"Honestly, I never had high expectations for hotels in Semporna. This one was decent, about on par with a chain hotel during a holiday period, and it was clean enough. However, the balcony has glass and aluminum doors, so there's practically no soundproofing. You can hear kids downstairs and people working late at night. One night, I was unlucky enough to have a full night of unloading nearby. If you plan to stay here, bring earplugs.
**Cleanliness:** I'd say it's acceptable for Semporna, as the general standard isn't high. The only issue is that housekeeping is done, but not thoroughly.
**Service:** They were generally cooperative and helped resolve any issues. However, they are quite particular about the cleanliness of the room, especially the sheets and towels, when you check out. So, make sure not to stain them. Also, ensure you have both room cards when checking out.
**Environment:** The location is probably its best feature. It's convenient for island hopping and finding food and drinks downstairs.
If I had to recommend it, I'd say it's an option in Semporna, apart from the soundproofing – just remember to bring earplugs.
The breakfast, I have to say, is extremely poor. It's not even basic sustenance.

Hygiene: When we pulled back the covers, the bedding was wrinkled. We initially thought it hadn't been changed, but even after they supposedly changed it, it was still wrinkled. Maybe that's just how it is."

SShimaoliuliu6This resort is absolutely amazing! I personally tried it out! Although it's a bit far, the environment is fantastic, like a natural oxygen bar.
Transportation: If you're coming from the airport by taxi, it might be a bit far and remote. The driver might have trouble finding it or ask for extra money. You can add the hotel's WeChat and book an airport transfer in advance (a small cost for a big convenience).
Service: Incredibly good! The boss is a young guy who is very hands-on from the moment you arrive. He's very nice and chatty, and even told us how to bargain for seafood!
Food: Their chef's seafood! Unbeatable, so delicious!!!! And in the evenings, the restaurant has music (KTV), and the boss sings 🎤 – the atmosphere is great!
Cleanliness: I expected a lot of bugs (because it's in the mountains), but it was surprisingly clean, with no mosquitoes or insects at all!!!!! You won't get bitten. It's truly amazing!!!
Plus, their shampoo smells super good! Oh my goodness!
I'll be back next year! It's so comfortable! A place for complete joy and relaxation for both body and mind!!

GGuest UserOur stay at the Sagittarius Water Bungalow was absolutely fantastic! From our butler Xiao Gu to all the staff on the water bungalows and even the owners, everyone was incredibly nice. The rooms are equipped with smart Xiaomi home devices, clean and tidy. Opening the curtains reveals the beautiful 'jellyfish sea,' and the scenery is simply captivating. The food at the water bungalows is also delicious; breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner are all included in the price. Airport transfers and boat rides to the island are also covered, making it excellent value for money! We stayed for five days and four nights and didn't want to leave. The atmosphere on the island is also great, with KTV and song requests every night – the owner and his wife sing really well, by the way! The water bungalows offer a lot of entertainment, including sea fishing, snorkeling, glass-bottom boat tours, and drone photography. The local staff (Xiao Hei) are also happy to help with photos 📸. You can even get your diving certification and go on island-hopping day trips, keeping you thoroughly entertained. We came to Semporna specifically to get our diving certification, and the water bungalow's own dive shop is highly recommended. The instructors are very responsible and dedicated. I'd like to thank Xiao Li and Instructor Mohd Rizal Baba Selleh. The prices are fair, and the teaching focuses on the safety and skills of the students, which is very reassuring. The dive shop owner's wife is also super nice. All in all, this trip was incredibly worthwhile, and we'll definitely be back! I'll also be recommending it to my friends and family 😊

GGuest UserFrom the moment I placed the order, customer service representative Xiao Min provided one-on-one support. Everything was arranged meticulously, and the guide was very detailed, so I never had to worry about getting lost or going the wrong way. I also received timely reminders at every step, truly experiencing a butler-style service.
The overwater bungalow's location was good. It was a bit further from the pier, which was perfect because bungalows too close to the pier can have issues with trash in the water. Here, you could directly see the coral and small fish on the seabed – there were so many fish! Snorkeling was excellent, and we even saw sea turtles. The local staff were all very friendly, and the evenings were lively with them playing guitar and singing.
The overwater bungalow was newly built and clean. They even set up a simple extra bed for our child, which was a nice touch! The facilities were decent, considering it's over the water. But the views were unbeatable – lying there watching the sunset and seeing fish and starfish in the water below was absolutely beautiful.

GGuest UserThis village is all about beachfront holidays, and its pros and cons revolve around that.
**Pros:**
The private, secluded cabins offer unbeatable ocean views. You can lie on the terrace lounge chair at night, accompanied by the sound of waves and sea breeze, under a sky full of stars. During the day, various fish and birds keep you company.
It's a diving resort, with both scuba diving and snorkeling available. I heard the diving is good, but I didn't try scuba. The snorkeling right off the beach near the village entrance wasn't great. So, we hired a private boat to go snorkeling elsewhere, which was excellent; we saw multiple sea turtles.
**Cons:**
What made it great also made it less so. The cabin is drafty on all four sides, and the air conditioning is really weak and blows directly onto the bed, almost making me sick. However, it was still better than opening the windows. The ocean waves in the morning were definitely louder than a bus downstairs. The most bizarre thing was that only the terrace had curtains; the rest of the cabin didn't. So, the morning sun shone directly onto the head of the bed, which I guess is due to its orientation. These are points where opinions might differ.
Most frustratingly, aside from scuba diving and snorkeling, there are no other entertainment options in the village. Under the tropical sun, everyone just retreats to their rooms. Plus, scuba and snorkeling are handled at separate locations.
I have to complain about the somewhat old facilities. You can see sea fish through the gaps in the wooden floorboards. The bathroom had various issues: the toilet needed two flushes (and I, being an engineer, still can't figure out why), the overhead shower only produced about a third of its normal water flow, with the rest squirting out horizontally onto the partition. Luckily, there was a handheld shower that worked for one day. The next evening, the handle broke off when I tried to turn it on, and water started gushing out. So, two security guards came, both claiming they were just security. The last time, around 11 PM, I was already in bed when three people arrived, again stating they'd fix it tomorrow. The next day, both showers were repaired...
The food was... edible, I guess.
In short, this village is a matter of personal taste.

MM532750****My stay at 'Fairy Tale Wonderland Resort' in Semporna completely exceeded my expectations. Let's start with transportation: the hotel offers a shuttle service that picks you up directly from the airport, which was a huge convenience. The driver was incredibly friendly and even gave us tips on where to exchange money and reliable dive shops.
The accommodation was fantastic. The room had wooden floors and a high ceiling, and it felt clean and dry. The bed was super soft, and the pillows weren't flat at all. The big sea turtle plushie on the bed was absolutely adorable. Both the fan and air conditioning were quiet at night, ensuring a very restful sleep. The courtyard felt like a small garden with coconut trees, flower walls, and colorful signs. It was incredibly relaxing to just sit on the woven hanging chair and zone out; every photo I took turned out beautifully.
The food deserves a special mention. For dinner, we ordered steamed crab, mantis shrimp, soy-sauce steamed fish, and a plate of water spinach. The freshness was undeniable, and the cooking was perfectly executed, bringing out the natural flavors of the seafood without being overly salty or greasy.
Overall, the hotel's attention to detail in service was excellent: convenient transfers, clean and comfortable rooms, and high-quality food. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday in Semporna, I highly recommend staying here.

Moreover, the hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful; they even mailed my hat back after I left it at the hotel – I'm so incredibly grateful! I'll definitely stay at their hotel again next time I'm in Semporna!

GGuest UserThree days, two nights, and every day brought a new kind of 'excitement.' Day one, the air conditioning didn't work, there were tons of mosquitoes, and the shower only had cold water. The only decent thing for dinner was the fried shrimp, which disappeared in seconds, and the few other dishes available were practically snatched away. It felt like a refugee experience. Day two, we got a different room. After swimming, I went back to shower, and there was no water, then cold water, then extremely hot water, constantly cycling. The water pressure was also incredibly low; I almost lost my mind trying to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. That night, it was very windy, and there was a lot of noise outside, as if something wasn't properly secured. On the third day, as we were checking out, our luggage was mistakenly taken by a staff member and given to other guests. It was only returned after the other guests realized the error. Our luggage was perfectly fine in the restaurant; how dare you just take it away? Do you have any basic management sense? Of course, the environment is nice, that's the only highlight. Given how expensive it was during Chinese New Year, you should provide a service level that matches the price. The buffet was cafeteria-standard, and we still had to fight for food. Are you not ashamed?

The only downsides are that the breakfast selection is simple and the facilities are quite basic. If you're looking for a luxurious experience, you might want to consider other options. However, it's perfect for travelers primarily focused on island hopping who prioritize convenient accommodation.

For safety, I recommend that you understand the territorial disputes and historical background of East Malaysia. You will need to communicate with the local resort through email and WhatsApp, so if you have difficulty speaking English, you can get information about boats and resorts with plenty of time.

SShanyouzhenI chose this hotel for a one-night stay before heading to the overwater bungalow the next day. Although the room facilities were a bit old, they were very clean. There's a convenience store right downstairs, and it's very close to the pier. The sea breeze was a bit loud at night, but the breakfast was excellent and plentiful.
