset to the hotel. Although the hotel itself is a bit tired it does not detract from our enjoyment of the holiday. We have already rebooked!

The food, rooms, location, amount of sunbeds pool and sunbathing area are great. We had problems with the air con and it took a couple of days to sort it but eventually they did and were very keen to make sure we were happy so maybe a one off issue. Be aware they control centrally when the air con is on or off, it is not 24hrs a day (which you can pay €18 for and is necessary in summer) The drinks are reasonably priced for a hotel, and there are plenty of decent bars nearby. In the restaurant drinks are waiter service and one waiter isn't really enough as we couldnt get a drink with our evening meal last night. The beach and sea are so close you don't need beds on the beach just jump in the sea when needed Karan on reception and the chap on night shift are a credit to the hotel helpful and so friendly, I hope they are recognised for this!

Nice clean hotel , beds comfy , good choice of food , outdoor area nice & clean & staff very friendly & helpful. Right on the beach , plenty of sun loungers & near a nature reserve.

Lots of sun beds .no towel rush in morning. Staff loverly.its right on beach front .nice pool .loverly local bars .it's a quiet end.but not far from lots of restaurants. Hotel great with kids entertainment

The best budget holiday you could ask for. Food is great, hotel is very clean, staff very helpful and the entertainer, David, is second to none! Kids and adults alike love him. He’s so much fun, makes everyone laugh and remembers ever child’s name. We have returned many times and have made friends over the years who also continue to return. It’s has a beautiful charm you just can’t find anywhere else. Pool good, location amazing, right on a beautiful beach in a bay. Shops close, town a little walk away. Local market down the road every Friday. Come and enjoy. x

We have been coming to this hotel for 11 years. The location is beautiful, just a step from the hotel onto a stunning beach. There is also a beautiful nature reserve too.Rooms are basic but clean, maids come in 6 days a week. Food is good, fresh fruit, salads, hot food, breakfast is very good. We have never struggled to find something we like. All the staff are friendly and keep the tables cleared quickly. Staff are exceptional, hats off to Javi, Pedro, Juan and Alberto they are amazing behind the bar and lots of other areas in the hotel. David is amazing, he is so good with the children's entertainment, all the adults love him too. He's just Grrreeaat as he says often. Staff on reception are always ready to help if needed. Very friendly too. Will we return, most definitely 😊

A very positive experience so far. First impression was great - I emailed the hotel and received a swift and detailed reply, that's usually a good sign. The night of arrival, however, we saw a long queue for check-in and it moved really slowly. Only one staff at the desk, forms to fill in, tax to pay etc. so it dragged. It took about 45 minutes to actually check in, the longest we ever had so far, it was almost 2am so not great. Everyone in the queue looked bored. At last our turn, and the receptionist Joan was very nice (thumb up to him as he was working on his own). Then all was fine after. Staff here is lovely. Karen at reception gave us good advice for what to see, she has all the paperwork from a magical file folder. Hotel location is convenient, right at the beach, 20 minutes or so walk to the Marina, nice walk along the promenade. A local natural reserve is also within walking distance. Food wise, for some people, maybe there are not enough choices, but it's perfect for us, we don't have to pick a tiny bit of everything - there's definitely enough to enjoy, and dishes are hot. Have ice cream at dinner, also plenty of fruit at breakfast and dinner which we love. Night performance, seen live music and singing so far, again, might not be great for variety but the vibe is enough for us to enjoy. Will we return? Yes if the opportunity appears.

Been here quite a few times now seen lots of changes to hotel and surrounding area all for the better..Disability access is very good..Rooms still basic but clean and well maintained.Good pool area good staff..Food ok and plenty for kids...Pack for the beach and don't forget to go Guap@s bar for late night drinks...ps ting ting train is now 4.50 euros 1 way pp

Really lovely hotel with beautiful views outside. The staff were absolutely amazing and always so kind. The food was really nice and fresh and there was always something to cater everyone’s needs and there was lots of traditional Spanish cuisine. The pool bar and the restaurant also catered great lunch meals that were super fresh as well. The air con was super cooling and fast however it got quite chilly at points and we had to turn it off. The hotel was only a 20-25 min walk to Ca’n Picafort which was great as an evening activity with beautiful views the whole way there. The room was made up most days with towels changed and bedding made which was lovely. Great little shop a few steps out the front that was really cheap and provided all the goods we needed. I really recommend pool view rooms . You get to see the views of the pool but also the nature reserve and a little bit of the beach. It’s also great at night as there is no noise from outside as the pool is shut by 8.30 The only downside of this hotel is the noisy corridors. As there was laminate floor everything echoed no matter what time of the day. There was lots of loud noise at night even at 5 am. Overall we loved our stay in Son Baulo Hotel and we would definitely be returning in the future.

The food was 5*…….air con worked fast and well!!……getting a subbed was no problem!!…..a stones throw from the beach and the kids and games entertainer was by far the most energetic I’ve seen in 50yrs of travelling!!! Well done Son Baulo!!! keep up the good work!!!
